I'm seriously thinking about getting an S1, I thought about an S3 or RS3 but they are a bit pricey! Is that the competition S1? I'm near Oxford by the way and I would like to also join an S1 owners club if there is one near by? Also nice video.

That’s a lovely S1 Quattro, love the colour, it’s an absolutely stunning car, that exhaust sounds much better than stock. I think they’re a great price for what you get. The interior is very high quality.
I am really tempted to get an S1 with the quattro exterior package. I love that aggressive rear end with the black contrast foil and the quattro spoiler. I am not sure about the red accents in the lights, i guess i have to see that option in person before i can decide.
I find the red accents in the lights pretty cool, makes the car a bit unique. Either way can't go wrong with the standard car 👍🏼

Good alternative to the Golf R, and this has a permanent split between front and rear wheels if im not mistaken, which the Golf R hasnt, unless im wrong please correct me.

Great video as usual. I almost bought one of these in the older shape. It's a brilliant hot hatchi and probably handles better than any of the other S cars Audi has. When I spece'd it out it was coming in at around £30k! This one must be around £33K, that's Golf GTI, BMW 1M money? Plus at the time Audi were mugging me of with options like interior lighting 😕It's better to buy the s3 for better residual value and you can get it in manual form, which was my requirement. I never understood why you'd want this car as a 4 door? It's exactly the same size as the 3 which looks so much better IMO but they sell more sportbacks and makes this more of a family car.

However I do think Its good that Audi has gone to effort of producing it, makes it a unique prospect with it being so small and having quattro + highly tuneable 2.0 TFSI unit
You can easily put things in the back seats. Yesterday I had to pick up a big TV and it was the first small car in a long time where I could easily access the back seats. Albeit why are there back seats at all really, since behind my driver seat there is just 2 inches of room before the seat anyway.

does ist pull as hard as your S3? because the s1 looks very aggressive when changing gears, while the s3 does not.
S3 definitely pulls harder, its just the DSG that makes it look smooth. S1 is still faster than I expected though
You can get the same wheels on the TTS - I had one so think this would be more real world fun

Julian J No problems at all just had to upgrade the clutch to a Sachs
You shouldn't be thinking about getting a Miltek exhaust system, you should defo just get one. I quite like the Remus exhausts to be honest.

Pretty cool car! My S3 is Brilliant Black, Black Optic package (black mirrors, black grlll, no chrome on outside except Rings,) powder coated satin black rims, red calipers, and I have let my exhaust tips go black with soot on purpose and it is BAD ASS. ;) LOVE my Audi!

Max Smith for 15k you won’t find this with much spec on it, I just got this as my second car at 18, it’s got everything on it besides heated seats and it was just under 20k

i had one myself. i found it really fun, but i always sort of regretted spending so much money for a sporty car not having proper breaks, an LSD or a precise suspension combined with relatively heavy weight. not all about it is bad, of course. the engine and the AWD are just great.

I must admit, the standard S1 does seem a bit quiet, not much drama with the standard exhausts. I like cars with character, and although not as pricey ive had an Abarth 500 and a 595, and still think they sound fantastic for the money. I like the Golf R but I hate those fake noise gadgets they fit in them, totally unnecessary in my opinion. The Golf GTI sounds quite good strangely, the Focus RS, not keen on the shape. WRX STI, quite a few pre reg ones still available in UK dealers, I must admit I like boxer engines, that would probably sway it for me even though running costs a bit steep. At least it would last a long time though. Rumble to the shops and back :D

A few of my mates have S1's and so many of them have clutch slip problems! Do like the one in the video though, same seats and colour as my A1 !

a real pocket rocket this car looks good because of the extra's.it is expensive but if you want one you pay , the extra's are not cheap this car looks like it has both the interior and exterior packages.
Im pretty sure this particular car doesn't have the Quattro exterior or interior packs, it looks fantastic regardless of options.

As I live across the pond, I’m not familiar with this car. I don’t think it’s sold here. After watching this video and doing a little research, this looks to me like a pretty ideal car what your friend wants to do. I can’t say I like the looks, but that’s a matter of taste. The performance figures look pretty impressive and would obviously get considerably better when it’s been re-chipped. Well I have never driven on UK back roads, I’ve watched enough videos to get a feel for what that’s like. Seems like this Audi would be far better the car the size and weight of a GTR, And ideally suited for those delightful twisting rural roads.😆
