    Thanks for going over all the parts. It's kinda cool seeing it in a real exploded diagram

    My goal is to build one too. How much experience did you have before you began building? What other resources/advice could you give me, that you found helpful when you were building yours? Anything you would have changed? Mistakes to look out for? Thanks.

    really thorough overview. very nice rifle in the works. im a mod 0 fan myself and plan to build one maybe this year.
    i actually began modding my FN 16" M4 towards a hybrid M4/MK-12 inspired DMR or RECCE i guess. it has the PRI G2 gas block/sight from the MK-12 so i feel its allowed to call my creation the MK-4/12. it shoots aces to 550 yds so far even with the M4 profile barrel. but life wont be complete until i have a real MK-12 mod 0!
    thanks for the overview. its renewed my interest!

    I wish they still made the ras handgaurd that’s what makes the mod 1 but knights armament only makes it for the military now. Btw did you go with the Douglas match barrel or the Douglas .223 wylde one I know both come with the option for the ops inc collie and break.

    • @alexunderwood5766
      @alexunderwood5766 4 года назад +1

      They still make them for civilian, you can get them on Brownells when there in stock but you have to jump on it when there in stock they go quick, that’s where I got mine a couple months ago

    If I ever get down to rebarreling my early SPR/Mod 0, I'll definitely do a companion vid to this.

    Authentic A1 stocks are out there. Gun broker and EE have them quite often, and some in really good condition. I JB welded the cracks on mine, and I love it. I had a Calvery Arms, which I think is the same as FA's A1 stock. Absolutely hated it. And that rubber trap door drove me nuts lol, but welcome to the club! If you have Insta, I'm @service_rifle_clones on there. Tag me and I'll post you on my page

      I looked at GB for a while and while you can probably get a decent one, most of the A1's were beat up or were missing the back plate. The FA back plate appears to be metal or really hard plastic. I'll check you out on Instagram. On the the MK18 now ;)

    I had a hard time tracking down a badger gas block. I got one in February and returned it for an exchange because it was beat up. Finally got it last month, the story that swfa gave me was that badger was behind on production of that particular gas block, the day mine arrived I almost ordered one from brownells since swfa didn't send me a shipping notification. That adco long collar is sweet, I think AE made them for adco. I spent $50 on a long collar when badger had their run back around October. The finish didn't match the brake and looked almost worn off anyways great vid, put up a video when she's all put together.

    • @HouseHoldOil
      @HouseHoldOil  8 лет назад

      After building this I would not recommend the Badger block anymore. I measured the ID at .750 & the barrel OD was .750. No way it was going on there even with heat. I ended up buying a Daniel Defense MK12 gas block. Still tight, but worked out much better.

      I found a TS-30A2 on eBay. Wasn't cheap, but looks awesome on the mod 1. I also have a old school NightForce 2.5-10. it's on the MK17. I wish I knew more people in my area that are interested in cloning, my gun friends hate it!

  • @S.-.V

    I really want to build an authentic MK12, unfortunately (and fortunately) I was able to get a smoking deal on a Daniel Defense MK12 and a Vortex Viper 2.5-10 FFP, so I'm just going to put an A1 or A2 stock on it and a Harris S bipod with ARMS #32. Plus my Saker won't fit with the original brake anyways so I was kinda set up for failure anyways.

    I'm pretty sure KAC lost there trigger contract due to one failing while in transport with Special Operations. Luckily nobody was hurt, cause that would have really been bad for KAC.

    I am doing an eight ar10 build and I was wondering if that Hangard would fit on the 308 ar 10 because when I searched it up to buy it it just said it was for a 556 but if anyone can give me any information on if that one will fit on the AR 10 or if there’s another company that makes one for the AR 10

      Big T’s racing, that's a big negative, the upper receiver for the 5.56, is much small than the 7.62 variant.

    • @dmperry1974

      Big T’s racing you can go for the M110 build, now that will be a sick build.

      Who did?

    • @cvdubya5774
      @cvdubya5774 4 года назад +1

      Upper Receiver
      The majority of the SPR upper receivers were initially supplied by Colt, with others being produced by Diemaco (now Colt Canada).[1] Colt had been outsourcing parts of its production to Diemaco for several years, then purchased Diemaco in February 2005. It is unclear whether the upper receivers for the later SPRs came solely from ArmaLite, or were a mix of receivers from ArmaLite and Colt/Diemaco. All of these upper receivers are flat-topped, but have been seen with either the old-style teardrop forward assist or the newer round style.[2]

      Ballpark $4,000. Optic and suppressor account for almost half of that.

    • @po9146

      That moment when you're in SR25 territory in one 5.56 AR lol. I'm somewhere north of that with my early Mod 0. Upper was a bit north of what PRI charges for theirs, but came with rings, bipod/ARMS mount, and some other goodies. Just added $700 to it in the form of an early Leupold Vari-X III, and I still need an A1 lower with KAC 2-stage, Douglas re-barrel, Colt or Armalite upper, and Pelican case.
