I grew up in this period and although I am now much more informed, I was carried away with it all back then. I became an avid European and ECC stalwart. Being in Europe helped Scotland and gave us Scots a buffer against Westminster Rule, which we hated like any slave hates the yoke that binds them. The EU is a an administrative and bureaucratic establishment which makes laws to distribute and regulate markets. I wish people who care so mch about democracy would be just as outspoken about the unelected chambers that control our law making in this country. But the masses care about what they are meant to care about.

Bravo Peter Hitchens, this and his other documentary, EU the continuation of Germany by other means, should be obligatory viewing for everyone in the country ! Too many people mouthing off about the Brexit subject without any meaningful background research.
Along with Hitch, Mr.Farages interviews & podcasts tell it like it is, also the Moneyweek channel on You Tube has some very interesting interviews with a variety of educated Eurosceptics.
