Same thing happened to me. When they tried to initiate the banking info change it sent a code in text and they wanted me to read the code to them over the phone. I knew better. Never ever ever read a code that you are texted to anyone over the phone. The reason it is texted to you is so that your eyes are the only one that can ever see that code.
Dude, you'd make a killer IT Support/Tech Support representative. That was an awesome explanation for those that don't know! On that note, I'd recommend using LastPass to remember ALL of your passwords for every single website, account, apps, etc. You can even have them remember your Credit Cards, SSN, etc. Upside? It's secure, free, and available on almost every platform (PC, Mac, Mobile, etc.). Downside? It's so secure that if you forgot the Master Password - the only password you have to remember, then there's no Reset. Do not pass go - lose all of your passwords. It's secure, but sometimes there are people who forget the only password that they need to remember. It happens. However, a key take away with LastPass is that they can generate passwords for you, and I always do, either, the Max Allowed Number of Characters or a 20-character password with Symbols when rapidly making an account. Lastly, you mentioned keystrokes, which you are accurate on; however, there are ways around this. LastPass is one of those ways - by copying and pasting that password into the box/field, then there are NO KEYSTROKES! Therefore, nothing is recorded! P.S. One, final note, would be to download Malwarebytes Anti-Malware program on your PC/Mac and your Mobile Device. For $12/year on Mobile, they'll automatically update the app to the latest anti-virus and they'll scan for any rootkits or viruses that might be tracking your keystrokes. It's an active-app that will automatically red flag a single suspicious app (even ones you approve of downloading). All of these suggestions make life easier and more secure for the individual. Good luck and thanks for making awesome videos!
You are the real MVP for all of the knowledge that you share with us dashers. You did such an excellent job of breaking things down. My first instincts were to think why the heck would he click on any link. I don't know if this is a scam or not, but these people are constantly leaving their personal phone numbers in the notes tab l, instructing me to call them once I arrive. Nope, I do it all through the DD app
I was scammed two months ago I am new to this “door dash” supposedly called me when I was delivering a order, they said it was being canceled because it was being used to order with a stolen credit card . I was tricked into giving my info , it was late Sunday morning right before payroll ended I was so upset and depressed , they took my money and door dash couldn’t help me get my money back !!!! You live and learn I still dash . Just so disappointed doordash couldn’t help me get my money back
Glad I watched this video. Had this happen to me. I told the person that they weren't from cs, that I gave cs # locked in my phone. They hung up and cancelled the order. SMH..Thank you for the person who told you about this.
Good info! I could see myself falling for this because when I’m in Dasher mode time is money and whatever makes the problem go away faster I’d be too focused on.
Thank god for having Bentley I swear this man has rejuvenated also resurrected me doing door dash once again and finally starting to pay off so blessed to have koup ain’t no better coach 💯🙏🏿🙌🏿
Dude! I almost fell for this!! My customer/dasher support claimed that the order was a mistake. I avoided losing my money by 2 hours. He even asked for a survey and asked if there was anything I thought of that could make my experience better. Also, I only realized because he changed my bank to Green Dot Bank, which is a common scammer bank.
Went to sign into my account this morning, they signed me out and I had to verify that I was human. I was like this is new to me. Then I see your video pop up, makes sense why they did that now.
OMG I got scammed as well!! I was on the way to pick up an order from chipotle and recieved a phone call from "dasher support" saying that the order was being canceled and that they needed to update my banking information. They also sent me a link and asked for my PayPal login. I hung up!
What do you think about us having Dasher profiles that the customers can see? Theyd be able to see our total deliveries, average response time, average rating etc. i wonder if that would help us when it comes to getting tips
Thank you for sharing this info. I'm thinking of dashing again after a long hiatus. I could see myself falling victim to something like this. Especially with all that is going on right now. Good looking out.
Just had this happen. They called and said the cc was stolen. And they canceled the order. But asked me to read back codes they send to me. Then the next evening I started dashing, then during my second delivery the app went out of my order and went to a screen that was asking for sign up info. Now it's been escalated. Who knows what will happen
The scams seem to be more frequent now. Got one recently where customer ordered something not available at store. So I texted him for a substitute item. No response. Contact DD chat. They tried. No response. Customer then called store and asked them to get my actual number so he could call me. I immediately unassigned the order, returned the food, and told DD I’m not doing the order. They wanted me to complete the order. No way. Walked out, left food at the store Something told me I was about to get scammed.
@Tahkeem Hilton_2.0 Yeah, they can start exactly like that. Then they might call directly with a masked number and do the same thing, but it will actually be under doordash's number and not through the app, making it seem even more legit.
When i started i called door dash support to make sure i did it all ok and he asked me questions i answered not thinking much of it i did this so i knew i can start dashing ... Everything went ok but on sunday afternoon i got a message that my bank account number had been changed
Got it! I always make up new passwords for each account of anything. I always use special characters mixed with numbers, upper and lower case letters using NO commons words. Knock on wood I haven't got hacked yet!
This almost happened to me.. it was an odd order.. a cup of coffee from Jack in the Box.. a long wait in a drive thru line. So I am in line.. I get a call, they ask me if I am getting an order from Jack in the box.. its supposed to add up to $5.00.. the coffee was $1.25... I didnt see the tip amount.. Postmates doesnt show the tips right away.. they were posing as Postmates support and told me they are going to cancel this order because it was bought with a stolen card.. I was like OH! Good thing you caught it in time! Then they verified a few things about me (that they could see on the app) my car , my name, etc.. they told me they needed to further verify me and once they did this they would give me $30 for compensation.. gas money and for my inconvenience .. I was hmm.. well, ok. thats good! I asked him how he would send me that money.... he said that the "gas money" would go on my account as soon as they were done "verifying" me. they wanted my password for Postmates and they wanted my email.. and password for that too.. they sent me a text.. and told me they could not "See" any of what I sent cuz it is "encrypted" . I asked him why they need my password if they are Postmates.. and I told him I dont remember it. .He shouted at me that I would be deactivated right away.. starting now. He said it would lead to permanent deactivation if I didnt verify right now! And that I could re-apply at the local hub.. after 7 days. I asked him why I had to re apply at a hub when I didnt do it that way to begin with .. and I told him I didnt want to be deactivated. I had fallen for it for a bit but then I remembered. Dustin is Driving saying about these things that happen .. he repeated over and over in his vids to not give out this info.. so I told him I didnt know my passwords that they are on autofill.. I started realizing this was a scam and hung up, he called back and was angry with me for hanging up on him and repeated the threats of me being deactivated.. I got another ping while he was ranting, so I hung up.. and did that order..
I unfortunately fell for this same scam. It was very convincing. I’m new to door dash and wish I had realized in the moment that something was up. I was dashing on the road on my way to pick up an order as they called me- I was very flustered and in an area I don’t know as well. The next morning, I got an email saying my email was changed. Immediately called support and they had to do an investigation.
As a new driver, three days in. I showed up at a restaurant today after accepting the run. I walked into the restaurant and told them I was there for a order. She told me there wasn't a order. So I waited for a few minutes thinking it might not be in their system yet.. A few minutes later another dasher walked into the restaurant and all of a sudden the order was ready... It happened yesterday but this time I waited... who can I talk to about this, its affecting my completion percentage..
Does anyone else have problems with restaurants accepting orders and charging customers for say example breakfast and then when you get there they tell you they won't fulfill the order because it's almost lunch time and if so what do you do?
Had that happen twice and I had to unassign both and explain. I also contacted the customer beforehand and told them to cancel because the the store has changed menus. If there's a better procedure I'd love to know. It hasn't happened since.
Well, that hasn't happened to me. But recently when I arrive to some restaurants they've told the order is not placed in their system and that there's nothing they can do, so I just contact DD support and they have helped satisfactorily in 100% of the situations
One gets through every now and then. Just call and aplogize/ explain to the customer and ask them to cancel. Soon as you hang up. Open a chat and ask DD to cancel...and then wait for one of them to cancel so you can move on :) Or you can just try to avoid accepting orders from certain resturants just until lunch is in full affect.
I'm wanting to change my doordash password, how on earth do you do that!? I'm on the driver app and I cannot figure it out and a I also cannot figure it out online either.... So frustrating!
This recently happened to me, but thankfully they didn't get me, I was being proactive by changing my passwords right away. But the scammer had me unlink my phone number and Gmail from my cashapp , saying he was giving me a doordash generated number, I just made sure to change my passwords and called my bank to cancel the card. I am just thankful that I had learned how to recognize a scam and how to secure myself from my Security+ background.
I think i mesed up when you get muliple orders you have to slide the order has been placed for both or the card won'f work for both right? In my defense they never teach how to handle multiple orders so when it happens you freak out lol
I just got something similar to this yesterday. Someone called me from a (708) number contacting me and letting me know that an order I accepted was some sort of spam order or something. I also remember him talking about a potential debit card stolen was used under someone's DD acct. But the thing is they were sending me verification links and it was thru doordash somehow to verify my info. but the number was off because when I called it back it said it was out of service. They told me that they would send me a card in the mail of this weeks pay on it my monday or Tuesday. This was really weird. Never had this happen to me before. They had me on the phone for like over 30 mins trying to verify my 1.name 2. email address 3.Phone number, and last (Credentials) it said referring to my password.
Good idea about adding the phone number to your phone for doordash, but scammers can still spoof phone numbers so you never really know. Safest way is to call them.
@Bentley Koup - you are doing such a service to your audience and helping others! I'm sending you a big COVID-19 Free Virtual Hug! I love you and your work!
So say that guy had the same email password. He changed the password on DD and Email.... the scammer still has his emails access right, so he’s still Fd kuz even though you change the password they could have already been in his emails right ? Shouldn’t that guy delete his email and create a new one?
They tried to get me last month. Saying they owed me a 500 dollar top dasher bonus but I had to pay 11 dollar processing fee. I told them to just take it out my bonus and send me the rest. They hung up on me
I accept a order that was $7 for .5 miles I thought sweet..then I noticed that the drop off address was the same as the restaurant I thought that was very weird i call the customer and they didn't pick up then next thing I know it was changed to 6 miles away from the restaurant so I unassigned the order but now chance this video i fell like that person knew what he or she was doing
The only issue with saving the number is scammers are able to change their number to show that same door dash phone number. My advise is to hang up and call door dash directly or message them only. Never give out any info period 👌
CocoaMoe1 bro somedude is out there waking up literally plotting this thinking about how he’s gna say it probably has a script in front of him so he sounds as robot as possible
I got duped like that on postmates, also understand any link by DoorDash or postmates are secured, luckily I only had like 5 or 6$ in my account when they did it it happened before covid too early March
Got him how exactly? They can change banking info but he can change it back lol. They can't use fastpay bc it takes 7 days to verify the new card so there's that lol.
Yeah but they can do it just before the normal weekly transfer time. I actually almost got scammed by this too, and if I had been 2 hours late in figuring it out, I would have lost my weekly earnings.
@@AnnisAdventures it takes DAYS to process new banking info. So let's say it's a Sunday evening & this was to happen right? You wouldn't get a direct deposit into that new account right away. Your pay would actually be held for one week until that banking account information has been approved. Now a few year's ago the security wasn't as great as it is now. I could see this happening then but not now since it takes day's for banking info to update & a week for fast pay info. Postmates has awful security measures which is why I stopped delivering for them a year ago when I got GOT for $400.
Doubt it was scam or hacking but 1 time dd chat asked for my phone #. Which I questioned why he needed it. Ended up just ending chat and contacting the customer to cancel order on their end
I love it when scammers complain that they didn't get their food -- happening more and more with fast food and chipotle for some reason. I delivered AGAIN to a guy who said he never got his food. Today, I brought him pizza and said "Remember me?! I brought you your McDonalds last week and you reported me saying that you didn't receive your order (God < I wanted to beat his ass!) You getting your pizza right? He nodded, then I snapped a picture and said 'Smile, I got you on camera now." Bye!
Omg! First of all "You Rock" seriously.! I got scammed. What a fool. Ugh! I contacted support and screenshot the emails I received over to them. I've only dashed one day. Yesterday, and it was awesome. I don't know what to do. If they are collecting my clicks so to speak, where do I become to fix this? Please help! Or anyone. I'm not going to dash until this is fixed.
I was kicked out of doordash. They claim i spoke rude to a support person, i see everyday other dashers who cherry pick and even admitted to yelling at support and even say cuss words. They still dash but not me. I am going to write the main owner. I think if they nail me these people should get it as well
Hey bro, question, so I had a dash to a particular address and called the customer and she’s like oh I’m sorry that’s my old address, can you deliver it to such and such address? Customer was polite and the address wasn’t super far, maybe 4 miles, but I had already swiped that I arrived, because I was technically at the address that door dash sent me, but it was just out of the way. I did complete that order tho.
If it's more then like 2 miles call support first so they can adjust it. And they might pay you xtra. Sometimes the app won't let you complete it if you get to far away from the original drop off
I'm sorry to here that guys. But I'm excited for my brother on his Job back. We can't change the past but we can only control what we can now. Thanks to #Spiketechs he's service skills will continue to benefit us in the future.
Also I only respond to text or use chat support. 99.99999999% of calls get ignored unless I'm calling the customer @ drop off and its obviously them calling me back
They did that to me my first week they even had me sign up for cash app they stole 1.00 from me but tried to get more but I only had 9.21 in my bank account
I never give out personal information. So remember never to give it out
NEVER!!!
I'm an IT guy who dashes on the side. You crushed this explanation. Thank you! As always, you're a gift to our community!!!
Lmfao same here!
im in IT 2 i got laid off in 2016 and been doing gig apps since then fulltime
Same here haha level 1 tech support love this as a side gig
Same thing happened to me. When they tried to initiate the banking info change it sent a code in text and they wanted me to read the code to them over the phone. I knew better. Never ever ever read a code that you are texted to anyone over the phone. The reason it is texted to you is so that your eyes are the only one that can ever see that code.
This happened to me last night. Thanks to this video I was able to prevent anything from happening to my account
THANK YOU!!!! Excellent info as always!! You probably just saved 1000’s of us! You are the best, Sir.
Doordash should hire this guy as a media educator....hes good...your on for greater things Bentley.
The FastPay scam is harder for them to do now that DD has a waiting period for changing banking details.
Just started with Door Dash for same reason as you. Needed more time to focus on other things. Thank you!!!
Newly starting out as a dasher. GREAT information! Thank you so much 🤗

Thanks Coup. Doordash never reaches out with these tips. Your like my indirect boss for DoorDash......
Glad I watched this video. Had this happen to me. I told the person that they weren't from cs, that I gave cs # locked in my phone. They hung up and cancelled the order. SMH..Thank you for the person who told you about this.
I just logged the number...I'm in 3 days now... liking it! Thx for your insight
Great Information, and It was Already Ready!!
Good info! I could see myself falling for this because when I’m in Dasher mode time is money and whatever makes the problem go away faster I’d be too focused on.
So helpful. Thank you!!!! I'll listen to this over and over.
Thank god for having Bentley I swear this man has rejuvenated also resurrected me doing door dash once again and finally starting to pay off so blessed to have koup ain’t no better coach 💯🙏🏿🙌🏿
im glad this inspired you to follow back up with the grind #crunchtime
Dude! I almost fell for this!! My customer/dasher support claimed that the order was a mistake. I avoided losing my money by 2 hours. They are also doing that with Instacart

Thank you so so much for giving the heads up! You give out the best information. Stay safe out there❤️❤️
Important to know. Thank you. I'm not so sure I would have slowed down enough to catch it, either. Very glad I have been listening to you.
😁😍🤩 Thank you. And!! Thank you for your time...... I'm now back at driving.
#spiketechs
I'm so glad for this information and glad that "Drake" was able to change his information before anything major happened.
What do you think about us having Dasher profiles that the customers can see? Theyd be able to see our total deliveries, average response time, average rating etc. i wonder if that would help us when it comes to getting tips
#spiketechs is my hero. Now I'm back at driving 😚😚
This is so important. Thanks.
Side note. Who down votes imperative information that will keep their financial accounts safe?🤔
Thank you for sharing this info. I'm thinking of dashing again after a long hiatus. I could see myself falling victim to something like this. Especially with all that is going on right now. Good looking out.
Good looking out Folkz. Stay safe out there. Great tips.
Your awesome man!!! Always on it!! Thank you Bentley 👍👍👍👍👍

Unless of course they are trying to get your actual number - not the one the linked number that comes from California on the app.
thanks for the info...btw i have been singing your praises down here on the gulf coast whenever I come across newbies to the game
Thank you for looking out! 😁
My dad always said when someone calls you and asks for personal info always be leery.
When i started i called door dash support to make sure i did it all ok and he asked me questions i answered not thinking much of it i did this so i knew i can start dashing ... Everything went ok but on sunday afternoon i got a message that my bank account number had been changed
Good looking out for us Bentley!
Had my best day today after watching your vids! Keep em coming!
Got it! I always make up new passwords for each account of anything. I always use special characters mixed with numbers, upper and lower case letters using NO commons words. Knock on wood I haven't got hacked yet!

Mass respect for the info Bent!
Very informative, thank you!👍🏼👑

Your videos are super helpful! Thanks a million!!!!!
You're always so helpful Thank you.Keep up the good work.
may be a dumb question, but how exactly do you refresh the app. I usually know how, but on this app, I do not know
So I just signed up for doordash and it said I'm top dasher of the month. Why would that say that if I've never dashed?
I'm wanting to change my doordash password, how on earth do you do that!? I'm on the driver app and I cannot figure it out and a I also cannot figure it out online either.... So frustrating!
Have you ever encountered a dash's pay change after you completed? I accepted a $17 dash, after completion the pay changed to $9.
3:11 The people that called Drake to pose as DoorDash were the people that placed the order - wow !!!
Very good info but remember, they can spoof the number too(make your caller ID look like its coming from that 855 number).
I think i mesed up when you get muliple orders you have to slide the order has been placed for both or the card won'f work for both right? In my defense they never teach how to handle multiple orders so when it happens you freak out lol

fuggin love that intro.

before apps i never gives out info and after apps still never gives out any info i been doing apps since 2014 they been doing these scams since 2015
That was absolutely RIGHTEOUSNESS INFO😷🚘🐢
so, can someone help me here - is Bently saying it's good to have a separate email account for just the doordash work?
Very helpful! Thank you!!
Thank you for all you do 🙏
My man Koup!
Just happened to me they changed my banking info to “Green Dot Bank” that’s when I new
Good stuff!
Wow. People really out here hardcore scamming people. Too much time on their hands.
I had a very similar thing happen, luckily the guy lost his patients with me and hung up
“Deez mofos” took me out🤣🤣🤣. Thanks for the info I start dashing on Thursday
Doubt it was scam or hacking but 1 time dd chat asked for my phone #. Which I questioned why he needed it. Ended up just ending chat and contacting the customer to cancel order on their end
Scammers can spoof numbers. Just FYI. I had a friend who had so much Spam, it looked like they were calling her from her OWN phone number.
"Dont be afraid to hang up...."
Great info 👍👏👏👏👏stored those mo fos in my phone 📱😂😎🤪
Thanks Bentley
I think if they nail me these people should get it as well
I almost fell for it this week
this happened to me too! i didnt do it because it sounded suspect
Y'all be careful because they are also doing it with lyft too.
Thanks man!
Do you have a e-mail, if someone wants to ask a door dash question? Or just posted it here?
Hey bro, question, so I had a dash to a particular address and called the customer and she’s like oh I’m sorry that’s my old address, can you deliver it to such and such address? Customer was polite and the address wasn’t super far, maybe 4 miles, but I had already swiped that I arrived, because I was technically at the address that door dash sent me, but it was just out of the way. I did complete that order tho.
If it's more then like 2 miles call support first so they can adjust it. And they might pay you xtra. Sometimes the app won't let you complete it if you get to far away from the original drop off
Bentley Koup thank you for the insight
Next time tell the client to call support and request the address change so they can readjust your pay.
Good info...thanx🎈
Thanks again brother
Any dashing tips on lighting your lips?
I'm sorry to here that guys. But I'm excited for my brother on his Job back. We can't change the past but we can only control what we can now. Thanks to #Spiketechs he's service skills will continue to benefit us in the future.
Also I only respond to text or use chat support. 99.99999999% of calls get ignored unless I'm calling the customer @ drop off and its obviously them calling me back
They did that to me my first week they even had me sign up for cash app they stole 1.00 from me but tried to get more but I only had 9.21 in my bank account
I got deactivated for cancelling a bunch of orders when I got the food. (Over 25 times)
Why would you do that?
