Not only is she singing in front of a large band, but there’s also a large audience, and it’s being broadcast live on Norwegian TV, where she is a national treasure. No problem for this 10 year old prodigy.
Stop pausing the reaction, don’t care about your wise words and you analyzing every little detail, that’s not what you do with this type of reaction, you just listen to it, and feel speechless and impressed afterwards, cause she’s only 10, we all know the things you’re saying, it’s a reaction video, not a commentary video.

Angelina put in a great deal of work to develop an interpretation like this. There are clips of her working on it when she was 9, on piano in a dressing room, at home on her keyboard. Apart from this young lady being an incredible artist, with an amazing voice, her work ethic is unbelievable for someone so young. Angelina has high expectations, she does not rest until the work is done, even then, she may want to develop further...

Angelina Jordan is a music prodigy she started singing at age of 1.5 years and more than that she started with Billy Holiday Jazz. Angelina speaks 3 languages, designs her own clothes, and has written a very popular book called "Mellom to hjerter" (Between Two Hearts) a story about why she wears no shoes during her performances, and like her name she truly is an angel with a heart of gold. Angelina won Norway's got talent she started the competition at 7 years old and won at 8 years old. Her younger years before age 13 she was watched over by her mother (Sara) and her Uncle who just wanted her to grow up normal. Her mother and uncle Turned down almost 90% of all requests for her to perform but even so from age 7years to 12 years old or so, she has been all over the world (Mother never more than a breath away) Angelina has produced over 130 covers, and she makes all of them her own, all of which will astound you. New people to Angelina get sucked down this road of experience not believing what they're hearing her excellent vocals and unique way of singing, Angelina is a master at music structure her ability to show absolute recognition to a cover while she makes it her own. Angelina writes her own music and produces it. Angelina's mother is Norwegian, her father is from Sweeden The artist grandmother (Mery Zamani) on her mother's side is from Iran and her grandfather (recently deceased) from Japan both grandparents are very involved with Angelina's growing up, Angelina's song a million miles is about losing her grandfather. Although Angelina didn't win AGT champions 2021 she was signed to Republic record label and is producing new music 7th Heaven, Million Miles, Save the world shes on her way to a world market that I'm sure she'll dominate.

The song arrangement was by Angelina done the way Angelina wanted. She had worked with this band many times and in practice they admiringly refer to her as the boss.

I read that the reason why she performs with no shoes is when she was only 6 she saw a homeless girl barefoot and had scarred feet, so she gave the little girl her own shoes and told her grandmother she would sing barefoot until all the children in the world had shoes. This was in Iran, her grandmother is Iranian.

As a 46 year old white man, the idea of calling myself an "Angelina Angel," causes me my body to shiver in just the weirdness of the phrase, so I will never own the title, but I will watch and love everything she creates
I too was distracted by the blinding blue light when I watched this. If you will notice just after the intro the camera swings to capture the band then when the camera comes back to Angelina the light is shining up at the same angle as the other blue lights. I have to think that a stage hand quickly adjusted the light when the camera was on the band.

Great reaction, again. I agree with you about her voice getting lost a bit in the lower register but I see it as a sound mixing issue rather than the key she’s singing in. I love hearing her use her full range; her lower register is so clear and she doesn’t lose any of her impeccable pitch down there like most mortals do.
This seems way out of the normal for a 10 yr old, it sounded so good with no child voice limitations on it like when she sang "I put a spell on you" this is mind boggling crazy. Thank you for another excellent reaction to Angelina. I have lost count of the number f times I have listened to this performance, and it never fails to impress me. Those two low notes for the word "good" at the beginning and and and that wonderful crescendo are the "icing on the cake".
Did you notice the cheeky smile she gave to the cameraman at about 4.49 in the video, and the modest curtsey she gave to acknowledge the applause of the audience, and the way the "performance" Angelina became the 10-year-old child she is almost immediately she had finished singing?

Great reaction ! "Gir tilbake" means giving back, and this performance was part of a charity concert arranged by Plan Norway, an organization focusing on improving children's living conditions all over the world; so very much in tune with Angelina's spirit (referring to the reason why she always performs barefoot).
Allthough I could see the two of you sitting there safe and sound all the while the thunderstorm was going on outside, I could definitely see you were thunderstruck regardless :-) I could also see Andrea kinda blushing a bit there towards the end and swallowing heavily. I guess that's what this girl does and has always done to us. Btw, the black and white "I Put A Spell On You" was recorded when she was 9 years old. So merely 1 year apart, these two.

Angie did the song again that same year when she was 10 at a live outside Jazz concert with a different & smaller band. For me this song will always be connected to Nina Simone. Her message on the background of her struggle for civil rights, against racism, made it so amazing, so emotional. Angelina relates to that version and is doing it justice. So now you got to listen to Nina....

Funny that you mention the arrangement. Angelina usually does her arrangements. 10 yrs old (2016) was a great year for Angelina. IMHO her (jazz, blues, soul, R&B, pop)
classic piece is "I'm still holding out for You". She made the soundtrack in 2016 for the songwriter Baby FuzZ, as a potential demo. Her family didn't want it released,
and it was obtained by a third party who made the video and LEAKED it November 2018. Baby FuzZ released his video of the song in December 2018.

The last encore song was again feeling good, there she sang wonderful relaxing and cool on stage. A great concert

Your observation that the band volume is too high, that the sound engineer has set her mike volume too low, has identified a common limitation of many of her recordings. Since she linked up with a recording company (Republic Records) in the last year, this volume problem no longer occurs. An example of her now improved audio tech can be heard on her song "7th Heaven." You might also consider going back to her Norway's Got Talent performances to experience why a seven year old (she had turned eight by the end of that competition) won. I for one (of many) appreciate having vocalist-musicians react to AJ's performances; you are noticing and comment on aspects of her music that pass by us who watch and even by other reactors. She's 9 yo in the black and white video you are referring to (I put a spell on you). But she had just turned 9, and in this video she's only a few weeks from 11, so it is about 2 years difference. The song is not 100 years old, but it is almost 60 years old. Shawn, you were so right about the sound mix here. I regularly complain (mostly to myself) about this with so much contemporary music. It's as if the producer doesn't trust the singer - or the audience - enough to let the voices(s) shine through.
"The Stream gir tilbake" ("The Stream gives in return") was a concert where the finalists in the musical competition "The Stream", arranged by TV2, were giving something in return. During the autumn they had been given the opportuity to fulfill a dream of their life, and now they were giving a concert to promote the organization "Plan International". This organization is working in more than 50 countries helping children and youth in difficult situations to become more self confident, to secure good living conditions, health, education, protection against violence and child marriages, and assisting in getting employment. To achieve this, money is needed. During the concert several persons, including the Minister of Foreign Affairs and the Minister of Education were applying to the audience and the viewers of the program to join the "Plan International" as sponsors. Angelina had not been a competitor in "The Stream", but she was one of four other artists invited specially to sing at the event. And this is the sort of invitations she gladly accept: An opportunity to help other children. The concert was held and aired on December 30 2016.

If I could design an album cover for Angelina I'd have a Mona Lisa painting with her face. She is the only person I've ever seen who smiles like the Mona Lisa. Da Vinci apparently took his Mona Lisa painting with him every place he went as his most personal possession. It was probably the most travelled painting of the High Renaissance period.

At the risk of thinking that it is impossible for a little girl ... this is Angelina, who at 8 (2 years earlier) is already working on her arrangement of "Feeling Good", while her mother is with the hairdresser and there are also other little ones similar recordings. Hi Guys. I span the eras of Nina Simone to Humble Pie. I agree with what you are saying about matching up a female voice with a big band. Now if you want a real twist on what seems to be a mismatch, try watching an in studio version of Steve Marriott (Humble Pie) singing Tina Turner's "Black Coffee". Wow!
