    I hate the fact that the "obedient daughter" part is considered as a positive. it's so bad to expect your child to be obedient, like a trained dog

      Considering how it's ideal status of a woman in burmese culture and household is depressing and it's even sadder when you consider it's still used in some places in myanmar. Its as the women's postitive attributes are defined by her obedience set by the men's standards. Truly a shame.

      No, what he means by being obedient a daughter is a daughter who knows her duties as a daughter and listens to her parents. More like the word "devoted " in this case.
