if you haven't read six of crows yet you have to!!! THAT'S longing and slow burn and yearning and true love and and ahhh i think you'd love it. also, i've been a silent watcher since september 2023 and this is the first time i comment on youtube ever! i moved away from home just at the same time you did and watching your videos made me feel less alone :))
Hey Steph I’ll try to explain the whole Draco situation, basically people aren’t that pleased with movie Draco so they decided to write fan fictions about him. People like the idea of him IN the fan fiction because they created a character that fully customizable by them. I do agree that movie Draco isn’t that great and he was irrelevant but people felt like he could’ve had such a deeper story so they decided to create their own.
I think a good meet cute for you would be reading on the beach and a guy is playing frisbee or something (lol) and it lands by you and then he starts talking to you. It’s something I could see happening. Something at the beach anyway :)
okay i had this same thought lol it's super cheesy but like a man coming up and asking you to join them playing beach volleyball or something? idk if people even play that on the beach in charleston but i could see that happening to steph
Steph u need to read Once Upon a Broken Heart, the slow burn in this book is perfect! I also recommend Pumpkin Spice and Not so Nice, The Daughter of The Goddess Moon, The Wrong Mr. Right, they are amazing!! ❤
12:57 Slow burn book rec! : I feel like you’d love “Alone with You in the Ether” by Olivie Blake - it’s very lyrical and normal people-esque, lots of yearning and the characters are amazing and so deep.
I wouldn't say it's slow burn, but I second that anyway!! Gives Normal People vibes in a sense that it's very realistic and raw. My all time favorite book!
your vlogmas has been such a comfort watch for me this year. I love seeing charleston through your eyes,as someone who lives there but is still discovering it .
as someone who was DEEP in dracotok in 2020-2021, as well as dramione fanfiction, most of us were obsessed with a combination of every actually good draco who was written by the fans. we all projected an idealized version of him created through fanfiction, onto the draco from the movies, so we'd edit him all the time, but that didn't mean we liked the movie version of his personality. we just needed a visual, apart from all the amazing fanart that was also done of him. some also empathized with him for the fact that he kinda had no choice with joining voldemort, and that his behavior was derivative of trauma he experienced himself. but mostly, we just like fanfiction draco lol
I’m a silent watcher- Six of Crows isn’t a romance book but it has the best slow burn romance of all time in my opinion. Kaz and Inej definitely arranged some of my brain cells and I think about their relationship dynamic constantly even though it’s been years since I’ve read it. Love your videos so much!
im so thrilled seeing u introducing kyleigh to the hp universe. its so heartwarming and an unique experience. ur amazing n i love all of your vlogmas so far!! thank u for gifting us these great videos every day
Love seeing Charleston through your videos 🫶🩵 Question: what’s a dream/goal you’ve had when you were younger that you’re still wanting to achieve today? 🫶 I’m slowly rewatching all your past videos and it’s making me feel so nostalgic 🥲🤍
my fiance and I met because I was organising and running a big gymnastics event here in Scotland (that used to be my job), and he helped out with the photography company we used! I told the photography team we had soup left over from the judges lunch and they could help themselves, and now two years later we are engaged and getting married in September next year 🥰
Hey steph, one of my fav novels, ' As long as the lemon trees grow', has everything you are looking for, yearning, longing ,slow burn, romance. This novel has pierced my heart.
i know you said its on your tbr already but six of crows is FULL of yearning like the slowest slowburn yearning central. also the flatshare by beth o leary for a standalone fun slowburn!!
I went to the park with my friend one random Sunday in the summer of 2016 and we ran into a couple of guys (she already knew them from mutual friends) and that’s how I met my husband♥️ it’s sooooo crazy that’s it’s been almost 9 years now but in the day and age of Tinder and online dating I’m just so grateful that I met my love at a park on a beautiful sunny day😊
My parents met on a bus in Argentina when they were both travelling. Neither of them spoke the same language but they knew enough spanish to start talking to each other.
So I met my partner on the plane going on a girls holiday. He was going on a lads trip. We were sat with his friend so we all sorta got talking. We then got on the same transfer coach to the same hotel and we were staying on the same floor. We all made really good friends and spent the entire trip together as a big group. Me and him just sorta clicked. I was living in London at the time and he was in North East England but we stayed in touch and visited each other back and forth for a year and a half. We now live together and have a puppy. Truly had my movie moment!
The lack of good romance books that have actual yearning is so real, but I always end up reading fantasy because for some reason they actually have better yearning and slow burn romance than the romance books most of the time
I LOVE GOOD YEARNING BOOKS- I feel like the “Infernal Devices Series,” does it really well!! It’s definitely a fantasy, but very character and relationship driven :)
Seconding this!! This is honestly such a good trilogy and the ending is amazing. It’s also not necessary to read the other Shadowhunter books because I believe the Infernal Devices is a prequel.
Hii steph question for tomorrow: Could you tells us more about how you and kyleigh decided to move in together? And how was the adaptation process going from living alone to living with a friend?
this has literally been the best month ever thanks to you! u hv no idea how grateful i am for you filming, editing & posting all month! thank u for continuously making my day always & including this vlogmas! ily
Your whole romance book rant was so real. I’ve felt the exact same way for a few years now and I’m ngl that’s the exact reason I just started writing my own books bc a lot of romance books out there just have NOT doing it for me 😭
Omfg you’re gonna be in love with the series ONCE UPON A BROKEN HEART!!! I’m so head over heels. On book 2 and still nothing but omg I’m kicking my feet every chapter ❤🥰
I love how at the beginning of the HP marathon you were talking about it probably not being Kyleigh’s type of movies etc. cut to her SOBBING over Dobby’s death. 17:23 😂❤
I've been going through a very veryyy tough time, and the only thing keeping me even a little happy is Steph. Thank you so much Steph, you really don't know how much ur videos mean to me❤️
To answer the question of the day: I think I'd prefer to meet someone through my friends or at a party, and we just immediately hit it off. Cause someone randomly coming up to me is scary. For book recommendations, I'm just going to recommend one of my favourite books, it doesn't really fit yearning maybe it's kinda more rom com-ish but it's def a slow burn. And there's no smut! Idk if you read sapphic books but it's 'She Gets the Girl' by by Alyson Derrick and Rachael Lippincott. They're also married in real life so that's cool.
I think you already experienced a very cute meet-cute when the guy next to you on the plane left his light on so you could read. Straight out of a book. 😭
question of the day! where do you get style inspiration from? i love ur style and the vibe you give off is so coastal granddaughter aesthetic most of the time lmao
Hi! I’ve been a silent watcher for a while now, and definitely, this is the time for me to comment. When you started posting this year's vlogmas I was preparing to present my thesis, and one of the things I most looked forward to was starting to watch vlogmas as soon as I was done with my thesis, so last Thursday I approved, and I’ve been binge watching finally I'm up to date Also, I wanted to thank you Steph for all the hard work you put on these vlogs and content. I always identify with you, so I’m excited about what life has to offer after college. ❤❤
i really love these vlogmas videos. I recently deleted all social media so I've only used youtube to stay up to date and the coziness of these vlogs is my main motivator to keep those apps deleted! Steph you're such a role model and your realness and vulnerability is amazing. I love you and thank you for consistantly uploading for us 💗💗
I would explain draco´s character arc, everything that plays into him and his character and why he´s my fav BUT I fear I would have to hand in a ten page essay for you to understand cuz it´s so complex
So for your question of the day… I’ve known this guy since he was a freshman in high school and I was a sophomore. I always thought he was cute. Literally 2 months ago, I randomly ran into him at the DMV after a break up and he’s been talking to me every single day since. Brought me a random thoughtful gift to my house on Saturday, like so thoughtful I nearly cried and had to look away from him. And my cousin is like a meet cute at a DMV is giving rom com vibes to the max and sounds like a movie lol she’s like I love that
Im typically a silent viewer but I need to say that the Draco discourse is so REAL! I remember watching the movies for the first time and being so confused as to why people loved him so much! 😭
For a slow burn romance I highly recommend "Second First Impressions" by Sally Thorne and "So, This Is Christmas" by Tracy Andreen (this one even more so). Both are very wholesome, cute, and fun. Its definitely will they won't they kind of situations. The suspense is addicting. I was kicking my feet and giggling. I was so excited from just reading characters holding hands. Fills my heart with so much love. P.S. Love you Steph you are my favorite!
the way i used to be. it's very centered on healing and the aftermath is SA but the romance is there, it's sad and so good, and the sequel as fantastic.
my ideal meet cute has always been meeting someone at the bookstore or a cafe where we’re both regular and he notices me everytime and strikes up a conversation one day and we become friends before starting to date :’)
Hello! I’m a silent watcher but I’ve been inspired by all the other silent watchers commenting! I wanted to answer your question at the end of the video! I went to high school with my now fiancé, but at the time he was dating a distant friend of mine and he really annoyed me haha, but then we reconnected at college and started dating two months after meeting again and now five years later we’re engaged!
Beyond ivy walls by Rachel Fordman!! such yearning and true love, no smut, just two people in love and a lot of pain from the past. Truly about being healed by someone's love and patience and kindness. ❤❤ Also, redeeming love talks beautifully of forgiveness and true love. Sacrificial love. Some of my favorites romances 🥰🥰
My dream meet cute scenario would be that I meet a guy when I’m walking my dog. Like imagine i was just walking around and my dog runs off somewhere and when i turn i see my dog standing next to a cute guy and then we start talking and go for a coffee
omg getting to show someone Harry Potter for the first time is such a dream. Did you ever read the books? I originally wasn't too excited about the tv show, but I recently reread the books this past month for the first time in years and realized just how many important plots and characters and stories couldn't be fit into the movies or were changed for the movies - especially with goblet of fire. With that in mind, I am actually so excited for the tv show now just so I can see some of my favorite things that were left out of the movies. I just hope they do it well :)
i full on giggled everytime kyleigh mentioned dobby and hating on snape knowing what happens because little did she know 😭😭😭 also this makes me so excited to rewatch the movies again even though i binged them all last year in december too lmao (i'm waiting until the 19th because that's when my exams end and winter break starts)
video idea!! weekly vlog of you and kyleigh listening to taylor swifts entire discography album by album and ranking the best-least favourite songs from that album. also watching HP too🫶🏼
silver lining by maggie osborne! it’s summary didn’t intrigue me much but the execution was brilliant. one of the best female lead written in romance and the pining is just chef’s kiss. also beautifully written!
Steph please please please, if you haven't, read all the young dudes on ao3!!!!! It's about the marauders and it's also slow burn, like years. it's literally so amazing in my mind it is canon
This is like my second time ever commenting on a youtube video and they were both this month on steph's videos! QUESTION: if someone were to write a book about you: 1) who would be the author 2) what would be the main trope 3) who would be the male lead 4) where woould it be set I really love your videos 💗
your journey alone is so comforting and inspiring steph, i can't believe the harry potter marathon is over i was loving kyleigh's reactions 🫶🏻💕 i loved another vlogmas
its so exciting to see your vlogmas videos everyday while I have my dinner. And its even better to see kylie go through the emotional harry potter rollercoaster we all go through. Loads of love, happy christmas!
watching this right now with a cup of tea and my candles lit bc whenever a new vlogmas is posted, I literally get into such a cozy mood for the evening (your vlogs come out at 7pm here in south africa so its my ultimate wind-down routine for the evening lol 🫖🕯💗). my question of the day is: what's your favourite tea flavour?? love you!
girl i feel you with the slow burn books, i’ve just read two mariana zapata books and i’m obsessed now. i feel like they keep me more hooked than any other romance
Really enjoying vlogmas, Steph! I've just paused at the part where you ask for romance recommendations, as I have two series to recommend that have a mix of situations, but aren't the insta-love (or smut) in a lot of current popular books. The first is the Fool's Gold series by Susan Mallery, set in a small town in California. The first one is "Chasing Perfect", and Goodreads says there are 20 novels in the series, with 45 works in total. The second is the Kowalski series, by Shannon Stacey. The first book is "Exclusively Yours". There are lots of different tropes in both series and they are so good!
Pre-watch comment but yesterday when I finished watching your vlog I finished my last assignment of the semester and then picked up Just for the Summer after you mentioned it in yesterday's video and I finished it in a day it was sooo good, I was giggling and kicking my feet and it was exactly what I needed after that semester so THANK YOU!!!! p.s loving this vlogmas so much
I don’t remember how I found your page, but this content speaks to me so much. Very calm and the book content is my thing. Keep up the great work and Happy Holidays!
I love watching your vlogs, right now you’re talking about Harry Potter , Christmas, taylor swift and books(probably my favorite things). Question of the day:What are you favourite female characters??(btw I think you would love the cruel prince, it low-key filled the void after reading the powerless series and it’s a real enemies to lovers)
I feel like Call Me By Your Name is a good slowburn with lots of yearning, it‘s a very summery story set in Italy so I don‘t know if you‘d want to read it right now, but it‘s sooo good! Just the way it captures what being young and in love feels like, the insecurity, the desperation, the longing, the constant fluctuation between hope and hopelessness..
Hey Steph, for the meet-cute, you can ask chatgbt to create the whole scenario based on what you like and the personality of the person you want to be with. I did it and it was perfecttt!!
i love how kyleigh asks in EVRY SINGLE DEATH “is it for real?” HAHAH love the two of u
the passionate yearning plea is REAL 😭

the things i'd do to see a marauders' spinoff- especially if it's based on all the young dudes OMG
With Draco, I think it's more about the potential for redemption. There are some incredible fanfics about him tackling that.

Also, redeeming love talks beautifully of forgiveness and true love.
If you want to read a book with characters that fall in a true love i’d suggest you to read Once a upon a broken heart
I have LOVED watching you and Kylie watch Harry Potter and her reactions!
i think you would loooove all rhodes lead here by mariana zapata!!! sloooow burn, small town, single dad and its sooo good !!!
omg getting to show someone Harry Potter for the first time is such a dream.
I just hope they do it well :)
i full on giggled everytime kyleigh mentioned dobby and hating on snape knowing what happens because little did she know 😭😭😭 also this makes me so excited to rewatch the movies again even though i binged them all last year in december too lmao (i'm waiting until the 19th because that's when my exams end and winter break starts)
video idea!! weekly vlog of you and kyleigh listening to taylor swifts entire discography album by album and ranking the best-least favourite songs from that album. also watching HP too🫶🏼
love steph's vlogmas season
silver lining by maggie osborne! it’s summary didn’t intrigue me much but the execution was brilliant. one of the best female lead written in romance and the pining is just chef’s kiss. also beautifully written!
Steph please please please, if you haven't, read all the young dudes on ao3!!!!! It's about the marauders and it's also slow burn, like years. it's literally so amazing in my mind it is canon
This is like my second time ever commenting on a youtube video and they were both this month on steph's videos! QUESTION: if someone were to write a book about you:
1) who would be the author
2) what would be the main trope
3) who would be the male lead
4) where woould it be set
I really love your videos 💗
I hope she answers this one! Such a fun question for book lovers
your journey alone is so comforting and inspiring steph, i can't believe the harry potter marathon is over i was loving kyleigh's reactions 🫶🏻💕 i loved another vlogmas
Read kennedy ryan books, they are more about emotional connection than smut. Also check out Mia sheridan and tia Williams books
YOU ARE SOOOO RIGHT ABOUT ROMANCE BOOK NOW!! I can’t find a good old fashioned slow burn for the life of me
not enough longing & yearning slow burn romance in american books/shows so i’ve been very into kdramas lately, highly recommend!
its so exciting to see your vlogmas videos everyday while I have my dinner. And its even better to see kylie go through the emotional harry potter rollercoaster we all go through. Loads of love, happy christmas!
watching this right now with a cup of tea and my candles lit bc whenever a new vlogmas is posted, I literally get into such a cozy mood for the evening (your vlogs come out at 7pm here in south africa so its my ultimate wind-down routine for the evening lol 🫖🕯💗). my question of the day is: what's your favourite tea flavour?? love you!
I recommend “If he had been with me”! such a slowwww burn I couldn’t put the book down waiting to see if the characters get together or not 👀🥰
"You have your mothers eyes" crushes my soul every time
i don't know how to explain it but to me you feel like a warm cup of coffee on a cold day
Once upon a broken heart series has such good yearning and angst!!
girl i feel you with the slow burn books, i’ve just read two mariana zapata books and i’m obsessed now.
i feel like they keep me more hooked than any other romance
between friends and lovers is my favorite romance of the year, it was not tropey at all which was refreshing
The once upon a broken heart series is the best longing I have everrr read. My favorite series ❤. If you love longing in books you have to read it
Pre-watch comment but yesterday when I finished watching your vlog I finished my last assignment of the semester and then picked up Just for the Summer after you mentioned it in yesterday's video and I finished it in a day it was sooo good, I was giggling and kicking my feet and it was exactly what I needed after that semester so THANK YOU!!!! p.s loving this vlogmas so much
I don’t remember how I found your page, but this content speaks to me so much.
