Wow, I just cannot get over the modern specialized design which actually picks up the bales and neatly stacks them in the wagon. That's what I get for being an old gal who used to throw bales by hand up off the baler!!!
Very nice looking farm with some very nice looking equipment. I really enjoyed seeing the old Oliver out in the field were it finds itself at home. This is a world of a difference from handling the small bales here in Wisconsin.
What a wonderful video. Growing up in a tractor the idea of that farm is what I consider a piece of heaven. I Miss Driving A Tractor from Sun-up to Sun-Down. Very beautiful video.
i love that there was two fancy mowers cutting and then a fancy machine tedding(?) then a old tractor windrowing....even though im what would be considered young to some people i like seeing the older equipment getting use still
Very nice video! Growing up on the farm my Dad had a 316 New Holland small square baler. I used to be a mechanic at a New Holland dealership and worked on piles of small square balers and of course the bale wagons! Almost everyone around around these parts have changed over to round bales or the large square bales.
Had to stop half way through the video just to compliment you on how your farm looks. From the air shots that is as well kept, and well managed farm as you can have, congrats
This is the most relaxing thing on Earth to watch. I've said it before and I'll say it again ... I should have been a farmer. I live in southern OH. Would love to visit this beautiful farm.
Agree with all, everything is neat and clean, everyone do their job, brilliant operation...would love to farm like that...that farm is something you can be proud off
DesertDigger1 These guys have the Equipment, puts my lil operation to shame.I run a Old 4600 Ford,4610 4x4 5610 with a Loader. And Older New Holland Hay Equipment with the exception of a Vermeer Bailer.Man that's a cool set up
Beautiful operation! Your ponds are even crisp lines! Looks like you must own your own trucks and haul cross country to race tracks etc! I’ve never seen nicer indoor hay storage! Premium Hay will always bring premium $$$
Good with that drone. All your equipment looks top notch, I especially liked the V shaped rake ,, looks as you could open it up even wider if need be. Beautiful really Beautiful Farm.
Way back when I was young and dirt was new, us young farm boys rode a hay rack and stacked the hay up to 120 per rack. Ten per day was the average. 3 crops per year and an eager baling machine owner greedy for money could line up 7 - 10 neighbors to custom bale for. Didn't matter to me because those farm wifes were the best cooks around. A penny per bale, a day in the dust and sun was the life I preferred. Much better choice over pulling weeds, picking rocks or fencing. None of those tasks came with a paycheck either. These days the only developed farm boy muscles are extraordinary thumb speed while typing on a mobile device. There will always be a few remaining traditionalists. But, that era has pretty much gone with the wind.
Neat video!! I'm in Northwest Ohio as well and just started farming a couple years ago. I actually grew up on a farm and spent my summers on a hay wagon. I always wanted my dad to buy a new Holland bale cart. I guess it was cheaper to have me on a wagon. LOL This will be my first year for hay on the farm. Nothing at all like your operation.
It is more of a "fluffer" than a tedder, as it keeps the rows intact, to me there is a lot of wasted drying area , but then again the weather they get there it would still dry very quick
We built the fluffer to keep the swaths intact intentionally. Typically our ground is wet when we cut hay. By simply fluffing the swaths and not covering the space between the swaths with a rotary tedder, we have dry ground to rake the hay onto the next day. If you rake hay onto damp or wet ground, you can't get the bottom of the windrow dry nearly as soon. We typically have very short windows of opportunity, and often a four day window becomes a three day window. We typically cut in the morning, we fluff the next day and we rake and bale on the third day. As any hay man knows, this can drag out days longer, depending on weather and time of year.
John Russell I hear you on that one. I live in West Wales and the weather has become so unpredictable that nobody does hay anymore. Most have gone to wrapped haylage as we typically only get two to three days between heavy rain. Very nice operation you have. Keep up the good work.
My father n law used to bail small bails for horses. He would fill up a tractor trailer with some beautiful hay. Drive it down to Florida and park it in the front door. Unhook and pick up a empty trailer and drive back home. It’s was beautiful times back then.
I cannot express how much I enjoyed this. The way it was put together & all the angles were very eye appealing. I've seen a lot of oddly satisfying videos & this one trumps them all. Awesome job John Russell!
You can be sure that in America (including Western Canada) we will always be looking for a better way to do things. Private ownership of our land is the key.
Such a cool a.. video, well run operation, congrats Russell fam, beautiful Farm, I'm not from the States, but I have a couple of cousins that went to Ohio State, boy, they are Buckeyes to the bones, they flight every year to that Buckeye-Michigan game, they don't miss it for the world, and they love the State of Ohio, they still keep a lot of friends there, actually that's where they stay when they go for the game, keep it up fellows, nice opt.
I bucked many a bale as a youngster. At age 16 I went to work in a tire shop thus ending my haying career. I loved working the rack grabbing bales right out of the baler schute. I hated the barn. They were always hot and dusty.
Hay bale season! Love it when my neighbor Mr Wayne does it. It’s a shame that he puts them right away. Before he would leave them in the open field which would look beautiful in fall.
That has to be one of the cleanest farms I have ever seen,No trash,no old trucks,or farm stuff, wow ,amazing.
You can tell they take pride in the place. Nothing is out of place. Neat, organized. Pretty place.
That is a nice looking Oliver tractor. Always nice to see some of the older brands still out there looking good and working.
yep
Clean organized operation is the mark of a great farmer, this place is a razor.
Wow, I just cannot get over the modern specialized design which actually picks up the bales and neatly stacks them in the wagon. That's what I get for being an old gal who used to throw bales by hand up off the baler!!!
Great to see the best green tractor ever made out there, OLIVER! I'll take the open station tractors in the summer any day.
We could smell the alfalfa, what a wonderful setup. Thanks for sharing the Beauty of Creation!
Very nice looking farm with some very nice looking equipment. I really enjoyed seeing the old Oliver out in the field were it finds itself at home. This is a world of a difference from handling the small bales here in Wisconsin.
What an amazing operation. It runs like a Swiss clock. Great video, thanks.

It's unbelievable that a farm can look so good !
Одно удовольствие на такую работу и технику смотреть,аж самому туда захотелось)))
In the 60's we had a J.D. "B" and a pollard pinwheel rake and a Case 200 baler along with a 1954 GMC flatbed truck...times have changed.

Fantastic video and a top operation -- and I KNOW what it takes in the process of making top-quality horse hay!
Not one slacker to be found, like a well oiled machine, very impressive. Everybody knows their job and gets it done. Teamwork at it's finest. ^5
