During that time Nicki is busy doing mixtapes and trying to land feature spots on other rappers' songs. In 2006 Kim is released and is still on contract with Atlantic and expresses that she has a new style and direction she wanted to take. Atlantic told her no. Lil Kim meets up with Baby and Lil Wayne during this episode of her career. Baby and Wayne had already been hearing about Nicki and got introduced to her through Gucci Mane I believe. While Kim believes that Cash Money is courting her to come work with them she is still on contract and cannot record any real projects until she can get out of the contract. Mean while she was still dropping fire on some others' songs but couldnt really do too much. So while Kim is working on a new style Nicki is being prepped to steal it and run. Which is what happened when Nicki's firts EP dropped in 2007. All of the promo material done for Nicki was eerily reminiscent to all of Lil Kim's promo material. Cash Money took Kim's Blueprint and used it for Nicki while Kim began another court battle with the Trackstarz. This is all spanning from the time she went to prison in 2005 to leaving Atlantic over creative rights and seeking a partnership with Cash Money in 2006 to being played by all parties mentioned, Cash Money, Nicki Minaj, The Trackstarz and Atlantic.
