The Lion laying down with the Lamb is BEAUTIFUL! WOW!
Your inlay work is amazing. I'm sure we all would love to see a video of the inlay process.
Hey man that is the best sounding most balanced sounding acoustic I’ve ever heard. Not sure if the way you recorded it adds, takes away or accurately reproduces what it sounds like, but whatever it is sounds incredible. I mainly play electric so I’m no expert but I have good ears. Craftsmanship is outstanding as well. I love watching your channel.
Just love what you do, I alway pass on your videos to my two older brothers I have been trying to build a guitar but my health slowed me down to crawl. I replaced a top vendor and put our bevel in it. That is as far as I have been able to get done. You are my go to inspiration
The sound is so rich and full, with a killer base. As a former cabinet maker (now Pastor), I can appreciate all the work that goes into making such a beautiful instrument. Bravo!!! If I ever had the money (not that it is likely), this sound is what I would go for. Keep up the great work!
The fact that each of your custom guitars tell a beautiful story is just way too amazing. You inspire me not to give up as I learn to build guitars and experiment with local tone woods . Much love from Uganda!
Nothing wrong with playing the same songs over and over, gives us a great sense of the nuances of each models difference!! Absolutely beautiful!
I'm amazed to the sound of the guitar, wow. Just wow. In what I'm just hearing, the sound really resonates good to the wood, that even when playing you can feel the voice of the guitar. Just enough vibration to the body of the guitar etc. That gives a good connection of the player to the guitar. But yah. Just , wow, amazing guitar. A real work of art.
Wow! The sound and esthetic are outstanding!!
Absolutely beautiful craftsmanship!
It sounds wonderful
What a lovely guitar. Beautiful craftmanship.
ABSOLUTELY beautiful build!
Man your inlay work is on another level. Really Beautiful work.
Thank you very much!
Gorgeous guitar and a luthier that can not only actually play a guitar but play exceptionally well! Excellent!
Damn that guitar! What a beautiful piece of functional art.
I am planning to build my first accoustic steel guitar after a few successful nylon classical, so these serious are really encouraging.
Thanks for these videos and your sense of joy.
From Cabo Verde
Greetings from the Czech Republic. I follow your channel and it is the best thing I have seen on the net. You are an unattainable inspiration to me. Incredible work and heart. Thank you.
Very cool. I remember from a precious video that Chris mentioned that the part of the top above the transverse brace is not super important to the resonance and volume of the guitar, so it makes perfect sense to use that part of the soundboard for the sound port. Beautiful built and engineered!
My jaw was on the floor for much of this video. I play for church too. Probably my favorite guitar in the world right here. Visually and sonically. Great job
Thanks so much.
I love this guitar and all it stands for. Brilliant craftsmanship.
Really glad you did this video. The Da Vinci is one of my dream guitars. Im glad I got to hear it. Ive also been wanting to hear the explanation of that sound hole for a long time.
So sick!! That Brazilian Is stunning
I just think this is absolutely fantastic! This is not a guitar for a performer, but it might be the ultimate guitar for a home player. Fun, Fun, Fun!
That IS a gorgeous sounding guitar!!
what a beautiful guitar....wow
Very well done Chris. This is one of those videos where I didn't realize I needed a Da Vinci.
Your craftsmanship shows! Let me encourage you with Proverbs 22:29.
Do you see a man skillful in his work? He will stand before kings; he will not stand before obscure men.
Beautiful guitar, beautiful sound. Wow. Your experience shows here for sure.
A work of art...checked out the price and sighed... but then I never thought i'd be able afford a sports car but I managed it. Possibly the most beautiful guitar I've ever seen. Beautiful!
Priorities. I'd much rather have a real "sporty" guitar than a sports car any day.
The tonal quality of that guitar is simply exceptional
When beauty meets sound of this quality you can say that you've achieved something outstanding .
Watching and listening in awe! Can't find the proper words for it!
That's a beautiful guitar. Sounds great too.
Amazing craftsmanship! I've never seen anything like it.
Looks like you took quite a bit of features from the MacPherson guitars of which are probably the most incredible guitars I have ever played! Possibly the only guitar I would say was worth a price tag north of $10,000 and I'd buy one in a heartbeat if I could justify the cost!
Beautiful guitar! Let's see some more of the Di Vinci line. Thanks!
Master build....sounds and Lois incredible dude. Awesome job
Absolutely beautiful! Love the tone! Reminds me of some of Del Langejans tones.
This really is a beautiful guitar.
What a special gift you have…
The sustain is incredible on that guitar!
Sounds beautiful. Full, crisp, and yet woody!
You do make incredible works of arts and I wish I could afford your guitars. God Bless you in your beautiful guitars and the sound they create! But for this poor girl I will never have the honor of owning one.
Just beautiful
This guitar is beautiful in every way.
WoW!!! Sounds perfect
Amazing guitar! Beautiful
The sound is incredible! So well balanced.
This customer sounds like the coolest guy ever and he picked an awesome guitar
Great sounding guitar really beautiful. Hit it out of the park
Gorgeous back and sides. Love the slotted headstock and the arm/ belly cutouts. The two bolt adjustable neck in another of your nice innovations. I don’t personally care for “pictures” or ornate inlays on guitars, but you’ve done a wonderful job on them, too. Most important, though, it sounds really great.
Thanks so much!
Incredible sound and stunning look!
Nice sound and beautiful build
The most beautiful guitar I’ve ever seen!
Such a talented craftsman
I'm speechless.
Thanks for the video.
Unbelievable! Beautiful! Excellent!
Chris you truly are a master luthier. Awesome!!! It doesn't get much better. I would delay love you to do a video how you bind the arm bevels.
I always look forward to video's. (Hello from Australia)
That is really unbelievable man, stunning…
Absolutely stunning!!! You do amazing work!!!
Wow what a looker, sounds great .can I ask how much.or maybe not
What a beautiful instrument!
Looks amazing. interesting engineering. McPherson uses something like that cantilever joint at the top of the fretboard. (?) carbon fibre too. Beautiful. Amazing workmanship.
HAVE you DONE a Da VINCI with a SPANISH HEEL
What do you think about the YAIRI BRIDGE CONCEPT
WHAT about BOUCHER They SAND THEIR BRACES ??????😊
Fascinating! I'm really enjoying your videos.
What a beauty! Love the look and all the materials. It is beautiful! Is this the Brazilian Rosewood from the furniture set you bought?
That is a beautiful guitar but more importantly, it sounds beautiful ! Great work
Gorgeous piece
Thank you!
Some stellar inlay work there Chris. Great sounding guitar!
Man! What a gorgeous guitar! That guitar is far beyond my level of playing but if I was in a position to have a Driftwood guitar I would certainly be ordering one!
Extraordinary! My favorite guitar I’ve seen you create! it would be a privilege to one day be able to have you create a guitar for me. Until (if ever) that day comes I’ll continue to admire your work from wherever I can ✊🏻
Beautiful instrument and it sounds awesome
Glad you like it!
Woow Chris Grrrrreat sounding Guitar I digging that amazon b&s and your inlay work is awesome ! I hope one day I'll own one of your Guitars
Sounds wonderful man! My only question is how did you support the cut outs as to not be fragile? Another question is, do you have any recommendations for a go bar rack? Just recently started buying stuff to start trying out building. I've played guitar for 25 years and always wanted to build, your channel is a one stop shop for a guy like me! Haha thanks brother
Definitely a great guitar. It sounds amazing, one day, one day……
Amazing guitar and great playing!
Just amazing
amazing design and gorgeous artwork…. i have a couple of martin and a taylor custom made for me…. if those r homeruns ur da vinci is a grand-slam…. i’m saving up for ur da vinci and hope to be able to order in the very near future…
Thanks so much!
Your guitars are on a different level of tonal beauty.
I was expecting to hate this type of guitar just because it reminded me of certain Ovations. Expect an email to discuss my build tomorrow IF I win the lottery tonight - I love it!!
What a unique looking soundhole!
hello Chris and Matt, i really admire this guitar. you talked about the bracing pattern without the sound hole, could u say more about the double X-bracing?
Beautiful rich sound. Lots of mid-forward sound.
Beautiful...
Beautiful guitar Chris. Interesting how you progressed from idea to the first guitar, then shifted to improve the design. I'm digging the neck/body joint. I think Bob Taylor does the cantilever on his guitars as well... It's been a minute since I've had one of those in my hands, but I remember some interesting details like that.
whoo .... really punchy tone.. great work mahn..
Amazing guitar.
Thats a fantastic instrument!
When I've got a few guitars under my belt, I'm definitely going to try and replicate this style. The tailpiece model could work very well with something made of maple, methinks.
Will you cut it open so we can see the craftsmanship on the inside? Confirm there is no glue squeeze-out? Really curious how it compares to the PRS P20E. LOL, sounds amazing.
Probably a stupid question, but what would happen if a second bridge with barrels made out of bone was placed in the back of the guitar and it was strung through both bridges to the tuners. You could guarantee break over angle, inward tension would be put on the front and back, might create some cool sounds as the top and back both push air. Not sure if that would create phase type issues but that would cut the string tension the top sees probably more than half. It would be a neat concept.
Beautiful 🙂
amazing!
Stunning. Absolutely beautiful. Do you voice the tops to a specific key? Is that possible? What if it's a little sharp or flat of say the note E? Is that audible? Does it limit the sustain? Or maybe it does nothing?? I'd like to know if it makes any difference really. ✌😎 Thanks for sharing!!!
It just occurred to me this style of instrument opens up a lot of interesting percussive elements that can me employed, since your fingers are that much closer to the striking surface
This model has killer sound.
Just a thought regarding the placement of the sound port. From here in upstate New York, the upper bout base side looks fragile. Have you ever thought about placing the sound port on the treble side of the bout mimicking the cutaway and waist curves?
Seriously that sound is outstanding!
It’s a beauty 🤩
Beautiful
Thank you
Stunning piece of artwork! Your inlay work is in a class all by itself. I particularly love the Christian theme of this guitar. Bravo!
Very nice mate, i dont usually go much for fancy inlays, but those ones are great!
I also love the attention to detail in the build, and the belly bevel is an interesting touch ive not seen before.
Can i ask why the slotted headstock? Just curious, as ive usually only seen them on nylon string guitars.
Thanks! The slotted headstock gives you a better break angle of the string across the nut. This contributes to a longer sustain.
That thing is amazing. Sounds better than it looks too
Do you have a video showing how to do a side sound port?
