To think that in millenia to come the work done here will be admired and hopefully used by your distant descendants. They will talk in awe and wonder what sort of people you were to voluntarily undertake this massive restoration. About 40 years ago myself and 5 mates rented a narrow boat and had the best 1 week vacation ever. It was from somewhere in the Midlands, as I lived in Shrewsbury then, and I will never forget the gentle chugging through the English countryside and the peaceful pace of life. Seemed like we spent as much time rolling joints and drinking in the canal-side pubs as we did cruising, but no hippies or hulls were harmed in the making of those memories! It was total euphoric freedom.....
