The Rieju is a nice little bike. Not cheap in the UK but you get a lot for your money. The weight is 190kg dry, which doesn't sound competitive, but then when you think that weight includes all the additional protective equipment that comes as standard: side guards, crankcase cover, centre stand and handguards with an estimated weight of 13 kg. Then it's not bad at all. The crashbars would be the first thing I remove. Then add a lithium battery (if it doesn't already come with one) for a further 2.5kg saving. It would get my nod over the new NX500.
I've never seen a Rieju in the US. I love the Adventura 500's fuel capacity. The 11 liter tank is my only real complaint about my G310GS. It should be twice that. My favorite so far is the Kove 450 Rally - powerful enough for highway miles, light enough for off road, very good suspension travel and ground clearance, with front and rear tanks for excellent range.
Rieju seem to be making some pretty cool dirt bikes and the 500 adventure bike looks pretty cool, albeit heavy. Note: it looks like the triple clamps had a hole to move the ‘bars forward?
Another cracking video Andre! The dry weight is indeed 190kg for the Adventura. So wet weight inline with what you'd expect fully fuelled. What are the hp and torque figures? Similar to the NX500? It's a nice bike, but sadly not well represented here in Oz. How would you rate the build quality versus the CF Moto 450MT?
I think it's pretty similar (the same?) as the CB500X engine, so around 47hp. It's an older bike than the CF Moto, but on the surface at least, the build quality is similar. Both have tubeless wheels, but the CFMoto has them laced to the outer edge rather than the middle of the rim.
@@PeakMotorcycles Should do well in Europe then, not a lot off opportunity in other markets without the dealer support network I think. I like the extended range ability!
Rieju make sick bikes, we just had a British lad take the world enduro title for juniors on one, Mitch Brightmore, his younger brother isn't too far behind either - upcoming British legends we hope 🙂 go watch Getzen enduro if you need a look at how the bikes work
i am between this and the new CF 450 MT, i am 1.85cm 95kg and i need it for dual purpose journeys, open road and of course adventure paths always with a second passenger with me. What do you suggest me mate??
I wish I could, but I haven't ridden either, though I have ridden the CB500X which is essentially the same as the Aventura without the fuel tanks and it's a solid bike. If you're between the two, I'd see if you can test ride them both. Everyone has a different body shape and dimensions and sometimes you get on a bike and it just works. For someone else it might be the opposite.
Aventura with tanks full: Wonder how it feels? Too much weight on the rear? We have to find out, Andre. Riding without tank stops from Manchester to Marseille ;-) Cheers, Günter/Nürnberg
@@PeakMotorcycles - You'd still need to stop for fuel but 2-3 times less often. A human needs to get off at least that often for food and caffeine. I saw a video of a guy who held the record for shortest motorcycle ride across the US (speeding like crazy, so far from legal). He added a homemade fuel cell on the pillion so he could burn a lot of fuel to race across the country. Much of his success was due to radar/laser detectors and route planning to avoid traffic and police.
That Reiju 500 seems to have the CB500 engine and frame in it. I would assume its either copied or built under license. The rocker cover and casings are cosmetically different, but that seems to be all. Think I would prefer this over the Honda (I own CB500X)
should be a useful tool if a bit slow and more expensive than the opposition bikes but then they can't do 500 miles on a tank, a fair few cars can't match that either
Perhaps I'm odd but the best looking Bike there was the Tango. It's like a European version of the TW200. What a great way for youngsters or newbies to get into some gentle green laning.
Not sure about dealer network but there is a UK importer. They have been at the ABR Festival for the last few years offering test rides. If you contact them directly they should be able to let you know about dealers and servicing: www.rieju.co.uk/
20 litre tank I like the sound of that! And Spanish thats something that would suit me. Think I'd get this over the new Himmy, 39 litres!!! Sold. P.s thats what was thinking re the new Enfield..I mean 3 litres not huge but in terms of extra miles say 50 ish..
See, this is what manufactures should be doing, stop looking to shave a kilo here and there by reducing the fuel tank, and actually put a long distance tank on a bike that is designed for long distance work.
Yup. It definitely fills a niche. The CB500X is a good platform for it too, and with the 21” front, tubeless wheel it’s a good spec, despite the weight.
@@PeakMotorcycles i think honda should have gone with this design. Also the weight of this bike is unbelievable😯, 260 kg wet for a 500 cc bike is not great at all.
It's a Spanish brand. The bike is made by Loncin in China who also make the BMW scooters and the 800/850 parallel twin engines. The engine in the Rieju is (I think) the same as the Honda CB500X engine, but made under licence by Loncin.
It is very much a niche bike for those that need the range. As for the price, there’s plenty of small capacity bikes for more than that, I guess it’s down to what is important. Some folks think the Benelli’s are too heavy.
Are you sure? Rieju is a Spanish brand, and the bike is built by Loncin in China, using a Honda engine made under licence. Loncin also make the engines for the BMW parallel twins, and have done for many years. I agree that it's another version of a CB500X rather than an AT though, but it has been done rather well and the big fuel tanks set it apart.
@@PeakMotorcycles it should be an european rebrand, if i'm not mistaken, of a chinese motorcycle called "chongqing hengjian hj500-8"...maybe they changed something here and there though
Can't wait to see the full review. It look like the Honda NX500 should be !
It has been out for a while, so there might even be reviews out there already...
I am enjoying your videos... Specially the less known brands.. rieju, AJP, Zontes...
Thanks. There's no point competing with the big outlets that focus on the news, so I might as well share the rest. Quite a few more to come.
Thanks Andrea you’ve nailed eicma!
I think I still have 14 videos to go and am running out of days.... another long night ahead 🤣

Yup, I think the bars are moveable. The bike is heavy, but then for what it is and with the fuel capacity, I'm sure it will find a market.
I want it in Ecuador! Lovely!!!!
Is there an importer?
Is it a 500 twin or single ???
Twin. Same engine as the Honda CB500X but made by Loncin. 47hp I think.
Looks like there's another set of forward holes to move the bars forward. 7:40.
Aha. Thanks. I'd missed that.
Does it features cruise control?
No idea, but I suspect not. I doubt it has a fly by wire throttle, so only a mechanical one is possible, and those are rarely fitted as standard.

Dray weight 190kg +40l gasoline is 230kg wich is ok for 600km +! So it can not be 260kg with out bags🤔
Nice video. Thank you. I like the idea with 39l. petrol. But just 500ccm ? Hmmm...Let's see how the dealer network in Germany is. For a test drive.
It's essentially a Honda CB500X with a massive fuel tank. Nothing wrong with that, but I guess there's a more limited market for it.
Although that sheet says 237kg dry I'm pretty sure it's the wet weight of the bike.
After all, it's a cb 500x with another 20lt of fuel.
Yup, that's why I added the caption to the video. And put the same in the description.
But with a better electrónics and an advansed dash sreen with a lot of fitures!

19L of fuel is perhaps 14kg? But it carries it low down, so it's probably not too bad. Probably...
The Adventura 500 would be an excellent bike for an Iron Butt ride - 1000 miles in 24 hours. It's amazing how fuel stops detract from average speed.
