    If you break that little tab off underneath of the motor it will sit flush with the frame

    Hi Albert, great video. Btw Can I use the gold motors on my Bwhoop B03 Pro...? Is it possible? 😄

    I cut of the plastic tab on the frame to fit the unicorn motors flush to the frame

  • @robcreagh5819
    @robcreagh5819 5 лет назад +2

    Newbee drone recommends you cut the nubs off the bottom of the motor mounts. That will allow the unicorn motor to be flush at the top.

    • @AlbertKimTV
      @AlbertKimTV  5 лет назад +1

      did they show how to do that? getting cutters in there seems impossible.

    Unicorn motors are awesome especially with the venom props

      I got crazy vibes with the venom props on a new alienwhoop with unicorns, so I'm sticking with the gemfan triblades. Everyone else seems to be having great luck with them though.

    Yea exactly what I was looking for after more than 1 battery these things are smoking hot glad it's not just me got some bi blades on the way

  • @jaredr40108
    @jaredr40108 5 лет назад +1

    looks like you're running props in on the 4 blade and props out on the 2 is there a reason? Witch do you prefer in or out?

    • @AlbertKimTV
      @AlbertKimTV  5 лет назад +2

      no reason. I fly both ways and I'm always experimenting. Overall I prefer props out.

    Hi there 😊 Albert do know this “new kind” of ultra light quads named Tooth pick? KebabFPV made several videos on it. They are sub 50g with 65mm props, they fly awesome and don’t make any noise. I think it start to became a big thing ! They are plenty of motors coming out especially for this category.

    • @AlbertKimTV
      @AlbertKimTV  5 лет назад +2

      Yes, I'm well aware of the Gemfan 65mm prop on brushless motors. I have builds on my channel from April 2018. I have many builds with different motors and that prop.

  • @scottopsahl3205

    For me a more "general purpose" motor is the way to go. I'd have to dedicate a whoop just for the Unicorn motors, which doesn't seem practical.

    • @AlbertKimTV
      @AlbertKimTV  5 лет назад +2

      To each his own. Some other guy will say its the Unicorn motor or bust.

  • @UrbanSleepersOfficial

    I’m curious about the venom props on the unicorn motors. When you get your hands on some Venoms, you should definitely try to do a review? I have an Eachine E010 that I’ve upgraded to insane motors and cut two blades off the stock props to make them bi-blades. It’s got a lot more punch that way.

  • @charleswarwick4849
    @charleswarwick4849 5 лет назад +4

    The unicorns always seemed a little gimmicky to me because they just destroy batteries and you have to let them cool off between flights or they will burn out quickly. Clearly have to be really careful with them and if you want power you should be flying brushless, brushed has been great for proximity control not so much for top speed and acro. My $.02

    • @croeitusd5731
      @croeitusd5731 5 лет назад +1

      they're fun for certain races that don't allow brushless (yet!). Most people I know still run awesomesauce, probably because it's a lot more reliable and practical. fwiw, I still get close to 3 min on triblades using good 260mah and 225mah sticks, so it's doable.

  • @miketech2
    @miketech2 5 лет назад +1

    What?!?!?!
    You get 4-4.5 minutes on the gold motors????! 😲
    I just switched to the HQ prop and it added 45secs (and way smoother) but I’m still under 3min

    • @AlbertKimTV
      @AlbertKimTV  5 лет назад +2

      I'm using the Eachine prop and a 300mah 1S GNB HV to get those flight times. Normal flying around 30-40% throttle most of the time. If I fly acro with a lot of throttle above 60%, I get 3 minutes.

      What voltage is recommended on the 250 to 300mah batteries on the Osd? 3.2v or so? I think i get 3-4 min on 3 blades with my beebrain lite, dsm2 setup.

      @@miketech2 oh i bet, mostly just joking around. Most of the guys in my group got on the brushless craze, some still have a brushed as a backup but either 75x, m7 or tinyhawk, we setup race tracks that take advantage of the power and speed

    • @AlbertKimTV
      @AlbertKimTV  5 лет назад +2

      If you setup a tight small track with a lot of turns, the brushed whoops will usually beat the brushless because the track type negates their power advantage.
