If you're here for an assignment, here's some notes. Not really anything too technical in the video FYI:
    • Took business over at twenty five years old
    ○ Watched every second
    ○ Tyrant owner
    ○ Now trusting and gives away power
    • Power of responsibility
    ○ You have the choice
    ○ Most people are victims of the circumstance
    ○ Choose a conversation
§ Supporting other in their problems not making the employees the problems
    § Approaching things differently
    • Dynamic company with good results
    ○ Open up individual's creativity
    ○ Be aligned on the same purpose
    ○ Let people contribute in their own way
    • Contest for personal growth and development
    ○ Coach each other
    ○ Intention is to empower each other
    ○ Make sure they can hear the part that is powerful for them
    • The future is unknown, which people dislike
    ○ If you're willing to allow for the uncertainty of the future you can notice anything is possible
    ○ Not a figure it out phenomenon, a feel it out phenomenon
    • People aren't numbers

Someone pls help me to answer these questions
How does Pike Place Fish create an environment for workers to achieve their maximum potential?
What role does John Yokoyama play?
What roles do socialization and mentoring play in creating and nurturing this atmosphere?

I have known, loved and trained with the original FISH video (still have my VHS version) for decades. DECADES! How did that globally inspiring video devolve into this terrible presentation? Whoever produced this video called 'Management By Inspiration' ...they need to watch the original FISH video. Watching this, desperately hoping for content that matches my ability to be a motivational trainer...I am very sad. I remember the transfer from vhs to dvd and the terrible change in the score. The sad music was the first sign. But now, in a post pandemic world, where the original FISH VIDEO is more relevant and organic and improvisational, I use and need THAT more than ever. Maybe it was the editor. Maybe it was the crew tossing FISH in the 1990's. But this isn't that.

I still have no idea why my Professor chose this video or what the message even is lol
Maybe it's because they wanted to be "world famous" and even after googling "Pike place f-" I still don't see them pop up in my auto-filler lmao.

His wife worked there , but I don't see any women in this business

    • @yesand5536
      @yesand5536 Год назад

How many women want to work in a fish market, unless it's a family business, they're migrants or they're rough'n'tumble? Same with bricklaying. You can create a million places for females, and they hardly ever come. You could even say that if a female goes "ewww" at the thought of laying tarmac on a road in an arid region, ignore it because it's just cultural baggage and sexism, and make them go out to work 10 hrs a day in the heat laying infrastructure. Then they'll realise they love the job, have ALWAYS loved this type of work, and it's just sexism and cultural indoctrination that was the only thing holding them back from working on dangerous building sites.
