You are the coolest you done this job ...Yet you take it all apart again, Risking damage to your panels again to show us an idea to do this job. You are a good man.
I don't know what people are complaining about. I did buy a trim tool set but otherwise followed your video and it was a lot easier than trying to figure it out myself.
This is like the only video out there for this model of car. I referenced it several times - even though I'm installing a wired backup camera (note: there is a port below the light and a hole in the body that will allow you to enter the cabin with the RCA jack). Thanks Yinghong!
@@yinghongcao3275 Yes. It is about 5 inches below the tail light. It is about 2 inches wide and 3/4 inches tall. You can easily drill through that. Pull back the inside trunk area plastic panel and you should be able to fish a wire to it.
I have a Honda 2009 CRV and I just ordered an Android Auto screen with a wired backup camera. Thank you for this video as I am sure that it will be helpful when I do my camera installation.
Thank You, Yinghong Cao. God bless. Kudos to you - I just installed Auto-Vox M1W wireless backup camera in my 2010 Honda CRV following your instructions!. Awesome instructions. Found exactly as you said it!. No issues whatsoever!. Thanks.
Thank you for the video instructions. i just installed similar combo on my CRV. For me, the hardest part was taking the door apart but thanks to your instructions that was not hard.
Thank you. Very clear and simple instructions. I am installing the exact same system to my wife's '09 CR-V. For the power cable pass-through, I will try to pierce a neat hole in the rubber grommet (upper left corner of hatch) using a hot nail. Question: have you experienced any difficulty/failure of the adhesive attachment for the transmitter module: Thank you again.
Successful, except found it very difficult to remove the liner. I got the smaller ones off, then drilled a small hole in the back liner and "fished' the wires through. just have to patch the hole as invisibly as possible. Had a busy afternoon, but got it done!
The wireless camera and signal receiving cable are packed in two boxes. Some websites sell them separately. Look carefully if the price is much lower that this one. Make sure it does give you both, not just the camera without the receiving cable. This receiving cable is required to charge and supply image to the GPS. regular GPS power cable won't receive signal from the camera.
The wireless camera model is: Garmin BC 30 Wireless Backup Camera. You can find it on Amazon. There is an option you can buy the compatible Garmin GPS together. If you have one already, make sure it has the compatible feature that can receive signal from the camera. Time flies, the wireless camera has been working faithfully for 8 years and has become an integral part of the car. Below is the link I found on Amazon. www.amazon.com/Garmin-BC-Wireless-Backup-Camera/dp/B00RVGXYJK/ref=sr_1_1?crid=3297WBO44IKES&dib=eyJ2IjoiMSJ9.mvTozwlESRJa3iX4SL9uQjLaEoNQLdijZ4EoTG_qQ5L8XoVbvQV7O_XGOCJzHyxs5BIFy4cwMXjorpqPJmTn9Gw_PKjpW68btahGllaguxzPLBwAhBJnqt4mv3N2l9EkrN_d_a-OyssypOV-rfiCcRFswYYWGM9d3RvGmf6-n14Q2OYqs2tvVb7lBn8PSmzd_YRCLhJ8aJ5ettSsD1UlEvDGI6LyEQh6rRYyZc5NBy0.WlLwnhgaWtwszpodQpgGd58e6wrP_NXsS8Vhe0cnVN0&dib_tag=se&keywords=garmin%2Bbc30%2Bwireless%2Bbackup%2Bcamera&qid=1725144004&sprefix=garmin%2Bbc30%2B%2Caps%2C172&sr=8-1&th=1
Great video, thanks to you and your camera person. That looked like my garage, right down the the hanging ladder garage door opener and grass catcher on the wall... wait a minute, I better go check and see if you installed it on my car. :)
The wired camera needs more work. You'll still install camera and drill holes to put cables inside, one cable to connect to reverse power. Then you'll have to run another cable through the wall or floor in the cabin to reach a screen on the dashboard. A lot more work that I don't like.
Is it possible to install on a 2002 crv? Im not sure cuz the back has the tire on the right side and the license plate is to the left which makes it not centered. I figure maaaaybe possible? Great video btw.
Maybe. The principle shall remain same. You may install it above the license plate on the left, not centered, but still gives you a helpful back view when backup. The key point is to safely remove the plastic panel of the tail door and the light assembly on the rear right side. Good luck if you decide to try.
It is Garmin BC 30 wireless camera, and its matching receiver power cable. The product is unavailable now. You might try the newer versions such as BC 50. I don't have experience on this. Good luck to you. Some people run under floor mat. Some people run through side panel. Both involve a lot of work and have exposed cable around the dash board. That's why I chose wireless type, in which the cable is hidden inside the panel of the back door.
You may need a handyman to help. Simple version: you peer off the skin of both wires and wrap/tie the naked wires together, then wrap them with electric tape (black) to prevent shortage. Official version: you buy the wire connecting plugs or solder them together, then wrap with tapes.
2010 model, shall be same for the model year from 2007 to 2011. I guess Honda likely keep same design pattern in the new model 2012 to now. But you have to confirm yourself.

Ground connection is for high voltage 120V or higher. This is a small voltage 12V electronic device. I believe it doesn't need a ground connection. Actually, even many devices, such as computer charger that uses 120 V power, only have two pins, which means the ground connection is not connected even you have it in the extension cord or wall socket.

Thanks for taking the time to do this. I love that you simply explain the process. Thanks to your daughter too for her great camera work .
Thank you for explaining which one is positive and which one is negative. I’ve been stuck for hours trying to find a good enough video.

10 mm wrench socket to unscrew the door handle. The screws on the CR-V are all in metric unit.

Why is the green wire positive? Green is usually ground.
That's how it works here. My memory about the wiring is fading away, can't tell you why. Sorry.

It says wireless but yet there are wires, huh false advertising.
Wireless in terms of it connecting the camera with the front screen. Eliminating the need for running wires to the front.
