@@TheTTony444 I don't think anyone at all is arguing about HZD having a sequel vs Bloodborne. Also I'm not trying to be mean here, but acting like 7.46 million sales on one platform should be dismissed is a *wild* observation by people. ONLY 7.46 million. ONLY.
fr, they'll spend $400 million on a soulless, DOA game, but won't invest 10% of that in a remaster / PC release of a beloved game that will generate great returns.
The only FromSoft entries that belong to Sony are Demon's Souls and Bloodborne. The Dark Souls trilogy and Elden Ring all belong to Bandai Namco, and Sekiro Shadows Die Twice belongs to Activision.
@@NexusKin Fromsoft actually bought the Elden Ring trademark from Bandai, which means that Bandai isn't naming anything "Elden Ring" unless Fromsoft consents. Even if someone else makes an Elden Ring 2 or whatever, it can't be called that nor use any of the branding associated with it. Something like that. Fromsoft was probably concerned that Bandai was going to crutch into ER by stretching it in every direction possible. From manga no one cares about to mobile games, or worse.

But I know that they didn't really appreciate the overwhelming straight white masculanity and biker vibes in Days Gone either.
From software have said multiple times that games whole mechanics are tied to 30 fps there will be desync at higher frames they would have to redo all the animations.
Can’t wait for the bloodbourne show. Starring The Rock as the hunter, Pedro Pascal as the hunter in a wheelchair, Jack Black as a main boss, and Chris Pratt for some reason. If Gabe dies and Valve doesn't go all evil corporation, I'd actually be down for them to take over gaming as a whole. But then again, that's likely impossible.
@@PluuuumE Nah Valve is no better. It's completely stagnant, mostly made up of nepo-babies and long time associates if I had to guess, they literally choose when to work. Valve would have no incentive to make games and would just continue sitting on Steam forever raking in the bag like they do now.
Sony: “we need more IP’s!” Also Sony : inFamous, Killzone, Jak & Daxter, Twisted Metal, Syphon Filter, Sly Cooper, Resistance, SOCOM, Motorstorm. Sitting on top of a graveyard and yet they do nothing about it!!!
Regarding Prince of Persia: there's a whole bunch of other reasons why it didn't blow up. 1. The game wasn't on Steam day 1 because Ubisoft (until recently) has been actively trying to peddle their own launcher. 2. It was a side-scroller. That's completely okay, and is faithful to the og Prince of Persia pre-Sand trilogy. But when people asked for a revival, many (me included) were referring to something akin to the Sand trilogy. 3. Ubisoft
Yeah, when I played PoP1, I was enamored by it. I didn't think it could get any better. But, when they dropped that sick ass trailer for PoP2 and "I Stand Alone" by Godsmack kicked in and it had this darker theme which fit with how his character developed after the 1st game--I felt like A FOOL to think that. I was really hoping when I heard about the new PoP coming out, that it would be a nice remake since 3 (a lot of 3's feel this way) felt meh to me. I saw it was a side-scroller though and immediately wrote it off, not because the game was bad but because the developer chose to play it safe with a character who gave zero shits about safe in the 1st and 2nd game. The side-scoller PoP was a good game, I eventually played it, but it didn't have the same impact that those two had for me and I just felt so... disappointed. Not sad and not angry, just very disappointed because I know they could have done so, so much better.
My head cannon is that there’s one person near the top who had a bad time with the game and now they’ve made it their life’s mission while they work for Sony to never let the Bloodborne IP be used again.
With the prince of Persia game, Ubisoft intentionally made it flop. It's wasn't advertised by them barely at all because they wanted to show investors that "no, gamers don't know what they want. We tried making a game they say they would like but it flopped."
Correct me If Im wrong, but did people really want a 2D platformer? I feel like people remember prince of persia as a 3D hack n slash game because they played the ps2 ones.
Its kind of like that meme of the mother(Sony) in the pool holding it's child (Horizon) in arms, then you have the other kid nearly drowning (Bloodborne) and then you have the skeleton underwater (Twisted metal).

If Sony is smart, they would let PC fan port release, see how markets trend on its demands, then announce their own PS5 remaster. I'm sure PS5 owners will open their wallet since fan projects are still considered a gimmick to certain groups. We'll see what happens.
Japan Studio is gone, they aren't remastering it. If anything, a sequel made entirely by Fromsoft only would happen or a remake by some third party studio. Either way, they won't look, or probably even play, like Bloodborne
Probably get Bloodborne remaster/remake when ps6 comes out just like how they did with demon souls, because they know people will buy a console for Bloodborne.

Would make sense, these elites are some of the most braindead children ever. I’m surprised they didn’t just delete it and say their baby formula spilled on the servers
4:06 I have a theory as well Sony isn't a company anymore, it's an empire. When an empire is past it's heyday, it's mostly run by inflexible, uncreative and cautious fossils. Sony is run by fossils who have no idea what the market wants. And their hubris causes them to believe that everything they create is what the market wants (Concord). Therefore, until the leadership and the middle management at Sony isn't replaced by dynamic, energetic people who can actually pinpoint where the gaming culture is headed, Sony will continue it's downfall. Rn Sony isn't as bad as Ubisoft, but if it keeps this up, it will be.
This is a good point, but i dont think Concord applies that much here just because it was a huge blowup. it was in development for 8 years during the era where Sony's leadership was considered okayish, and was unironically a decent game gameplay wise. it would have been around for a year until the servers shut down from just "this is overwatch 8 years ago" if the american market didn't make it a point of pride to shit their boxer briefs and have a soap opera meltdown camera over blue hair.
Sony has always been an empire. Do you want to know what their biggest revenue source is? Health insurance. Sony is fucking MASSIVE in Japan, their entertainment division is such a tiny fraction of their revenue, they couldn't care less.
Sony probably see is some issues with putting so much money into games competing in the same genre. They have lots of souls like these days even a popular one might be hard to justify
It's SO obvious that they're doing a remake ala the Demon's Souls remake, and it'll be coming out for the PS6. There's NO other reason why they just wouldn't acknowledge it in any way. MIYAZAKI STRAIGHT UP SAID IT MAKES MORE SENSE FOR IT TO COME OUT FOR THE PS6. This "Sony has no faith in the IP" take is horseshit.
As someone who pays money to not watch ads… no one told me there was a prince of Persia game that’s new?!?! Look, I’m sorry. Marketing when you know people walk away from the tv during ads can go so far I’ve noticed. But who is getting these ads and where ?
You say that, but id imagine you have very little understaanding of how large businesses like Sony actually work (i sure don't). What might seem like a no brainer or a licence to print money to us might actually be a bad idea, or not as lucrative as it seems. How much would development cost of a pc port,? do they instead do a remaster? If they do a remaster do they release on PS5 as well? If theyre going to Steam, are they going to be badgered constantly about an XBox release? Are they going to bundle Old Hunters in and if so are THEY going to develop additional content or restore cut content? How many patches for each potential version might we expect to need? And after all of these have been answered and costed, how many people will reasonably pay $70+ to play a game they can already play on a current system?

Bloodborne didn't perform exceptionally in terms of sales since its release, with only around 7 million copies sold since 2015. In contrast, Horizon Zero Dawn has sold over 20 million copies after launching in 2017. That would have been a much better and safer choice than to hoard ip and develop concord
Imagine blowing $400 MILLION USD over the course of about a decade for a game that existed for less than 2 weeks, instead of just releasing a BB PC port that can run at 60fps and raking in hundreds of thousands in pure profit... I'm so glad to be able to purchase a PS5 pro and pay the concord tax, especially in Europe where it costs about 80€ extra euros just because. What a shitshow of a company.
Between the scuffed Sony involvement with Helldivers 2, Concord's hilariously mismanaged existence, and their bizarre obliviousness to Bloodborne (hardly news, but it's more obvious now than ever)... It really makes you wonder if the folks in charge of Sony are even capable of running a company, and they're just gliding by on their size alone. Because you're right; literally anyone with half a brain and ears on ground-level would have signed off on re-releasing Bloodborne on PC half a decade ago. At this point? I'm just kinda hoping their heads *remain* in the sand just long enough for the fan-made port to finish, so we can actually play it. Honestly, sh** like this is why I basically left consoles.
Youvask me, its an ego thing, like nintendo with paper mario. In that situation, paper mario got all kinds of restrictions put on it, like no non-established mario species for characters, no uniquely named characters, etc because some bigwig was insistent on the games not being RPGs after TTYD. Im convinced its the same with bloodborne and sony's obsession with live service. Someone or several soneones hitched their ego to the live service model, and their high up enough the corporate ladder that they are gonna keep trying to force more live service down the industry's throat. And that same ego wint let them accept that maybe, *maybe* bloodborne could be successful again, because that would prove their live service fixation wrong

Oh no, don't get it twisted, they didn't just "green-light" Concord, they gave it "Deus Ex Machina" status and fully revered it, they genuinely believed that it was going to be the miracle that saves their company. (For those of you that don't know yet, "Deus Ex Machina" is latin for "God from the machine", it describes an old tradition in plays where an actor portraying a god would descend onto set, via a hand-cranked "machine" with ropes and pulleys, and forces a miraculous and impossible event to happen solely because the plot demands that it happens)
Well that's why. They don't have money to make bloodborne because they blew 400m on concord and made 0 from it. Now they are taxing the players selling us PS pro for 800 shekels "power button, disc tray and stand sold seperately". They should tax the audience of concord, not us normal people :C.

Sony also seems to hate Little Big Planet Giving the 3rd game no room to grow and develop better from the first 2, then watching it sell low because of how badly it was made and assumed the franchise was simply "Bad Product" never to do anything Little Big Planet related except for Sack boy a Big Adventure which didn't even have a create mode Then proceeding to take down the servers without warning or any kind of statement, which gave creators no time to save their creations, resulting in hundreds of thousands of Creator made levels becoming lost media, unable to be recovered or played. The community is the only thing keeping the game alive at this point, resorting to making custom servers and archiving each level one by one, giving more effort than Sony will ever give Sony took Little Big Planet out back and shot it with no remorse, not even giving it a proper good bye It's a sad reality
The hacking did give them a decent window to just shut down the servers, yet perhaps it's just other developers being allowed to reference the game, but the referencing to it feels weird with how it was allowed to decline
I should note that most of the levels that were on the LBP servers have been archived, but the comments and photos and stuff like that unfortunately haven't.
I think LBP is a little more understandable. MediaMolecule is what gave LBP that special spark and they gave them the chance to work on something else instead of pumping out endless sequels.
AGAIN, the latest Prince of Persia game flopped due to having no marketing and the fact that it isn't what fans asked for. They didn't want a Metroidvania they wanted a 3D game akin to the Sands of Time, hell even classic PoP fans of the 2D games didn't get what they want either. Also Horizon Forbidden West is selling far less in comparison to the first game due to diminishing returns, lack of interest and the fact that its not being bundled nearly as much like an Industry Plant which shows their waning confidence and why they think just reselling the first game is a good idea. Another cog thrown at this video's argument is the fact Sony had BluePoint games remake Demon's Souls, which sold less than Bloodborne and it too was helped by Sony Japan studios who was already gone by that point and it outsold the original by this point which sure isn't all an impressive feat but would have sold more if they didn't bastardize the presentation and music. Face it, the game is either getting a remake or Sony are just morons ignoring a potential gold mine. Ghost of Tshushima sold over 7 million copies on PC in one month, despite Steamies getting their panties in a bunch about the PSN log in requirement, in the end, a good game is a good game and prevailed on merit and BB would be no different.

I think Prince of Persia failed because no one cares about side scrollers anymore and you don't actually get to play as the Prince. It would have sold a lot better if it was Sands of Time/Warrior Within kinda game.
As much as I love side scrollers, unfortunately you are right. Bloodborne show sounds like a trash idea unless it’s animated The majority of expensive shows tend to cut out most of the cool action and cgi to save budget and production time
Any fromsoft game except sekiro would make a trash show because the story is so absent for most of the games. They’d have to make a new, interesting story that builds the world or expands on lore for any of those games. The story of most soulsborne games is literally just “kill everything that attacks you” for the most part. That would make for an awful show no matter how it’s made.
@@Ritokuro i think that just turning the in game story you play through into a show is a bad idea for every of their games, except sekiro (and maybe armored core), but you could make absolute GOLD out of the Lore and Backstory, especially Elden Ring and Bloodborne have so much potential there. A Game of Thrones-esque epic about Queen Marikas Rise and Fall? Id watch the Hell out of that. Or a horror/mystery show about Lawrences Rise in the Healing Church and the slow corruption of Yharnam, that could be awesome. That’s wishful thinking, the concord loss was $400 million, as it made no money back due to refunds. Bloodborne 2 would have to not only make its own money back before it could even start to recuperate the $400 million loss, but tenfold? 400Mx10 would be 4 billion dollars. In order to recuperate the Concord loss after breaking even, Bloodborne 2 would have to sell an additional 133 million copies after its development costs, if priced at $30. That’s around 60% of the second best selling game of all time, GTA V.

Gaming becoming mainstream was both a blessing and a curse. Games get a lot more funding because of the mainstream audience but on the other side it has almost become impossible to market to more niche audiences because it is just not viable for investors.
It's perfectly viable, it's just that investors and AAA companies don't actually know anything about gaming as an industry. Bloodborne made a lot of money lol.
I feel like they might actually have lost the fucking Mastercopy... it sound insane for that to happen in the "modern" era but what else is keeping them? They obviously are down to remaster fucking anything at this point so why not BB? So it's either they can't or someone in Sony fucking loathes the game so much that they're stonewalling any suggestion to remaster it.
@@owenwoods4130What a pointless distinction. The games with Souls in the title are Souls games, Bloodborne is a souls like, Sekiro doesn't even play all that similarly to souls games.
It's not incompetence. They aren't stupid and they didn't get to where they are purely by chance. They know what they're doing and they clearly have reasons to hold back Bloodborne seeing as they've done nothing with it. Bloodborne and games like it threaten to raise standards. I'm sure they wouldn't want to set a precedent for actual quality games when they've made so much money off movie games year after year. Not to mention how they likely resent knowing one of their best exclusives came from a team they don't even own. They'd milk the shit out of the game if they controlled FROM Software like how they do Naughty Dog for example.
@@MintyLime703 I think you're somewhat onto something, it's more likely that they don't want to release a product that would be held in such a high standard and then they'd have to try to actually make things that aren't trash. But as for them knowing what they're doing? I don't see it. They lost 400 mil like 2 weeks ago and whatever else they've hemorrhaged out from constantly losing money this year alone. It's not been a good year for sony and now they have a 700 dollar paper weight on the horizon that will also probably do poorly. If they knew what they were doing, a remaster would already be in progress since it would just print money and people clearly want it.
Nah. Better to put 400 million dollars into a game that will crash and burn in 2 weeks rather than making something people actually want. You stupid or what? (sarcasm warning).
They remastered Horizon, a game from 2018... that didn't need a remaster, but they can't freaking do a cheap cash grab for Bloodborne, 4k 60fps upscale and call it a day. Not much effort needed !
Prince of Persia didn't sell because the people were begging for it to come back in a AAA format, not a budget looking 2d game, good game, but not what people were asking for.
For me, what dragged it down were two things. One, it's just another Metroidvania, and two, the vibe of the game is just Ubisoft-style miserable. No ounce of emotion or life in the game at all. Reminds me of Assassin's Creed.
Yeah people wanted another prince of Persia game. They got a 2d side scroller that’s not in the same universe as the other games, priced at $60. The game seems like it’s actually pretty good. But it deserved to fail
Same here. Now if you'll excuse me, I'm gonna go do my daily emotional breakdown until another Sly game gets made. It's going to happen at some point... right?😢
Sony would rather develop Concord 2, a game that nobody asked for instead of giving the fanbase Bloodborne 2. Edit: Who even asked for Horizon Zero Dawn Remastered?
“Did it make me stronger? No. Absolutely not, that was like the meanest possible response” 😂😂😂 holy shit that actually killed, I’m walking in the afterlife right now
Sony would rather set 400 million dollars on fire to please 5-10 unwell people for less than 3 weeks than spend less than a 16th of that money to remaster/remake/port a money printing machine.
Calling it now. The fan-made PC port is gonna release, become extremely popular, and THEN Sony will give a fuck and they'll immediately issue a cease and desist.
You're not wrong. They did it to the fan made Bloodborne kart game.
yup just like how activistion did to the fan made mw2 remaster
Can't stop emulation. They might be able to take down sites that share ROMs but emulation is here to stay.

Sony also seems to hate Little Big Planet
Giving the 3rd game no room to grow and develop better from the first 2, then watching it sell low because of how badly it was made and assumed the franchise was simply "Bad Product" never to do anything Little Big Planet related except for Sack boy a Big Adventure which didn't even have a create mode
Then proceeding to take down the servers without warning or any kind of statement, which gave creators no time to save their creations, resulting in hundreds of thousands of Creator made levels becoming lost media, unable to be recovered or played.
The community is the only thing keeping the game alive at this point, resorting to making custom servers and archiving each level one by one, giving more effort than Sony will ever give
Sony took Little Big Planet out back and shot it with no remorse, not even giving it a proper good bye
It's a sad reality
The hacking did give them a decent window to just shut down the servers, yet perhaps it's just other developers being allowed to reference the game, but the referencing to it feels weird with how it was allowed to decline
Little big planet got replaced by astrobot as sony's new adorable little mascot
I should note that most of the levels that were on the LBP servers have been archived, but the comments and photos and stuff like that unfortunately haven't.
Shutting down serves with no warning is just so demonic. Goes to show having dignity for properties and communities even cost too much for the suits
Ghost of Tshushima sold over 7 million copies on PC in one month, despite Steamies getting their panties in a bunch about the PSN log in requirement, in the end, a good game is a good game and prevailed on merit and BB would be no different.
the new Prince of Persia games still fucking slaps. one of the best metroidvanias out there and the fans should defiently give it a try. im still waiting for the sands of time remake (that will probably never come out) but the metroidvania and the roguelite PoP games are defiently good enough to keep my attention until then
