We need to save these ancient barn walls from crumbling down

  • This is all that is left of a once beautiful barn with natural stone walls and slate roof. This barn was built in 1918 and has stood on this place for over one hundred years. Now it needs our help. Trees have started to grow inside the walls and if we don’t do something about it, they will tear the walls apart. Our plan for this barn is to rebuild it one day but if we are ever goring to do that, we need to prevent the walls from crumbling down.
    We are also going on a treasure hunt as the roof collapsed unexpectedly and so the pervious owners never cleared out anything. That means that it could be many hidden treasures under the ruble.
    Our goal for this farm is to rebuild it and make it into a self-sufficient paradise for us and our kids. While the modern lifestyle takes over more and more of peoples life we want to escape it by going back to our roots.

    That patio umbrella is a real treasure. It dates from the Viking era.

    That barn wall of yours is fantastic, i really hope you can rebuild something on it!
    The wheel with the bars thing is a "kastehjulsopptaker" potato harvester for a two wheel tractor, either for a Rapid super/spesial/505/606 or for a Motostandard U9/U10/U53. They have the same mount but the PTO rotate different ways depending on make and model so they are not all interchangable. I don't have one to compare to so I can't really tell what way yours is for. I also spot a "trollramme" and the knife from a sicle bar mower, both equipments that would help identify what tractor they are for if you can find all the parts.

      You might want to use some retention tricks, like announcing something interesting and then talking about it later in the video, or just bluntly, asking the viewers to kindly write a comment besides liking. The algorithm seems to have you connected with other RUclipsrs that are discovering Norwegian country life, so maybe you could profit from this dynamic.
      I’m going to write a comment under each of your videos, it might be the same text, but the algorithm wouldn’t care…..😁

    Good job but it would be good to clear the rest of the debris if you have time incase the sheep tread on something sharp. Great videos, I look forward to them. The barn will be a great asset when you are able to rebuild it. Keep going!

      Yes, I think you have a point there.👍 I also got some new motivation when I was able to see the floor on some spots. This job has been in the back of my mind for some time now, but it has seemed so massive. This did not take that much time as I had anticipated so I got some new motivation to continue. 🤠

    hello i love your videos. a suggestion from this episode to the last all of the extra wood beams you are taking out maybe you could put them in the soft spots in your field where the tractor sank . was also wondering why you don't use the other 4x4 tractor with the backhoe attachment to dig out all the rubbish . thanks for all the great videos keep it up the farm is getting there

    • @Norwegianfarmlife
      @Norwegianfarmlife  Год назад +1

      Thanks, that is a great ide.👍🤠 It would solve two problems at once. Bot the tractors are too big to get them in any of the entrances in the barn. I could maybe reach something from one side, but it is also difficult to get the tractor in position there because of the terrain.
