    If anyone comes here and is wowed by Greg's live piano work, you MUST go back and listen to their live session with KCRW from 2009. Such a seminal performance and Greg's piano solo on Polite Dance Song is astonishing!

    6 years ago I was driving and listening to NPR when Studio 360 suddenly came on with this exact performance that we are seeing here. It was mind-blowingly brilliant. At that point I have never heard of Bird and the Bee, but after luckily/accidentally listening to this performance on the radio, I immediately looked them up as soon as I got home and became a huge fan. This band even got me into Hall and Oates, after I listened to (and absolutely LOVED) their album Interpretation of the Masters; Hall and Oates. Bird and the Bee is the
    best-kept secret in music, that everyone should know about.

    Art in the making. As I posted elsewhere this song is a Masterpiece. This is like the unplugged version of what is on their stupendous latest work. Please note how perfect is the singing elocution of Inara George. And the fluid playing of Mr. Kurstin, it adds a sense of flow through time coherent with the lyrics of the song. An instant Classic Masterpiece that I wish it were available in a CD with other "unplugged" versions.

    Oh, my goodness! While this haunting piano accompaniment was enough to stop me in my morning routine (thinking I could likely port it to acoustic guitar), the beauty of the lyrics brought me to tears. Thanks for making my weekend!

    By the time I “discovered” them, they had split. (Have they split up the duo?)

    • @samuelclemens8361
      @samuelclemens8361 2 года назад +3

      They didn't split. They occasionally stop making music together and work on separate musical projects. The singer, Inara George, has a whole music career by herself, without Bird and the Bee, and so does the piano/keyboard Greg Kurstin who is actually a 7-time Grammy Award winning producer and multi-instrumentalist who also works with Adele, Beck, Kendrick Lamar,
      Dave Grohl and the Foo Fighters, and many others. This group Bird and the Bee is more of a fun side-project for both of them. In fact, they just came out with a new song/video 2 days ago, called Lifetimes. It's on RUclips, look it up, they just posted it. :)
