Damn that dobro is so sweet. There is even something a pedal steel can’t match acoustically. This dobro sound pulls out the emotions right out of your chest
Sounds like a young Jerry Douglas. Both of these kids deserve a lot of credit for their hard work and dedication. I've played guitar for 20 years and it is not an easy instrument to learn. These kids have worked extremely hard I'm floored.
That's some of the most tasteful and complimentary dobro I've heard lately. Don't mean to diminish the vocals but as a wannabe dobro player I am very impressed by the way this young man plays.
Plsud-its to the dobro playing. it's so hard to learn to play behind the ball. the fills are always extemporary to the moment and nobody bothers to teach the embellishments that make a dobro excel as a backup instrument. All the lessons involve chasing the lead line as a solo instrumental;. most of the playing is in the background while playing in company and you don't need two leads running over each other.. well done on supporting the vocal. the vocalist has the break voice like Hag. this would sell again.
You have something special, smooth dobro player included. PLEASE don't let Nashville screw ya'lls sound up. The world does not need another Luke, Swift, or Carrie. "The simplicity of greatness will last forever"This song is proof... Be original.
God This Is So Wonderful.. That Sweet Dobo, and the young gentleman man playing it such a blessing to me,, and the young gentleman has voice,, very serious voice.. and he's quite good on the guitar..
Zack I have no words for your performance on this.I don't know if you've ever listened to early Keith Whitley but you sound just like him.I usually don't like to compare people but you sound so much like Keith! I absolutely LOVE YOUR VOICE!
I'm your new #1 fan I cant get enough!!! Your so talented and st your age you've got a lifetime to bring us you god given talents....please keep them coming!!! Happy Day!
@@SilentWeaponsQuietWars Merle haggard was the original one and yes Don Williams did sing it too. If my half dead brain is right I also think that Daryle Singletary sang it as well.
Why doesn’t he have this song on his albums, he sings it so well! I don’t know if I like it better than Merle’s or not. But either way it’s an amazing song.
[Verse 1] The warden led a prisoner down the hallway to his doom And I stood up to say goodbye like all the rest And I heard him tell the warden just before he reached my cell "Let my guitar-playing friend do my request." [Chorus] Won't you sing me back home with a song I used to hear? Make my old memories come alive Take me away and turn back the years Sing me back home before I die Sing me back home before I die

The very best version of the song Ive ever heard.
There is hope for the next generation of country, bluegrass and American Roots music. Nice work on the tribute to Merle. Thanks for posting this.
Best cover of this song I have heard by far. Only surpassed by Mr. Don Williams probably. This is very subjective
Every time this younger generation uploads some cover of some epic older, I well up. They make my old memories come alive.

I recall last Sunday morning a choir from off the street
Came in to sing a few old gospel songs
And I heard him tell the singers, "There's a song my mama sang
Could I hear it once before you move along?"
[Chorus]
Won't you sing me back home with a song I used to hear?
Make my old memories come alive

Could I get a tab for that dobro part? This is the best I have ever heard anyone play that instrument and I love playing the dobro.
No Nashville will change him.
