Sound 🔈the sound bug appears again 🤣 around the 4 minute mark the sound ducks louder, unfortunately I can’t fix this once uploaded but it only lasts a few seconds and you can use the closed caption audio. Apologies for the inconvenience, READ MORE HERE: www.daintydressdiaries.com/2021/09/diy-stair-runner-using-e17-sollinge-ikea-rugs.html Also, thank you for allowing me the space to make mistakes, editing takes a lot of time and doesn't always go to plan, thank you for your kindness and understanding.
I was going to ask why the music was drowning you out... Will do as you suggest mute and closed caption. Love your shows. I asked my husband to teach me how to use his drill this summer because of you. We had fun learning and I am getting good at it now. THANK YOU
Thanks again Catherine!! Great job. You have inspired me to look at my house thru your eyes. I haven't even gave a crap since my husband passed away. To much sadness. But thanks to you I sort of feel like I could try. It's hard to look at my house as mine cause Steve and I lived here for 20 years. We were married for 43 years. Thanks again god bless and be safe
Catherine, I love your vlogs and I love your home! It is so light, colorful and feminine. I am constantly amazed at the DIY projects that you complete successfully, and I am in awe of your expertise. You have such a wonderful spirit, and this comes across to your viewers. Thank you.
I love how wonderfully creative you are and so Tenacious. You do a great job in all your projects. My Dad always told me never wait for a man to do things for you, I always tried, didn't succeed much in carpentry, but he taught me how to paint and redo furniture. You empower many young women watching your videos and let me tell you it's a pleasure to watch you work and see the after of your work. Great job, your home is so lovely. Sending Love from New York City.
Hello from Portsmouth, NH! This young woman inspires more than the young ones 😊. Nearing 70 I am a woman with my own tools yet sometimes feel trepidation re a task. She gives me courage to push on!! Thank You Dear!! 😉
Thanks for showing how to do it. I bought runners for mine but havent put them on yet.Hope your eye heals soon. Used to put pure aloe vera drops in my childrens eyes when they had sties. Healed right up. Blessings
I am so proud of you acknowledging who you were inspired by. : ) More You-tubers should - as its so obvious to us as we tend to watch similar types of You-tubers and know when who did what!
That was a lovely. So glad you had a good time. Thanks for covering everything for us. One thing to didn't talk about to much was the food? I loved the reference to Shirley Valentine (the little table and chair by the water) perfect. ✨
Oh Catherine your stairs looks fab. There is literally no end to your talents that's fantastic what you did. Our stairs are very big and steep and we are just leaving the carpet that was here when we moved in as it's a good neutral colour and very hard wearing, plus we can't afford to redo them, and with them being so steep we are scared to change in case it makes them slippy as I'm not too good on the stairs. This idea is brilliant though and will definitely think about doing the same when the time comes we need to change ours. I laughed so much what you said about you just repairing the house and Blondie owns it lol. My mum has three wee kitties and her stairway carpet is plucked to bits. Mum is having special new cat pluck proof carpet put on soon but it's only going to cost about £300 to £400 so not too bad. I love your big mirror also it makes the landing bigger looking and great for checking the style before making an entrance downstairs lol. Great work well done xx
Great job on the stairs when I am back home from Ireland I will check this out an see about fixing up the stairs at my brothers house. If I can make a suggestion take some of the 1/2" round that you put at the beginning of the stairs (in the entrance way) and frame the baseboard on your top landing with it. This way you will get a more finished look. All in all you did a great job with the house. Makes me envious of not purchasing a house when I wanted to know they tell me I am too old for one, so I am renting an apartment in Ireland. I am truly enjoying been back home still getting use to the weather changes but otherwise great. Keep these great videos coming I know we all truly enjoy them. Thanks you
Love the way you get stuck in, the runners look great, just to let you know I found it hard to hear you over the music as it was a bit loud. Sending hugs from Hertfordshire x
It’s amazing how those little cuties just take over. They were royalty once…and never forgot it! Your so much braver than I am at tackling projects. Thanks for the inspiration!
I admire your abilities so much and your willingness to try your hand at any / all jobs around the house. As a woman with no confidence (but with a new year and a resolution to want to try) I just wanted to thank you for giving me the belief that I can at least try.
Strangely I've just lifted my stair carpet today bcos my animals have ruined it. Wasn't sure what to do so You couldn't have posted this at a better time. Thanks so much.
Hi 🖐🏻🤚🏻Your amazing the way you tackle everything yourself!! You inspired me to put up 7 new automatic window blinds!!! I surprised not only my hubby but myself! Thank you for the courage to try my own home fix! Glad I did it! TFS💕🤗🐚gracie
Great idea Catherine. I am getting ready to do my stairs in hardwoods and my kids(adults) are horrified over slipping. This would be the perfect solution. Thanks! ❤🤗
You can do anything you want Catherine it's amazing! Build your cat's one of those carpeted tear things that they can climb up and maybe your cat will just pick it that. Stairs folk awesome I love the landing. Blessings so much love
Stairs look great and I love the small area rug at the top of the stairs and placement of your Mirror, real nice. I have the same carpet but large one from Ikea and I love it. It’s indoor outdoor, so wash if anything drops with a sponge. And has worn well for me. Like the new painted floor too and steps. Perfect.
Hi Catherine. You fill my heart with joy as well as inspiring and empowering me to live a life of positive action. Thank you for sharing your projects and life with me.
You’ve made a lovely job of that, you should be proud of yourself. I used to be able to do such things many years ago but sadly the old knees can’t manage it anymore. Xx
Catherine your so clever & practical ! Get your cat a robe cat tower so she can claw away till her hearts content! Fantastic job & it does the job brilliantly!👌😊x
Your stairway and landing are gorgeous! Love that rug on the landing. You are so brave! So many things I would like to try but I'm so afraid of ruining them. You really do give me the courage to at least try. Thank you for the boost!

Hi, laughed at "discipline a cat!"😺 Good luck to you!! Cats and carpets equate to scratching. Great work, you are amazing how you can do everything around your lovely house.
I'm really pulling for you to get a B&B where the rooms & stairs & decor opportunities are endless! Queen B can work the front desk and give up her carpet pulling 😂🐾🐱✨ As always, impressive!! 💪
The good thing about having extra carpet is if Blondie picks at those two steps they can be replaced without having to replace it all….great job, very helpful information…thank you👍💗
Ah Catherine you did an amazing job 👏your home looks beautiful and very clean & tidy. I love your style. It was lovely to see blondie in the video too! Take care my lovely friend ❤God bless you abundantly in all things and much love from me too! 🙏❤😘🥰

Hi Catherine my cat Princess does the same with my stairs carpet which is wool she does it during the night . Your stairs look great and a brilliant idea Xxxx
Catherine, you are such a DIY powerhouse! I so look forward to your videos. I'm currently on the hunt for a second hand, small table to mosaic. I love the tiles you used so much, but I have been collecting broken, antique china pieces (from my gardens) for years and plan to use those for my project. Thank you for your weekly postcard. Kind regards from Australia
I just adore how you just jump in and do whatever you want to do! How wonderful! I did check the IKEA site for SÖLLINGE rug. It looks gray on my monitor. Have a lovely day Catherine!
Well you know what they say about cats: They rule the roost! Feel your love for Blondie despite her 'naughtiness'. I like watching you wield your diy tools and get on with stuff. You don't hang about if a job needs doing. You have turned your home into a little palace and I know you put in a lot of toil to get there, perhaps all the sweeter for that for the sense of achievement it brings. Well done!
I’m watching this at breakfast time on Friday and you’ve given me the impetus to get to work on my odd jobs today Catherine. Great idea and a fab job xxx
My cat hasn't scratched up my beautiful wool Berber carpet, my dogs did that before she arrived. I have scratch posts of all sizes and heights and she uses them but she has annihilated the tops of my raised beds sharpening her claws on the wood. The rugs are a brilliant idea, it works well on your stairs. I have to agree about the Sollange beige rugs on the Ikea site, they do have a pinky tone to them.
*whistle* I was sweating watching you climb up and down those stairs🏋️♀️🏋️♀️🏋️♀️ Definitely “taking the idea, and making it my own” when I own my house lol. Lovely work as always. Take the holiday Love. You’ve earned it ✈️🌏🏖🛖🏝
Catherine, your project looks great. Cats just seem to love steps! As for your stye, vitamine Bcomplex will help a great deal. It usually means you’re low on Bs.
I love AG!! That said, I wasn’t a huge fan of her stair makeover but was definitely inspired by it! I do love the simple, elegant choice you made. As always, I always love that you wear cute dresses while wielding your power tools! You are pure feminine power! I love it!!

Minimalist, that’s what I think you are, as well as functional. Great option as usual 🥰
