I love how this anime makes you think about life, every single episode was powerful and amazingly done. One of the most original series I've ever seen so far.
Episode 9 is where this ending song really shone. The actions taken by the guy towards the stacked chips and the tense emotion from that moment, when I heard the ending song playing, I was like "no.. that's unfair.. my heart can't take more.. please.. have mercy" and the tears were just flowing uncontrollably, if I wasn't watching this with one of my bro at that time I would have cried like a baby.
The opening mirrors the vibrance of having life, being given the chance and ability to live, the gift of life. The ending mirrors the sad aspect of death, of how no matter how great or terrible life may be, in the end we really are all going to die. At that moment is when we are most vulnerable, when we either try to cling on to life because of what we will leave behind and what we're afraid of, or we embrace death because we feel we've fulfilled what we desired or we don't have anything to lose when we're gone. That is how I've interpreted the opening and closing's contrast.

" a bit vague, but could very well fall with both suicide and an accidental fatal situation ""I don't want to destroy life..." oh and... a lot of their other songs, at least the ones from the same album where the ending of barakamon was taken(your hands) also do talk about depression, suicide and other common issues in modern japan such as over-objective authorities(e.g. noah is centered about "arbitrary success in life" )

Rewatching parts of the anime. On the scene where Chiyuki is skating, I can't help but wonder... Who is the pianist that Decim met? She was on the playing cards, she's always got her own spot that isn't separated like the gallery, often shown in the background or filler shots. I wanna see the story behind that one...

tribopower I get what you mean but death parade isn't perfect, it has many flaws and some big plot holes. But I still enjoyed it regardless because it did extremely well in its main aspect.
Although this anime has its flaws and plot holes, I still like it. Its main message is shown perfectly, and what I've read, it has actually convinced people for not making suicide. And I have personal experience, too: when I watched the anime I was pretty depressed, and it helped me not to harm myself! So it has grown up to be pretty important show for me :) I love the music, the visuals, the atmosphere... It'd be awesome to have 2nd season, so we could see how Decim handles his job after the ending of the first season, and have a better look to the other characters, too, and the whole world of arbiters. Second season has sometimes a bad habit to ruin the first one, so people could only hope it would not happen for Death Parade, if a second season will sometime appear.
This anime changed my life. I made me realise why I shouldn't take my own life, no matter how hard life gets. I realised this when the black haired girl wanted to apologize to her mother. there are people out there who care, you just have to find them.

I Watched this anime very recently, and i can honestly say that it is my favorite anime! The story, scenes, characters, music and art style (and anything else i've missed out) is flipping amazing, it was so well done!!! i cried so much watching some of the scenes, to the point that i had to pause the episode so that i could read the subtitles! XD hahaha oh geeez, this anime is amazing, ANY ONE WHO HASN'T SEEN THIS ANIME, GO WATCH IT NOW!!!! btw, the opening song is catchy as hell and the ending theme is so flipping amazing and it is a song that you can really lose you're self in.

This was honestly the most perfect ending theme for this anime...after every episode this just followed up so nicely leaving you with a feeling of either anguish or bittersweet self reflection! The series itself was so shocking yet such an eye opener so this ending fit the mood you needed to be in to think about whatever the hell you just watched lol.
That Song reminds me of a friend who commited suicide.. as i watched this Anime it changed my View about this completly. I finally understand that death is a nutural process and everyone must face it.. It still hurts thinking about him but life goes on . The song represents the feeling of being suicidal so well though, honestly. You can hear the mental (usually causing physical) agony or sometimes just the remembrance of the agony... It's just... As a singer who started to lose her ability to feel emotions for a while I know it is hard (inpossible really) to get genuine emotion in your voice without currently feeling it, even if you've felt it before.
Truly epic anime, made me cry, and think about life, what can come after life, something empty like 'reencarnate' or go to the 'void' is truly sad at all.
This is one of the most brutal, destructional animes ever. When I clicked on first episode and saw the opening; so nice and chearful, I was like ,,Hey, this is gonna be one nice anime, despite the fact that it's called Death parade!'' By the time I finished the final episode, I was devastated. Really great anime. But I highly daubt I could stand to watch it again.
I think I was crying too hard to write an accurate sentence. Why is this not on Spotify? I stumbled upon this series with no recommendation and never hearing of it before, and of course I binge watched it and it wrecked my life. I literally had to pace around my house after episode 9. I need to listen to this on repeat for a few years to get over this.
I think episode 9 was the best episode. This song really fit during that ending. Shimada's twisted smile at the end, Tatsumi's fucked up but honestly a little true mindset, and how it shows that our emotions can turn a very good person like Shimada into a willful killer.

everytime i watch this anime i alwqys cry. and then whn decim cried i balled so hard. he really felt what it meant to be human. to actually understand feelings. they need a seconds
This was honestly the most perfect ending theme for this anime...after every episode this just followed up so nicely leaving you with a feeling of either anguish or bittersweet self reflection! The series itself was so shocking yet such an eye opener so this ending fit the mood you needed to be in to think about whatever the hell you just watched lol.

That Song reminds me of a friend who commited suicide.. as i watched this Anime it changed my View about this completly. I finally understand that death is a nutural process and everyone must face it.. It still hurts thinking about him but life goes on . RIP i will ever miss you and i hope one day we meet us in QUINDECIM

The song represents the feeling of being suicidal so well though, honestly. You can hear the mental (usually causing physical) agony or sometimes just the remembrance of the agony... It's just... As a singer who started to lose her ability to feel emotions for a while I know it is hard (inpossible really) to get genuine emotion in your voice without currently feeling it, even if you've felt it before.
This anime caused me to shed entirely too many tears, in too short a period.
Truly epic anime, made me cry, and think about life, what can come after life, something empty like 'reencarnate' or go to the 'void' is truly sad at all.
This is one of the most brutal, destructional animes ever.
When I clicked on first episode and saw the opening; so nice and chearful, I was like ,,Hey, this is gonna be one nice anime, despite the fact that it's called Death parade!''
By the time I finished the final episode, I was devastated. Really great anime. But I highly daubt I could stand to watch it again.

I think I was crying too hard to write an accurate sentence. Why is this not on Spotify? I stumbled upon this series with no recommendation and never hearing of it before, and of course I binge watched it and it wrecked my life. I literally had to pace around my house after episode 9. I think episode 9 was the best episode. This song really fit during that ending. Shimada's twisted smile at the end, Tatsumi's fucked up but honestly a little true mindset, and how it shows that our emotions can turn a very good person like Shimada into a willful killer.
That's how complex human emotions are.

Death Parade is the second anime i know that has a full english song used as the ending song with the first one being Berserk 1997.
Thanks to this anime (Death Parade), i know this band NoisyCell. This song is from their album "Sources", I can tell this album really fit this anime so well. They wrote the album so perfectly and I feel emotional hearing it. Especially everytime I'm feeling down, this band really lighten up my mood.
My favourite #1 song from this band is "Halo of the Moment", next one is "Innocence", I feel like those 2 are their peak songs so far.
The power of this song doesn't truly hit until Ep. 9. Its not until then i realized how strong and beautiful this song is. Had me in tears ep. 9.
