I love how this anime makes you think about life, every single episode was powerful and amazingly done. One of the most original series I've ever seen so far.
Srsly.. "The people who disliked" are really, really outdated yokes. And we've all seen all variants of it, exccept that one, that one was really bad and vague. XD
Episode 9 is where this ending song really shone. The actions taken by the guy towards the stacked chips and the tense emotion from that moment, when I heard the ending song playing, I was like "no.. that's unfair.. my heart can't take more.. please.. have mercy" and the tears were just flowing uncontrollably, if I wasn't watching this with one of my bro at that time I would have cried like a baby.
The opening mirrors the vibrance of having life, being given the chance and ability to live, the gift of life. The ending mirrors the sad aspect of death, of how no matter how great or terrible life may be, in the end we really are all going to die. At that moment is when we are most vulnerable, when we either try to cling on to life because of what we will leave behind and what we're afraid of, or we embrace death because we feel we've fulfilled what we desired or we don't have anything to lose when we're gone. That is how I've interpreted the opening and closing's contrast.
i actually think it's more about suicidal depression, specifically because of these lines: "I can't understand how this chain reaction Has brought me to the edge I'm looking down One more step would it make me free? " a bit vague, but could very well fall with both suicide and an accidental fatal situation ""I don't want to destroy life..." Remember~~ "I know you want to" "It's alright" Remember~~ " again, either it's about suicide, or about decim(or about a serial killer/psychopath, but that wouldn't make much sense) "I feel so alone My blood is on the ground This time I lost control " same as the first one now this one, this entire one is the big one: "I gave up my thoughts Lived just by reaction Made nothing but a fake, empty escape "Be true to yourself" I've heard enough of that I know if I remember I'll find the good I don't care " specifically these lines: "Lived just by reaction " "I've heard enough of that " " if I remember I'll find the good I don't care "" these are all things a suicidal person would say, no doubt about that. the sad thing is that if i'm right, then this song actually ends with a suicide, which is a very morbid thing and makes me doubt my theory just because of that. p.s.: it could also be just a citation to the anime, or maybe a mix of both.
oh and... a lot of their other songs, at least the ones from the same album where the ending of barakamon was taken(your hands) also do talk about depression, suicide and other common issues in modern japan such as over-objective authorities(e.g. noah is centered about "arbitrary success in life" )

This was honestly the most perfect ending theme for this anime...after every episode this just followed up so nicely leaving you with a feeling of either anguish or bittersweet self reflection! The series itself was so shocking yet such an eye opener so this ending fit the mood you needed to be in to think about whatever the hell you just watched lol.
Although this anime has its flaws and plot holes, I still like it. Its main message is shown perfectly, and what I've read, it has actually convinced people for not making suicide. And I have personal experience, too: when I watched the anime I was pretty depressed, and it helped me not to harm myself! So it has grown up to be pretty important show for me :) I love the music, the visuals, the atmosphere... It'd be awesome to have 2nd season, so we could see how Decim handles his job after the ending of the first season, and have a better look to the other characters, too, and the whole world of arbiters. Second season has sometimes a bad habit to ruin the first one, so people could only hope it would not happen for Death Parade, if a second season will sometime appear.
The song represents the feeling of being suicidal so well though, honestly. You can hear the mental (usually causing physical) agony or sometimes just the remembrance of the agony... It's just... As a singer who started to lose her ability to feel emotions for a while I know it is hard (inpossible really) to get genuine emotion in your voice without currently feeling it, even if you've felt it before.

That Song reminds me of a friend who commited suicide.. as i watched this Anime it changed my View about this completly. I finally understand that death is a nutural process and everyone must face it.. It still hurts thinking about him but life goes on . RIP i will ever miss you and i hope one day we meet us in QUINDECIM
This is one of the most brutal, destructional animes ever. When I clicked on first episode and saw the opening; so nice and chearful, I was like ,,Hey, this is gonna be one nice anime, despite the fact that it's called Death parade!'' By the time I finished the final episode, I was devastated. Really great anime. But I highly daubt I could stand to watch it again.
I think I was crying too hard to write an accurate sentence. Why is this not on Spotify? I stumbled upon this series with no recommendation and never hearing of it before, and of course I binge watched it and it wrecked my life. I literally had to pace around my house after episode 9. I need to listen to this on repeat for a few years to get over this.
This song honestly means so much to me The anime was recommended by some random guy I loved in the summer shortly before I friend I had killed themselves honestly the anime made me realise the effects of suicide on the people you love, four months ago I was completely suicidal I wanted to die I did not want to be here but honestly now I'm fine, life always gets better make sure you're there to see it
I think episode 9 was the best episode. This song really fit during that ending. Shimada's twisted smile at the end, Tatsumi's fucked up but honestly a little true mindset, and how it shows that our emotions can turn a very good person like Shimada into a willful killer.
I was thinking about this song today but completely forgot how it sounded. As soon as I heard “I’m not gonna” the whole song hit me like a brick and now I’m drowning in nostalgia lmfaoo 😭💀
This anime has a very deep and special place in my heart, everything was so perfect from the writing, hiting, themes, ideas characters, soundtrack and even the animation!! Every year I rewatch it and it still has the same effect on me
I just started watching this series a couple days ago. I have a tendency to skip the openings and endings but I took the time to listen to this one after I saw some comments on the website I was watching it on. After listening to this song and looking at the lyrics.. I just cant stop listening.. And the anime is probably one of the best shows ive ever watched period.
Thanks to this anime (Death Parade), i know this band NoisyCell. This song is from their album "Sources", I can tell this album really fit this anime so well. They wrote the album so perfectly and I feel emotional hearing it. Especially everytime I'm feeling down, this band really lighten up my mood. My favourite #1 song from this band is "Halo of the Moment", next one is "Innocence", I feel like those 2 are their peak songs so far.
Ngl, episode 9 sold me to watch both the opening and the ending without skipping. The way they show how far a human can go just amazes me. This is one of the best original anime I’ve seen
And the lesson I learned from this anime was: "Everybody matters to somebody, somewhere..."

Yeah, that was epic
that was brutal and how reality is dissapointing
after 5 years im here to approve what you say. Just finished the anime, and that part on 9 got me freakin out XD Amazing
The ending of episode 9 is arguably the most shocking moment in anime history.
That is how I've interpreted the opening and closing's contrast.
i actually think it's more about suicidal depression, specifically because of these lines:
"I can't understand how this chain reaction
Has brought me to the edge I'm looking down
One more step would it make me free? "
a bit vague, but could very well fall with both suicide and an accidental fatal situation
""I don't want to destroy life..."
Remember~~
"I know you want to"
"It's alright"
Remember~~ "
again, either it's about suicide, or about decim(or about a serial killer/psychopath, but that wouldn't make much sense)
"I feel so alone
My blood is on the ground
This time I lost control "
same as the first one
now this one, this entire one is the big one:
"I gave up my thoughts
Lived just by reaction
Made nothing but a fake, empty escape
"Be true to yourself"
I've heard enough of that
I know if I remember
I'll find the good
I don't care "
specifically these lines:
"Lived just by reaction "
"I've heard enough of that "
" if I remember
I'll find the good
I don't care ""
these are all things a suicidal person would say, no doubt about that.
the sad thing is that if i'm right, then this song actually ends with a suicide, which is a very morbid thing and makes me doubt my theory just because of that.
p.s.: it could also be just a citation to the anime, or maybe a mix of both.

I finally understand that death is a nutural process and everyone must face it.. It still hurts thinking about him but life goes on . RIP i will ever miss you and i hope one day we meet us in QUINDECIM
I'm sorry for the loss...
I love the sound of the electric guitar in the beginning and end
10/10 One of the best anime's I've ever seen, grabs your heart and captivates your mind
This is one of the most brutal, destructional animes ever.
When I clicked on first episode and saw the opening; so nice and chearful, I was like ,,Hey, this is gonna be one nice anime, despite the fact that it's called Death parade!''
By the time I finished the final episode, I was devastated.

This is legit one of the most amazing songs I've ever heard.
can't we just sit down and enjoy this powerfull voice?
They couldn't make a more fitting song for this masterpiece of an anime, i die every time.
The design of both the intro and ending are atmospheric the point :(
Absolute masterpiece, every episode is unique and has its own messages.
Best anime of 2015!
I'm not ashamed to admit tears almost formed from this anime
Ya know, I honestly wouldn't mind being judged there. Even if I knew what the stakes were, I love Quindecim so much.
2:31 I know he’s not saying “I’m sooo gaaaayyy” but I can’t unhear it ..
Damn you! )))
4:45 gives me chills everytime I listent to it... I cried so much with this anime TT.TT
Best ending ever!
I'm grateful for all the lessons learned.
This song honestly means so much to me
The anime was recommended by some random guy I loved in the summer shortly before I friend I had killed themselves honestly the anime made me realise the effects of suicide on the people you love, four months ago I was completely suicidal I wanted to die I did not want to be here but honestly now I'm fine, life always gets better make sure you're there to see it
I think episode 9 was the best episode. This song really fit during that ending. Shimada's twisted smile at the end, Tatsumi's fucked up but honestly a little true mindset, and how it shows that our emotions can turn a very good person like Shimada into a willful killer.
That's how complex human emotions are.
Every year I rewatch it and it still has the same effect on me
this was one of my favorite anime of all time… I have a different vision of life ever since I watched it
This is one of my fvaorite anime endings off all time.

Your Lie In April is nothing like Death Parade but it made me tear up numerous times. It's absolutely beautiful and depressing

My brain melts everytime at 0:15.
I looked for the full song so long ago when I finished the anime. It's very nostalgic to finally hear this.
EPISODE 6 IS THE REASON I LIVE
+Katie An The fact that they didn't show us Harada's performance is a crime
+NocnyKochanek Your comment made me giggle. :P
I liked the episode with the 2 9 & 10 more. That said, this whole anime is 1 masterpiece.
+NocnyKochanek I thought they did after the credits?
+Lord Daithi They only teased us with a tiny part of it and I wanted to see the WHOLE performance...
this song + the visuals of the credits themselves hit me hard man

I just started watching this series a couple days ago. I have a tendency to skip the openings and endings but I took the time to listen to this one after I saw some comments on the website I was watching it on. After listening to this song and looking at the lyrics.. I just cant stop listening.. And the anime is probably one of the best shows ive ever watched period.

This song is so powerful. I immediately got goosebumps. wtf
I saw this anime when it came out, and I’m still listening to this song
I had the joy of experiencing this anime recently, and changed my life. This song is perfect and so beautiful.
Most underrated anime period
Thanks to this anime (Death Parade), i know this band NoisyCell. This song is from their album "Sources", I can tell this album really fit this anime so well. They wrote the album so perfectly and I feel emotional hearing it. Especially everytime I'm feeling down, this band really lighten up my mood.
My favourite #1 song from this band is "Halo of the Moment", next one is "Innocence", I feel like those 2 are their peak songs so far.
It's okay let's all cry together
Ngl, episode 9 sold me to watch both the opening and the ending without skipping. The way they show how far a human can go just amazes me. This is one of the best original anime I’ve seen
I thought Im ok... then Decim smiled and I fucking couldnt stop crying...
dude this anime has the best OP and ED! Bradio AND Noisycell!
The ending of the anime made me cry real hard😭 it was beautiful😭👌👌
I remember hearing this for the first time when I was 15 and immediately getting butterflies in my stomach. This song never gets old
Masterpiece.
