Purolator recommends to use the Boss filter for synthetic oil changes so if this person does it according to oil life that basic purolator filter is not going to cut it
I use the Purolator 14610 as well but I use the Purolator Boss or Purolator pure one version vs that basic one your using... the Boss filter is the top filter is the better filter apparently u can use that filter in a 96 civic as well as a nissan altima
an oil change on a CRV is about 4.6 Litres with the filter also u need to be careful cause the filter sizes play a part not all aftermarket oil filters are the same some are larger and some are shorter in size a purolator 14610 and a 14612 both will work the 12 version is a shorter filter and nissan uses either or so be careful cause a smaller filter used can either make u over fill and a larger filter will be an undefill of oil
@@dougbrun7789 I use that much on a 2.4L 2016 model maybe its different on those cookie engines they make today the 1.5 turbo is the worst engine built by honda I don't want it for free
Newbies got to remember to insure that the old filter gasket is removed with the old filter! and not left sticking on the block. Common newbie mistake that becomes obvious after firing up engine afterwards! Oil showers 🚿 suck
Everyone should have a car lift like a shop... 😁I have never used RTV on our (4) Honda for drain plugs, they never leak with a new crush washer torqued to proper spec. I would disagree and for the $.50 I always change the oil crush washer. Honda is silly with a Maintenance Minder code A/B with and without oil filter changes. I just change the filter every oil change for peace of mind. To what save $7 to $9 for a new OEM filter?
I agree, just change out the filter every time. Keeping the old filter with new oil is like taking a shower but putting back on your old dirty underwear. 🤨
Transmission change of fluid I would go to Honda cause he probably does not stock the fluid its specific to Honda its a CVT and all CVT's take different fluids there is no universal for a honda or a nissan u need to use there own fluid
@ But at about 30k that CR-V has you don’t need to have a maintenance record because at that mileage it’s understood he hasn’t had the fluid changed. It’s not supposed to have had it done before this.
If anyone is looking for a car I suggest u get a good reliable either Honda k24 motor on older Honda 2016 year and below or nissan 2.5 litre nothing below 2007 year,,,,,Avoid all these new cars with turbo they are problematic also with Turbo cars they need to idle for a good 5 minutes before shutting off the motor to prevent the bearings in the turbo from getting dry its to circulate the oil back into the turbo if your not ready to sit in a parking lot for 3 to 5 minutes before shutting off the car then avoid turbo cars these pieces of shit are to meet emissions that's all it is and its cheaper for honda to make a 1.5 turbo than building a k series 2.4L which is Honda's best engine the Honda V6 is another junk with ROD bearing issues the new stuff cars are built like shit get an older car and even an engine rebuild is more worth it than upgrading to these new cars.
Meineke hoodies, shirts and caps, what a great idea for merch.

Not 4.6 qts on a 1.5 liter

Not changing crush washer to save $0.50 and using $2.50 oil filer. Is this a free oil change that comes with other maintenance service?

@@carlovanrijk4039 Wait, you’re supposed to change your underwear with every shower? Ok, I’ll start doing it that way from now on.😀

Rtv on a drain plug? Wtf
Most I’ve ever done is Teflon tape with a dab or two of loc-tite blue.
@@carlovanrijk4039 rtv never a leak seep
@@anthonynastasi4098 I was just afraid that the RTV would mix in with the oil? 🤷🏻♂️
@carlovanrijk4039 it's not like that bro small amou5 on thread it pushs back not inside filing the oil pan
@ good to know! I’ll remember that if I need to do that at a future date. 👍🏼
Wouldn’t this be a good time to suggest a transmission fluid change to the customer?
Transmission change of fluid I would go to Honda cause he probably does not stock the fluid its specific to Honda its a CVT and all CVT's take different fluids there is no universal for a honda or a nissan u need to use there own fluid
also u can't check the level of the oil of the transmission so definantley make the dealer do it they are used to doing it vs other mechanics
Honda cvt is different than nissan....u can check the fluid on a nissan but u can't on a Honda
@yactabay if they don't have record every 30k we don't touch

How many miles was on that oil?
