- In this video we will see how to make thai sticky rice recipe in tamil. In this recipe I am going to compare making the recipe with thailand sticky rice as well as with our regular rice. The extra gluten in thai rice make is very stretchy and sticky once it is steamed. Sticky rice can be served in both sweet and savory recipes. The texture of the rice pairs well with other contrasting tastes and textures also the steamed rice has a mild sweetness to it.

Steffi, in Malaysia we have many dishes using that glutinous rice. Give a try. U can search recipe by using nama 'pulut', 'wajik'.. my favourite glutinous rice. I just eat with sweet coconut milk. ❤

Steffi, that glutinous rice, you can steam it and mix with grated coconut and sugar/ palm sugar. Like puttu but the steamed glutinous rice tastes much better and feel filling too. Love from Malaysia.

Thanks for the post. Interesting recipe. I once tried making Pongal with Jasmine rice. Since you are experimenting and innovating, maybe you can try to see if Jasmine rice suits any of our traditional rice dishes.
ilangai la naanga thengai paal soru nu seiranangal.. we make coconut rice too in sri lankan style, just boil white rice with fenugreek few pieces till pasty texture then add coconut milk & cook for few minutes not covered. later serve with sambal (coconut spicy chutney)

For the normal rice that u make can cook on stove like sweet pongal then let it cold n serve with mango n the coconut sauce. It should be similar to Thai sticky rice too but with slightly different taste. (Just a suggestions)❤
