I personally do not have an issue with someone having a PGCE, I believe they strongly know the content they are teaching beyond just at school level. Learners tend to want to know more and it's tiring to hear "You will learn that at university, its not important".
Ah thanks. That's another way of looking at it.
That's false.
This true my brother, they have extensive knowledge as their entire studies were based on that unlike just having it as a module. For example a linguist will always know better than a language teacher.
Language teachers know nothings about the scientific study language.
I am doing EGD amd Mech tech. The knowledge I have is as much as those who are doing mech engineering.
@@lifedocumentaries6940 What a joke. Are you telling us you had the same education as them? If what you are saying is true then if a medical doctor decides to do PGCE he/she the same biology knowledge as a life science teacher. According to your logic it means a medical doctor and life science teacher have the same biology knowledge. nice try.
People should differentiate between sgb post, temp post, substitute post and a permanent post
Thank you Boni ❤
I love this channel
interesting content about private school teachers salaries.
All I have to say is I teach at an independent school and my Gr10-12 pupils are a total of 31 kids , that’s 3 classes🙈. But at the end of the day gov and private is the same , you just pick your struggle! Oh, and you can never have enough money!
How is the money? The ones I saw here were decent, forget the comments 😄 government has benefits and private does not so we can't say they are the same but they both have some pros and cons..🥰
@@liferesetwithboni it’s fair and some private have medical benefit not house obviously also remember that you negotiate just like any corporate employee so there are just many factors at play tbh. Some private also do pay overtime if they have events etc. some people earn even more by private tutoring which they charge about R200/h. My take is at the end of the day it depends on how you use your money. In Tsonga we say “mali a yi tali”. But, you’re right like I said you just need to pick your struggle.
I love your content. please do for logistics
Supply chain is totally different ne? Cos I've done it.
Studying to wards the qualifications...good to hear💖🎊🎉I have opened a RUclips channel as a side hustle since unemployed..keep up the good work
Well done and thank you!
Heyy. Can you please do a video on language interpreters mainly sign language interpreter and their salaries. Thank you❤️.
Hello, if someone shares it. 😊
Can I make something very clear please.
4500 is the salary scale for SGB posts. And, SGB posts salary depend in the financial ability of the school itself, if you go to a school that highly depends on Government for funds, there's even a possibility of being offered R3000 SGB salary.
That salary is not from the Department, but from the School's savings, meaning you get paid from the money generated from things like school functions, like civic days. Your salary comes from that money charged from learners for wearing civic clothes( In Kasi language we say they are wearing private).
Therefore, that small amount being offered will depend on the financial ability of the school. There's schools that offer R10 000 for the same SGB post, because they have good finances.
Love the content, can you get a payslip for a Key Account Manager in the Shipping industry?
Okay. Will see when someone sends it.
Love you sis b ❤
Ah thank you 😊 glad you found value.

Hi Sis please do a video payslip for international relations entry level, animal technicians and food safety 👏
Okay
In Durban, there are Fly-By-Night private schools. You can't compare those to Crawford, Michael House & Clifton.
Same thing in Gauteng, there are dodgy schools & great schools. Teachers at St.Stithians, Rodean, Reddum & Redhill MAKE MONEY
Durban is better , Gauteng is a pits.
😂😂😂
@@siyandankundla-mgudlwa1888 I'm telling you. Esp in Gauteng. Today it's a school, tomorrow it's a salon. They hire unemployed Zim teachers because they know they're desperate.
@@LM-he7eb 🤣😂😂
Thanks for the content. I'm from Mcar and i was just curious as I have teaching background, currently studying in SA. But this is so sad, private high school, 20h/week in my country pays around 7K-8K zar. and life there is 40% cheaper than here, and rent is about 1.5K in the city. Sorry but I do not think one can live "comfortably" with 20K if you have 2 or 3 kids here, isnt?
Where is Mcar?
Madagascar
@famenorakotoniaina7276 you will need a second set of income to have a comfortable life here. 20k will give you the basics and sometimes not even a safe neighborhood.
I think it's harder to get admitted for a BSc than it is for B Ed. So teachers who did a BSc and then a PGCE usually know their stuff more than those who did B Ed.
Passion for teaching? 😄😄😄
That is not true.
@@liferesetwithboni I have met very few passionate teachers who did B Ed in my life. The ones that I do know did it because it was what they could qualify for. Hence most of them are not even teaching STEM subjects. I stand to be corrected though.

Please do a video payslip for psychologists
I don't have any ay the moment but will keep asking for them.
My niece is in Qatar cos in south africa they wanted to pay her R3500 and she is studying online for her honours degree. And she earns R42000 per month no tax and free accommodation. You only pay for food and transport. And 2 free flights per year to south africa. She has a 2 yr contract and has an option to renew it.
So nice

The 19hrs per week is good
The private schools that pays very little salaries are private schools owned by zimbabweans, Nigerians, Indians, etc. Students would be paying fees for around 1k-5k.I'm a product of those schools.
As a teacher or student ?
@@liferesetwithboni as a student.
@@thinazondeka6969 how was the education?
@@liferesetwithboni primary school was good then for high school I went to ELSHADAI an Afrikaaner owned school (was there for only grade 10) education was poor as a result they produced very poor results for matric, I think only two students passed. For grade 11-12 I changed schools, it was a Ugandan owned.I won't lie those zimbabwean teachers new what they were doing.
@@thinazondeka6969 Zimbabwean teachers are the best, they can teach xem, speaking from experience.

That junior lecturer salary 😭, I have a masters in development studies I would leave China today for that salary honestly even though it not even half of what I get in China 😢
Why? Homesick?
@@liferesetwithboni not really home sick it just that an African is truly at peace when his in Africa that what I’ve gathered about traveling and living outside Africa. Kodw most importantly I love the university space I feel like that where I can be influential the most to the youth of South Africa. I tutored for 3 years at ukzn before moving to China n I enjoyed teaching in varsity.
Fly by night collages that charge about 600per month per child
😢😢😢
The salaries are decent
Yeah
Just know that when a private school has employed many foreign nationals, you are going to earn peanuts.
Gauteng is s pits
Please do a video on salary of graduate trainees or interns, in both private sector and government. 🙏🏾
I got all these internship @ ones I was a matter of choice, banking was paying 3500, did not pick cause I knew my maths and finance was no , I took the one 6500, logistics steel industry sit was back in 2016 and Gov was also paying 3500 2015 learnership was paying 2500

oh shame us nurses who did 2 years we earning R
R 27k ctc im so not happy about teachers they dont evn have overtime my overtime is R1500 for 4 hours sat its sad
But they don't need overtime. They still have time for family 🤣🤣🤣
@@liferesetwithboni family without money Bonie 🤣🤣🤣
There's extra classes thou... Saturday and Sunday classes, plus holiday classes. There's also marking of grade 12 scripts.
If too hungry you can also start tutoring classes that can take place after school and late weekends.
Proper independent schools like international schools pay decent salaries, other pvt schools from kasi pay peanuts, they don't even offer IEB or IB curriculum hai qha man.
I used to earn 17400 after tax and basic deductions back in 2019 as a B.ed fresh graduate, I packed what was mine and left for China couldn't be happier.
Lol!!! Many private schools though don't offer IB but have IEB. Just saying. And these private schools who pay people peanuts are not from Kasi , they are in the suburbs.
My daughter goes to an IB in Swaziland by the way, when applying in SA I hardly saw a school that offered IB, and many parents THIN IEB is IB, story for another day I tell you.
@@liferesetwithboni kubi kubi, yes that's true many think IEB is the same as IB
This one of R 10 000, something is fishy...
😃
People see a passion of Teaching in me but aii I am not interested in Education because of that little salary ,just imagine coming from a disadvantaged family and working hard just to earn those peanuts😭 aii count me out
For other people it's cool but for me🚩🚩🚩
I am sorry in advance for saying that it's a peanuts🥺

They love themselves. ❤️
Why can't you bring Real Lectures from UCT,UP and Wits who have PhD and doctorate😂😂🤣🤣
🤣🤣🤣🤣I see what you did there
🤣@@liferesetwithboni 😂😂😂
Lol that's a myth, I teach a non language subject at a 'decent' private school. I know black teachers at other private schools even at Michael Houses teaching non language subject.
I am a PGCE teacher and actually you usually have more experience in the field because most of the time you have worked in the field 😁so have background experience.
The reality is that most PGCE teachers did not want to do teaching initially. I have seen this first hand.
But at the same time there are teachers who genuinely wanted to do teaching but needed much more in depth knowledge of their subjects and hence a PGCE is a better option.
Take subjects such as Drama , Visual Art , Dance , Music , Biology and many other specialities.
Someone who has a degree in Visual Art and someone who has a BEd with Visual Art do not have the same level of in depth knowledge and experience. Hence why private schools will prefer PGCE as it brings more content rich teachers.
Most definitely they have more content 🥰🥰🥰
It's not that PGCE students have depth , the reason why most private schools prefer PGCE they believe it's value for money,, they also look at your progress as a student , some hit those 40s and at varsity they get higher marks , such people are seen as hard workers and they deserve to be given a chance. Some teachers fail to even construct a simple English sentence and you wonder how they teach , there is a lot that's happening , people are only fascinated by money and salaries but they do not take into consideration about the process. Some teachers they don't even teach but at the end of the month they complain about their salaries being little. In life nothing comes easy ,, You cannot compare a teacher who is teaching L.O to a teacher who is teaching STEM subjects ,,the Government is trying just that it's human nature to be complaining day in and day out
