This isn't the only way to do it.
It's probably not the best way to do it.
But it's how I did it.

InfiRay is the only Chinese company I know of which makes sensors with this level of pixel density. A couple of years ago they debuted a 1280x1024 sensor with a 10 micron pixel size, putting them very much on par with the rest of the industry.

    • @eddekruif

Nice unboxing video! I also got T2S+ from my dad. I considered that the app is simple and the settings are relatively easy to understand. And the imaging is quite good for such an affordable price.

Hey it's still a free $350 camera so as long as you don't need to send it back the video should have the "paid promotion" thingy.

    • @pileofstuff

Yup, that's the rules. Even if I don't get money, youtube still wants it called "paid".

The laser dot would be very handy doing external surveys of property to pinpoint heat leakage spots. Not at all useful for close work though.

I'm surprised he had a device with usbc because he's so cheap hahahahhah. Just to add Amazon has the no interest deal on al sorts of brand names. You pay tax and first payment up front. Its gotten me stuff that the wife would've otherwise said no to.

@Okurka true, he has a uni-t one as well I believe. I trust this man more than anything Paul at learnelectronics says. He lies about having an engineering degree with a specialty in power supplies yet doesn't know how to bias a transistor for proper gain or how to pay for a diy amp soldering kit amd having to send it to someone to fix power stages. I'd love to buy his guitars at his estate sale when his phoney ilness finally takes its toll because he knows one scale although the sweat from the bottle of hard liquor he drinks every night might be corrosive. His sister hates him yet he lies and states she's an er doctor. She does not have medical doctor degree but she's a nurse practitioner which is just as respected. Head scratcher.
Funny to learn a bunch of true things about someone when ya didn't ask ehh. Now you can never unknow it if you watch his videos. The bumbling everyman wouldn't be a bad shtick it not born on a bed of lies. I don't spread this info alot. But I feel once in a while is enough. Not enough to be vindictive like a woman scorned but just enough that other's know. He does attend church alot though. That part is not a lie. Bahahahahahahahahad

If there is a significant amount of current in the wall, an infrared camera should be able to see it. (or if the wire is undersized for the load...)

It's a lot of money, but more precise and safe than sticking my fat finger on something to see if it is hot. It is a binary measure of sure, that's OK. Or Jeezus that is feckin' hot. Cost of sticking plaster for minor burns will be way less than this item of excess equipment. But, obviously, I still desperately want one.

According to the Vendor Response on Amazon, the T2S+ does not work on phones that use the MTK chips: This includes:
    Most Samsung Galaxy series phones
    Samsung A31 android 11
    Samsung S21 android 11
    Samsung S20
    Samsung A51 Android 10
    Motorola
    OPPO mobile this version: PEMM20_11_C.08

Good to keep in mind that it may not work with all phones. Download the app to test fror software compatibility before ordering.
I tested it with the following Samsung devices:
Note 20, Galaxy S8 and GalaxyS5 neo worked as demonstrated in the video.
It partially worked with a Tab S2, however some menu items were missing, as demonstrated.

    • @pileofstuff

Interesting question. I wouldn't think insects give off that much heat individually (maybe a whole nest), but you might be able to see the heat loss after they've done their damage.
