this scene was so superbly cut. the slight shaky cam on the zoom ins really helps sell the scene of Mike's fear and remorse from Jonathan's pure fury. even the way he casually walks to grab the tombstone mid convo was seamless and great
I love this for several reasons. For one, this was Mike getting a brutal reality check. We're so used to Mike getting pass after pass that's it's easy to forget that that doesn't happen in the real world. You mess up, you're done. Second, Sidwell NEVER forgave Mike for this, and not only refused to work with him later on, but fired the employee that let Mike in and blacklisted him from every other investment banker. People just don't forget in real life, and grudges are held. Mike's biggest weakness was always his heart.
Grudges are mostly held in the exact line of work which he was in. Banking. Investments. etc. And an amazing one too because he GAVE him a chance to be someone. And Mike being all sunshine and rainbows went too far within his head. Egos played a big part and he could not even see it clearly even when being in the room with a guy like Tony and then Jonathan.
Mike was a fool to try to save Walter Gillis's company. Their destiny was clear from the beginning. Everybody knows it, except Gillis and Mike. That's the real world.
@@Leto2ndAtreides Nope. Sometimes, you can't fix things. Sometimes, life needs to give you a brutal reality check. You just live, learn, and move forward.
I hated seeing Sidwell fire Mike for Mike simply cutting him out of the deal. Mike should've been upfront about it, but writing. Feel like Mike was subconsciously sabotaging his new gig to get back the old gig. I also really liked Mike's version of Donna and would have loved to see that play out longterm. Mike and Rachel just got boring and played out.
@@arnavbhatnagar3857 Brandon Firla is 6'6 while Patrick J Adams is 6'0. So it's more of a 6 inch diff with angles to make Sidwell look more scary. Louis and Stephen Huntley are both 5'8, they're always shorter than Rachel, Donna, Scottie etc.
He let emotion take over, he should have taken the 30 million offer from Logan Sanders, difference between Harvey and Mike, Harvey doesn't let emotion take over. Soemone explain to me why mike didnt accept forstmans offer cut out sidwell. But tell sidwell this is happeninf and ill give you part of the take from my cut.
Show ruined when rachel left. This show could’ve went on for so long. Mike & rachel working at zane Specter Litt again. Them getting kids. Seeing rachel be an actual lawyer like her dad... such a shame she cant do it anymore bcuz of prince harry and the royal family
I don't blame him lol anybody would've fired Mike for that. Besides it was his own fault for not buying logan out when he had the chance. He would've won everything but he got petty and ruined everything he had built up
This is all Mike's fault, he should have chosen another rich guy, but he chose to make a deal with Forstman just for the sake of getting back at Harvey. But Sidwell still could've been a little bit understanding: sometimes you end up in Morton's fork position, and you have to choose, what outcome is the most preferable one in the long term.

Yeah I totally agree. I think this is also the first time they use shaky cam to show how extreme the fear is inside Mike.
Louis acts cute when Harvey appreciates his work...
My heart broke for Louis I swear he only wanted Harvey’s friendship

Like a boy & a crush
@@duaanadeem2735 This is true to a serious degree, but I was also under the impression that Louis had HIGH levels of jealousy for Harvey?
This is Sidwell's best scene. The actor killed it here

Agreed. Rewatch this scene a lot
Brandon Firla is his name. And I totally agree. Dude was an absolute beast in this scene.
Sidwell legit got me scared haha! The actor most definitely killed it here!

nah this is just classic Mike. He's always been the dumb smart guy until like season 7.

If Mike owned up to sidwell in this scene I think Sidwell while he still would’ve fired him wouldn’t have held as deep of a grudge.
This episode was so heavy especially the last part.
