    I always add that over the winter months visits go from weekly/fortnightly or whatever you do to monthly. This is to ensure the garden is kept tidy and won't need a spring clean up👍

    Excellent! You've got all angles covered. I send a list of services provided and a few conditions listed on my first whatsapp message to the customer. Pet waste to be removed before i arrive, i give a 30 minute time slot, payment due immediately. I talk about parking my van and best times to arrive for parking. If i have parking issues im put off the job. I don't put this down as a condition but discuss it when in their garden.

      Good stuff mate. I go over more things when I'm talking to the customer but probably best to have it in writing in all fairness. Yeah parking issues would be a big no no for me. Too much hassle

      Like that you ask that pet waste is removed . Have one job where the beds have loads in. Yet to have a word. parking ... much nicer when u onside their land . Most of my jobs are for big gardens which is good

      @@jamestastic70 you should have a word with them. That's the good thing about bigger properties no parking hassle. 👍

    Maybe an idea for bank details it to print them on the back of some business cards to hand out to the customers who want to transfer monies.

    If there is any gardener in the comments - how much would be tipical hourly rate in Scotland ? I’m working in Angus/ Aberdeenshire in Scotland and my charge is £26-£30 per man hour

    Most of my jobs tend to see me as a friend or part of the family . Which is ok but the hr rate is going up this yr lol😊

    I have a full time job in a different sector but was brought up around gardening and have been doing grass cuts and maintenance for the last 20 years at nights and weekends and have built up a good customer base and equipment and trailer but would like to expand the business more but im afraid of the winter time about income. Do you have any tips?

    • @TheGreyGardener1990
      @TheGreyGardener1990  7 месяцев назад +1

      I'd say you'd need to go full time to compensate for the lack of income over winter. I put away every month as part of my winter fund and whatever comes in over winter I see it as a bonus. Diversifying also helps if you can do things like fencing etc

    • @rosspark3522
      @rosspark3522 7 месяцев назад

      Yeah thats true. Putting money aside is definitely a good idea for winter time. I have recently purchased a petrol pressure washer and have quite a few requests for paths and driveways to be cleaned for spring. Your video on how to price up per square metre and using the wilks washer has definitely made me understand this area better 😊

    Do you give clients an invoice after you’ve completed the work or do you just give them a quote? I’m planning on starting my own business soon so I’d just like to make sure so I don’t make any mistakes.
