    I tried the sponge bottle and would recommend the spray for most uses. The product comes out quite slowly through the sponge bottle and works better if you need to apply to smaller areas. Any larger areas are likely to get spotted coverage compared to the spray.

      The sponge bottle is pretty useless. It's almost impossible to get the liquid to come out of the bottle and the sponge disintegrates very quickly.

      Since writing the above half an hour ago the sponge has come off and I more or less had to pour the liquid over the shoes. My hands are now completely waterproofed but I don't know about the shoes. If I buy this product again I will only buy the spray version.

    Is the sponge and spray formula the same? Or is the sponge more gel like in texture?

    Would this work on a pair of Yeezy 950s? They’re basically duck boots. But they’re not very water resistant.
    The upper is mainly ballistic nylon or something very similar to it (definitely a nylon material) and some suede on the eyelet area. The lower half of the upper is rubber.
    Which spray that you guys offer would you recommend?

    For LOWA Zephyr boots (split leather and fabric) should I use Nickwax fabric and leather or Nickwax nubuck and suede waterproof?
    Thanks

    says it provides waterproof on all types of leather but it never worked on my nubuck boots. they may have sent shoddy products to Turkey

      Bilinmeyen kişi we’re sorry to hear that. We do have a product specially formulated for nubuck called nubuck and suede proof. Also we would recommend that you clean your boots first with footwear cleaning gel and apply the proofer when still wet. Unfortunately it sounds like you might not have the right product for your boots. We do have a strict quality control process so if you do have further concerns please contact our customer services team via the form on our website and they will be able to look into it further.

    How long will the product application be effective? I just treated the same Merrel MOAB 2 boots as the video.

      It depends how often you use your boots, and how dirty they get etc. Dirt is often the thing that stops them being water repellent and breathable so if your boots start wetting out soon after proofing simply clean them with the footwear cleaning gel and this should revive the water repellency

    I bought this to use on brand new Converse fabric sneakers. The bottle says use on wet fabric. Do I have to wet the shoes first?

    • @NikwaxGlobal

      Yes ideally for the proofer to bond to the fabric it should be wet, the products are really designed for waterproof shoes/boots but will add a layer of water repellency to converse.

    I just did this system on two pairs of my Keen Durand hiking boots. Followed all directions and after drying for 48 hours I tested them and the leather and fabric wet out real fast in a small puddle of water for 1/2 a second. The other pair I tested I turned the water on in the sink and put the shoe under the stream of cold water for a second or so and got the same result, fabric and leather wet out. No surface water repellency. Can someone please tell me what is going on.
    Thank You

      I also used the nikwax cleaning gel, made sure the shoes were clean before I used the nikwax fabric and leather proof.

      +akaredcrossbow Good question. I don't really know, but maybe you just need to apply more or do it repeatedly. Hopefully somebody from Nikwax will be able to help you.

      Yours is an unusual experience, akaredcrossbow. If you still haven't had success, we recommend that you either contact customer services at customer.service@nikwax.com or bring the boots in to your local REI to have them take a look and perhaps offer some guidance.

      ATSKO Silicone Water proofer. Or Fabsil Gold if your doing a tent or Rucksack. They show brand new boots or jackets beading water, They reproof a jacket thats been used, then show you the brand new one to see how amazing Nikwax is. Nikwax is just like a brand new wax jacket, no water beading what so ever. Thats always using a "Tech Wash" either nikwax or grangers first.

      @@theenglishtrucker1849 since I made my comment I’ve gone through about 9 pairs of Keen hiking boots, and I still use Nikwax on all my Keen hiking boots. They still all wet out very quickly. My feet stay dry because of the Keen dry membrane, but you can feel how heavy the boots get, and how waterlogged they look. I can step and you just see water squishing out of them. I use Nikwax because it’s always something I’ve done with my boots, but with Keen it feels like I’m just applying nothing to them.

    Would Nikwax work on shoes that arent designed to be waterproof? Would it make them water repellant? For example, normal Adidas NMD..

    • @NikwaxGlobal
      @NikwaxGlobal  3 года назад +1

      Hi Emil. Yes, it should add some useful, renewable water resistance. We would recommend cleaning your Adidas first with Footwear Cleaning Gel, and then spraying on Fabric & Leather Proof while they're still wet.

    Which would you recommend to use with scarpa zodiac plus gtx?

    • @NikwaxGlobal
      @NikwaxGlobal  2 года назад

      Hi Justin. We'd recommend using either Suede & Nubuck Proof or Fabric & Leather Proof. The latter will provide a bit more protection, but may affect the colour of the leather a bit.
