A lot of it is poor, but it tends to be rugged. Uncle Sam sent my father to Russia during WWII, to assist in lend lease. He saw their tanks and other equipment in operation, as well as U.S. lend-lease equipment. Their tanks were crude, and vulnerable, but in many ways the best in the world. They survived harsh conditions, abuse and mishandling better than the U.S. equipment. He said you should never, ever, underestimate Russian armies. Or their ability to take casualties and keep fighting.
The Russians cut off the water supply to Crimea, not the Ukrainians, when the Russians blew the dam and reduced the water level below the intake level for the canal. James should have said something.
Regarding the losses of Soviet Troops. Consider WW11. When their commanders prepared to attack a German Defensive position, which was heavily defended by extensive Mine Fields, their tactic to defend their tanks, was to send dense swarms of infantry to simply walk through the mine fields, and certain death. Leaving the Tanks free to ignore the threat of mines. The human being was simply a low cost solution to solving a tactical problem. Very similar the Kamakazi attitude in the Pacific War

Chris is spot on. If the russians shut off access to the black sea all the way to Romania, they severly limit Ukrains ability to ship grain out and make money. Great analysis.
The question was simple enough, but he gave a long non-answer: how significant would be taking out the bridge? Which BYW, from what other analysts are saying, cannot really be done. The most they can do it surface damage, not structural. Bat it would stop traffic, for sure.
Okay, let’s say you are correct. So clusters take out some surface of the bridge. No big deal, Russia sends out repair team. Then, cluster munitions hit repair team. Sad, but send another team. Okay, clusters get second team. WAIT! There’s no one else in Russia who knows how to fix the bridge!? That’s unfair you say? No, mate. That’s Putin’s Russia.
18:00 Besides any seaports that Russia may take, you need to also pay attention to the mines and other natural resources that are found in the conquered regions... When the world stops believing in Russia and in any value that the Ruble represents (currently trading at 1 Ruble = 0.012 United States Dollar) the only means of currency will be Gold and Oil (Black Gold).
Crimea is already given up by the Russian navy, Sevastopol is now untenable as a navel port. While Ukraine exists and is at worst a NATO member, Rostov is a far more secure port and already holds a large military base and naval port. What is left of the Black Sea fleet Rostov can cater for, as long as the war holds Turkey wont allow fresh Russian warships to enter, this is why Putin has fallen out with Erdogan as Turkeys fallen inline with NATO. It’s a pretty weak picture for the Russian navy in the Black Sea, another damming outcome from the failure in Ukraine, it was unthinkable that Sevastopol would be lost but since there sub the Rostov was lost plus the Moscova and over 60% of the fleet and in range of a multitude of missile options plus its a matter of when not if the Kerch bridge falls it means supply of Savastapol cannot be managed thus Russias Black Sea Fleet is already relocating for the long term in Rostov and will most likely never be a large fleet in the Black Sea ever again.

"RF won't be able to replace Sebastopol overnight". Maybe, but, according to Bellingcat, aren't they constructing a serious naval base in Abkhazia - just another unrecognized satellite micro-state, like Transnistria. That would double the capacity of Novorossiysk, which by itself can hardly replace Sebastopol, and farther from Ukraine threats.
Fantastic analysis
Informative interview, Rear Admiral Parry, CBE seems to know what he is talking about.
0:35 Wouldn't the bridge make a nice target to try out the F-16s??
Chris is spot on. If the russians shut off access to the black sea all the way to Romania, they severly limit Ukrains ability to ship grain out and make money. Great analysis.
lol ya because ukraine is totally running the gauntlet to get that grain out huh? you just forget about the deals that were made already?
Just give up Putin
If Ukraine is going to enter negotiations before the end of this year (I doubt it), they must hit the bridge before talks start.
Never Never Never putin must surrender
Could...
Maybe.
Wow.
An impressive CV. Just the guy, in fact, to provide the Russos with their much needed critiques, from an expert in the field.
Well done ... indeed.
True
They don't want that third because of some history, its because of the giga-deposits of rare minerals in the area.
It was grain and a foot on the EU gas supply that really interested America; but they'll take anything they can get... Lithium too.

The question was simple enough, but he gave a long non-answer: how significant would be taking out the bridge? Which BYW, from what other analysts are saying, cannot really be done. The most they can do it surface damage, not structural. Bat it would stop traffic, for sure.
..."what other analysts are saying, cannot really be done." Which analysts are these?
@@mauryhanThe other ones? 😅
@@nunyabidness3075the third team suddenly remembered that they promised to visit abroad.
It is a very difficult exercise that would require a multilayer approach. I know nothing but my guess is both air and sea.
Ukraine works smarter, not harder.

The sub was nuclear power. What will happen with the reactor?
Sit on the bottom of the sea bed and do nothing. It's a sealed unit and will be safe there and can be recovered after all the hostilities are over . .
Was a kilo class diesel engine
It’s a pretty weak picture for the Russian navy in the Black Sea, another damming outcome from the failure in Ukraine, it was unthinkable that Sevastopol would be lost but since there sub the Rostov was lost plus the Moscova and over 60% of the fleet and in range of a multitude of missile options plus its a matter of when not if the Kerch bridge falls it means supply of Savastapol cannot be managed thus Russias Black Sea Fleet is already relocating for the long term in Rostov and will most likely never be a large fleet in the Black Sea ever again.
lol stop consuming so much propaganda.
I was under the impression the s-400 could shoot down anything that came within 400 miles of them. How are they being attacked so successfully?
It will be more than two ATAACMs. The bridge is much better reinforced than is necessary, as are many structures important to Russia.
welcome back to front line, yup hi jace XD
is this clearing the way for the f16's
lol the fake game changers
Ukraine is on special operations in Russia.
