I've been a University of Kentucky (UK) fan since 1978, the year we beat Duke in the National Championship. I can say, without hesitation, that Coach K is the BEST college basketball coach that has ever lived. A great man of honor, integrity, hard work, dedication, leadership, etc. EVERYTHING a coach could EVER be, Coach K epitomizes it. I always hated him, only because he was so great and dominating and I envied everything about him. God bless you Coach and I wish you the VERY best in the future. You are and will always be; the greatest college basketball coach to EVER coach the game.
I'm a 60-year-old Kentuckian and unlike other Kentucky fans I love and respect Coach K and I love Duke basketball. I wish we had a coach who had the character and class that Coach K does.
Like Roy Williams, coach K certainly wouldn’t be retiring if he had a championship level squad for the next 2 years. Deep down, coach would probably tell you that he wasn’t a fan of the one and done. In fact, except for 2015, all of his titles and big runs were with 3-4 year players. Nonetheless, he had a great career and this rivalry definitely will not be the same. Kudos.

I was at a party, when you willed them in 92..laettner shot...I watched people cry, like it was a funeral..we hated you, stay away from the state, they will get you. Then in 98... you and tubby put on a clinic. Games are just games. But when Kentucky played Duke, it was a true war. Kentucky always hated Louisville, but after 92, they got a pass, the biggest rivalry in world.. Not n.c. not Louisville It was Kentucky vs duke.. Better, more entertaining, than any gaming.. Red Sox vs yanks, boring.. Just letting you know, for us to hate you that much, is because, we felt, damn duke, coach k.. after awhile, our state had much respect. The guy is great his teams play hard.. That's all we like. We had to like you. Even thou we wanted to beat you by 50. All because we wasn't as big in our minds, because of you.. good luck in life, And from state of Kentucky, were glad your retiring. I just wish, you would give Calipari a call, talk him into retirement..
