I had a list of products I've used since 2013. Cantu was one of the first lines. I and had to knock most products off recently because I realized that my curly hair is fine and low porosity and my hair gets build up really easily so anything with shea butter is a no. No oils or butters in the top five ingredients. People automatically think curly mean coarse and I went along with that for so long. Now treating my hair like it's fine has done wonders.
Okay, so...I never stopped using Cantu, even after they sold out. 🤧 I use their Shea Butter moisturizing shampoo and conditioner, and she does what she needs to do!!! My hair and scalp are clean, non-flaky, and soft. Now, I don't use their moisture/sealing products. I just wash, condition, and use a blend of oils to seal in the water from my wash as I twist. I know the gworls say not to let your hair stay wet and to dry it, but this works for me! My (4c) hair has never been this healthy and my breakage has gone aaaaaaaall the way down.
The way the natural hair community just came for cantu and it ruined it's reputation 🤦🏾♀️ no one buys cantu no more because of everything they've heard about it but if u actually give the new line a shot it genuinely works. My local beauty supply stores be selling cantu as cheap as £2.99 and that's the shampoo and conditioner because literally no one buys cantu anymore
I liked the deep conditioning masque in the packet honey because I wasn’t going to try just to waste. The other product was the whipped buttercream. I most likely used too much product. The masque works well. The buttercream had my hair desert dry by day three.
I don’t listen to anyone but my hair. If it works, I keep it. If it doesn’t, I leave it. Once I learned how to take care of my own hair I stopped tuning in to what everyone else was doing and using and saying. That’s why I be so confused why everyone keeps letting other people’s opinions on things that probably have no scientific backing make them so frustrated. I cut my hair to the scalp and it grew back longer than it’s ever been by doing the methods I created for my unique head of hair. The proof is in the growth. You don’t have to do what everyone else is doing. Be an individual.
When I came back to natural a decade ago, I tried various products. Cantu driiiiiiiied TF outta my hair. Your hair came out absolutely GORGEOUS though! Almost makes me wanna give Cantu another shot. But my hair is scared and traumatized, lol.
Baebeeeee I think Cantù was a right of passage for all naturals who were starting their natural hair journey 🤣🤣🤣 Funds were LOW, we had no idea what we were doing and where to start!! Cantù was like the Auntie welcoming us with open arms like come in in here baby I got you 😂😂😂😂
As a person who has purchased too many products that rarely work on my thick head of hair, I might give this a go. Gotta see how the bank account feels first though 😥
Great review! I be so scared with custards just because they flake on my hair without gel but your results were impressive and bouncy! I love the new packaging but imma go with No on Cantu😂 This is definitely a “Imma let my content creators use it and enjoy their experience”moment🤣
Yassss! I've been using Cantu for years! ❤️ love it... dunno why people don't like it lol just because it's on the cheaper side lol 😆 I'll save my coins and use Cantu.

I appreciate your insight I am still in the - what I cal baby bird out of the egg phase. Fuzzy head. But I definitely will try Cantù as I go along this journey. Thanks for your information. ❤
Yeah I'm definitely not sure why folks hate Cantu so much. I was late to the party because I was using it just fine. There are of course better products but it isn't horrible. The avocado one is really good and super hydrating actually but it is hard to find in the store the full line.
Cantu has been dry past few years , It’s owned by Europeans what you expect. Shea moisture got bought too by Europeans ain’t been the same since 2010-13
@@Palehotdog it was tew gud... lets get the bill , purrr but in all honesty its really thicc .. you don't need a lot to lather the section and lowkey made me curls pop was lowkey thinking about using it as a leave in in conjuction with a regular conditioner
I tried Cantu a while ago and didn't care for it. I do appreciate Will for turning me onto Maui Moisture though. Everyone needs a cheap go to brand that somehow just works for their hair and can be found in CVS.
I love the creamy conditioner of Cantu, i had a lot of tangles before but it made my hair so soft and silky and easier to comb and dry. I use it together with OGX biotin Shampoo and Together with Perfectil Hair skin and Nails
Ok but what you HAVE TO TRY is the Zotos All About Curls from Sally’s. I use their whole line. The lo-poo shampoo, divine treatment deep conditioner, leave in conditioner (which I didn’t like at first but it works really well with the rest of the products), taming cream, and high definition gel. Girrrrl I swear my curls have never been so poppin. Y’all TRY IT. I feel like it’s so underrated and no one ever talks about it.
i'm being Silly Rabbit Captain Obvious, but I wish we could just acknowledge that different hair is gonna favor different products. i look like a poster child for the natural hair community™, but I never liked the 0-100 tendency to be like "this stuff is NOT for us" to "this is IT, everyone should use it" lol idk my hair's always reacted well to certain Cantu products, but ofc other people aren't suddenly lying if they had a bad experience. likewise, that time i tried a line everybody was hyping up and i was flake city, never again 💀💀 but it worked for somebody!
Cantu has ALWAYS worked for my hair. ALWAYS. The curl revitalizer spray and the curl activator made my hair SO CURLY, so pretty and hydrated. But i always got online and people would talk about how bad cantu is. Its not bad, all alcohol is not bad. All products dont work for everyone. Cantu worked for me✋
Cantu was my go to back when i did the big chop. haven't used it recently but this was a very convincing video to give it another try after so many years.
CANTU is the only brand that works for me. I haven't tried there new packaged products, when I do I will know if it's an entire new formula or just new packaging.
Thank you for doing this! I never stopped using the leave in and curling cream because they WORK, but my nieces dragged me for filth for wanting to use the shampoo 😭 I’m gonna try it now ain’t scared of them (Y’all bet not tell them tho 😡)
I was just thinking I need to get a gel or something to do a wash n go. Now I’m thinking I need that custard. The no crunch, no flaking, and bouncy hair sold me!!!
I've tried several different shampoos/conditioners, leave-ins, oils and grease. What works best, and I like the best, is Cantu Shea butter shampoo/conditioner. I'll use Suave every once in awhile. For leave-ins and stylers, different products yield different results. So either..... *Cantu curling custard, which keeps my curls pretty tightly coiled and very shiny, almost wet looking. Medium thickness or volume. *Camille Rose oil with Blue Magic or Cantu grease for roots and ends, and comb throughout my hair. Curls coil up nicely. Hair does not have the "wet" look, like when I use the custard. Volume and thickness is on 10. Looks like I have bundles on bundles. 😄 *Camille Rose oil work Camille Rose Honey Hydrate; roots and ends, then comb through. No real tightness to the curls, at all. I could come my hair a couple of times, and it would just stay pretty much straight. Hair is super soft and volume is on 8.5. It's like a big old fluffy cloud.
I've been using Cantu for yeeeears!! I love me some Cantu on my hair and kids! My household curl pattern range from 3A to 4A maybe a little 4B. I don't see the negative fuss about it. If it doesn't work for YOUR hair then it doesn't work for YOUR hair. That doesn't mean you have to go telling people not to use it. People love the results of a product on someone else hair and then go buy the product thinking they will get the same exact results, then get disappointed when there hair doesn't look exactly like the person that inspired them to buy it. Not taking into consideration the texture of the hair, the health of the hair, etc. You can have the same curl type as someone but your overall texture be different, maybe one hair is a little finer then the other. My point is learn what works for YOUR hair. It's ok to try different products that you see other people using but just because you don't get the same results doesn't mean the product sucks, it just doesn't work for your hair.
I LOVE Cantu products and have been using them since 2010. It DOES matter what sequence of the products you put in for the right outcome. Love this video!❤❤
Some things work for some people. Cantu has always been trash for me so I stayed away from them. Product's are very hit or miss for me. Like I use the JBCO Shea Moisture shampoo but I have to use a different SM conditioner. Lol it's a process.
I shampoo and condition with Cantù and leave in and gel with Miss Jessie I have super curly hair that was all dead and had no life from straightening since I was 14 I’m 30 now One year into loving my hair and caring for it using these two brands my hair looks fantastic and is really curly my hair looks so good and so do both my daughters we always get so many compliments. I think you guys should try things for yourself and be your own judge. Stay blessed everyone.
That first shampoo you picked up in target i still use for my cleansing shampoo 😬 i really like it bc it gets my hair so clean. I still use conditioner before and after use tho I also used their custard cream jell for years! It defined my hair so well
I don't do wash and go's, so styling products are wildcards for me. I just need my shampoo, conditioner, leave in, and oil or butter to be great. None of the leave ins I've bought from mass retailers have been any good in recent years, and the shampoos, condioners, and deep condioners range from so-so to terrible, so I'm planning on switching to indie brands, like Tree Naturals for the most part. Right now, I'm just trying to use up my stash.
When I wear my hair curly(straight haired natural here) I love the curl activator cream from Cantu. Also, I want the kids line leave-in. It's protein free and has honey in it!😉
I used Cantu four years back. I even loved it back then. My indian curly hair loved it along with Aunt jackie’s curl la la curl custard! Today i just got new bottle for cantu. Lets see if my hair will still love it!
Cantu seems to work really well for other people and really bad for others. I have had really bad experiences with some of their products. So I don't really want to risk my hair amymore
Oh boo it wasn’t the same products for me at all. My hair can tell a major difference in the new packaging versus the old packaging and I don’t think it’s packaging trickery either. I truly think that they reformulated with the new packaging because my hair was thriving and then I ordered more and it was old packaging my hair has never been more dry and crunchy and unmanageable can’t wait to get the new packaging with the new formulation back.
Not me watching this like 3 tiiiimes!! Will honey you know you be having me weeeeak. All my gworls who automatically grab the life alert button when they see that notification stand up!! Every time you use the slip edit i end up on the floor right with ol' girl 🤣😂🤣😂😂🤣
I regularly used Cantu back when I had relaxed hair. I kept using it when I was transitioning, but I found products I liked more as I started experimenting with other products and I just never went back lol. But I was curious if there was a new line or just the old products in new packaging.
Old products in new packaging, at least from what I saw at the store because some of the old packaging was there so I compared the product names and they were the same names
I use the mousse and custard when I go on vacation/camping 🤷🏾♀️ gets the job done. I don’t do long term protective styles. I do wash my scalp. I don’t like chlorine or salt water sitting in my hair.
This was too funny!!! Crazy thing is my hair responds to Cantù. I did try the custard but I couldn’t get rid of the crunch. I would rewet my hair and it would curl back up and be crunchy all over again. The curl activator with the leave-in gives my curls the right amount of hold. Great review!! I love all of your vids ❤️❤️❤️
I use Cantu on my hair. I only use the daily oil moisturizer as my leave in and then I blow dry and straighten. My hair LOVESSSSSSS IS. LOVE IT. I use it on my channel and people think I'm crazy. Now the shampoo and conditioner ain't all that. They just okay. They don't wow me. Like the formula just missing something something. But if the change things I'm, I'm willing to give the other products a try.
I love Cantu have been using it for years however it is not the go-to conditioner during the summer time. Cantu literally will sit on your hair and the moment you get hot you will start sweating like Rick James 😂 mind you a little bit goes a very long way, but yes the curl bounce it gives is 😆EVERYTHIIING!!!😆

@@DeLaTr0ll Yep. I tried Lusters again recently and it wasn't so bad! I have 6 heads to do in my household. I don't have much time for trial and error. LOL! Usually, it's water, a leave in, and grease. It all works. Our hair is down our backs. A lil mineral oil never hurt anybody. Ha!

I use their Shea Butter moisturizing shampoo and conditioner, and she does what she needs to do!!!
Can’t lie, Cantù comeback spray held me DOWN in college! They’re products so reasonably priced.
I just bought the shampoo and conditioner and paid full price in Canada. I like it😅
Dang now I wanna try it. I got the avocado leave in to try out.
@@TheLightShinesI've bought that one and the conditioner one as well. What have your results been?
"Trust, you will be dealt with- Period!" took me OUT!!!
I love a good squeak on my hair when I’m done shampooing too, for me if it ain’t squeaky it ain’t clean!
I liked the deep conditioning masque in the packet honey because I wasn’t going to try just to waste. The other product was the whipped buttercream. I most likely used too much product. The masque works well. The buttercream had my hair desert dry by day three.
Cantu makes my hair feel like butter and the Coconut Curling Cream + Curling Custard combo is so defining and hydrating
True
I’ve always loved Cantù.The natural community raved about Shea Moisture but my hair hated it. I use what works for me
When I came back to natural a decade ago, I tried various products. Cantu driiiiiiiied TF outta my hair. Your hair came out absolutely GORGEOUS though! Almost makes me wanna give Cantu another shot. But my hair is scared and traumatized, lol.
Their detangling spray (though the spray bottle could be better) and curl revitalizer are a godsend for me.
Baebeeeee I think Cantù was a right of passage for all naturals who were starting their natural hair journey 🤣🤣🤣 Funds were LOW, we had no idea what we were doing and where to start!! Cantù was like the Auntie welcoming us with open arms like come in in here baby I got you 😂😂😂😂
this comment old but this is the best way ive heard this described
As a person who has purchased too many products that rarely work on my thick head of hair, I might give this a go. Gotta see how the bank account feels first though 😥
Great review!
I be so scared with custards just because they flake on my hair without gel but your results were impressive and bouncy! I love the new packaging but imma go with No on Cantu😂 This is definitely a “Imma let my content creators use it and enjoy their experience”moment🤣
Your skin is beautiful
Yassss! I've been using Cantu for years! ❤️ love it... dunno why people don't like it lol just because it's on the cheaper side lol 😆 I'll save my coins and use Cantu.
i guess some don't luje it cuz it doesn't work on them
cause it made my hair fall out
I just saw your video. I am new to the natural hair journey due to breast cancer- chemo took out my hair and all of this is new to me.
Shea moisture got bought too by Europeans ain’t been the same since 2010-13
just did my hair with the deep treatment masque in that line
edit: i got it bc the bottle was pretty lol
How was it? I love their protein mask. I get so much slip and moisture with it.
The bottles are def cute!
@@Palehotdog it was tew gud... lets get the bill , purrr
but in all honesty its really thicc .. you don't need a lot to lather the section and lowkey made me curls pop was lowkey thinking about using it as a leave in in conjuction with a regular conditioner
Pretty and or fun bottles is what sucks me in to buy drugstore haircare sometimes too. Lol
No bc I started SCREAMING when I seen that MOVEMENT AND THAT DEFINITION!!!! 😍😍🥰👏🏽 PERIODDDDD
I tried Cantu a while ago and didn't care for it. I do appreciate Will for turning me onto Maui Moisture though. Everyone needs a cheap go to brand that somehow just works for their hair and can be found in CVS.
it's been years, and i don't know why that "slip" video always be SENDING MEEEE
I love the creamy conditioner of Cantu, i had a lot of tangles before but it made my hair so soft and silky and easier to comb and dry. I use it together with OGX biotin Shampoo and Together with Perfectil Hair skin and Nails
Getting the shampoo for sure. Looks like it cleansed & moisturized your hair to the Gods. Love the results.
I feel like it’s so underrated and no one ever talks about it.
i'm being Silly Rabbit Captain Obvious, but I wish we could just acknowledge that different hair is gonna favor different products. i look like a poster child for the natural hair community™, but I never liked the 0-100 tendency to be like "this stuff is NOT for us" to "this is IT, everyone should use it" lol
idk my hair's always reacted well to certain Cantu products, but ofc other people aren't suddenly lying if they had a bad experience. likewise, that time i tried a line everybody was hyping up and i was flake city, never again 💀💀 but it worked for somebody!
Cantu worked for me✋
I thought you did a video before that stated that Cantu left white residue on your hair. This is an improvement for them for you. A win!
The flaking made me flee for my life but looks like they fixed it. Thank you for experimenting.
This is what I meant when I asked you to do more natural hair review videos , I love them lol
I never stopped using the leave in and curling cream because they WORK, but my nieces dragged me for filth for wanting to use the shampoo 😭 I’m gonna try it now ain’t scared of them
(Y’all bet not tell them tho 😡)
They definitely got better after the new look in my opinion can be a little heavy when using to much but I like it more now. Hair looks great 👍🏽
I was just thinking I need to get a gel or something to do a wash n go. Now I’m thinking I need that custard. The no crunch, no flaking, and bouncy hair sold me!!!
I looooveee the flaxseed & olive oil gel! I couldn’t wash my hair for a little over a week (🌚) and it never flaked on me 🥹
I've tried several different shampoos/conditioners, leave-ins, oils and grease.
*Camille Rose oil work Camille Rose Honey Hydrate; roots and ends, then comb through. No real tightness to the curls, at all. I could come my hair a couple of times, and it would just stay pretty much straight. Hair is super soft and volume is on 8.5. It's like a big old fluffy cloud.
White girl here.. just bought Cantù products, you sold it… totally enjoyed !! And honestly you can’t beat the price. Thanks for the smile 💕
I know I be on the internet too much based on how many memes I recognize from Will's videos
The slip clip gets me every time! It never fails 😂
I LOVE Cantu products and have been using them since 2010. It DOES matter what sequence of the products you put in for the right outcome. Love this video!❤❤
That custard worked really well for your hair to not have been soaking wet! Also 12:42 has me CACKLING! Boo really looked for the flakes 😂😂
i was lookin hard for them flakes
@@WillOnAWhim and not a single one to be found 💅🏿
Some things work for some people. Cantu has always been trash for me so I stayed away from them. Product's are very hit or miss for me. Like I use the JBCO Shea Moisture shampoo but I have to use a different SM conditioner. Lol it's a process.
a whole process...literally a second job lmao
I shampoo and condition with Cantù and leave in and gel with Miss Jessie I have super curly hair that was all dead and had no life from straightening since I was 14 I’m 30 now
One year into loving my hair and caring for it using these two brands my hair looks fantastic and is really curly my hair looks so good and so do both my daughters we always get so many compliments.
I think you guys should try things for yourself and be your own judge. Stay blessed everyone.
Will your skin looks amazing!!! Are you still using Curology?
yup!
Nah, I won't ever in my life use Cantu again. But I'm glad some people like it.
I’m interested in trying parts of that line. That shampoo looks promising
Your hair came out beautiful Will! Honestly it looked very moisturized and maybe your best wash and style? 👀😍 😁
That first shampoo you picked up in target i still use for my cleansing shampoo 😬 i really like it bc it gets my hair so clean. I still use conditioner before and after use tho
I also used their custard cream jell for years!
It's protein free and has honey in it!😉
I have always used cantu especially the leave in conditioner. It works well on my hair, I never understood the hate 🤷🏾♀️
Yes it's because of the hair type and porosity
They need to pay you!! "Show You The Money!! cause you definitely make me want to run out and grab some!
OH I'm early 🤣 Luv u Will 💕
Luv ya back!
“Walk butt naked through this Airbnb” took me out 😂🤣😩 I hollered
I tried it recently, I loved my results despite having flaking but the wash and go was bomb!
You listening to church girl but having girl on fire being sung is sending me 😂😂😂
Cantu dried my cousins hair out and she has looser curls 2C, 3A. I only tried it a few times while transitioning it smelt nice but thats it
I use Cantu on my hair. But if the change things I'm, I'm willing to give the other products a try.
this is the sign I been looking for. I’ve been needing a new shampoo and ngl, I kinda wanted to go back to this product anyway lmao
THE HONEY ANTI- SHEDDING GEL IS BOMB. I THINK IM GOING TRY TRY AGAIN FOR OTHER PRODUCTS IT JUST SMELLS REALLY STRONG (OTHER PRODUCTS)
I tried Cantu about 2 years ago. Did not like it. It left my hair feeling dry. But I guess different products work for dif hair💫😊
Back in 2010 all I knew was Cantu, such a step up from ORS Olive Oil hair lotion. However, I’m enjoying TGIN and my OG Knot today. Cantu is what I buy when I’m broke broke.
Same here! Broke broke LOL! But I would sooner go back to Luster pink lotion than try Cantu again. Very bad experiences with it in these latter years.
Knot Today is the GOAT!!!
@@EpicRealistTV not Lusters lol Cantu must’ve done you really bad.
Ha!
@@EpicRealistTV 😂 my ends loved some pink lotion. I tried one product but there’s too many different hair textures for one product in my house. Like you said water and a leave is key to long & healthy hair.
Before I loc'd my hair I love Cantu but hated the consequences of the white demonic flakes... Not to mention they changed their leave in forumla up and had me confused. But I'm glad they updated their products I use for my daughter and no complaints yet.
Your memes in your videos are TOP NOTCH 😭
I use the conditioner for my braids..Less breakage and I love the smell..Worth it.
Hey Will! I enjoyed your video.!! The Curl Activator Cream combined with the Curl Whip gives me great results. I diffuse it instead of air drying.
I'm back... it's been a while since I watched you channel. I think it was during covid when you were moving to you new home... I work from home now so I have plenty of time to catch up and enjoy your content😊😊. Always a pleasure to watch you ☺️
Will, did you put the custard on over the curl activator or did you rinse the activator out off-camera? Thank you so much for your videos! I Love the Cantu whip and after watching this video I’m going to expand the rest of the product line.
