    Thanks so much for making this video. I was going to order a few kits, but was apprehensive before watching this video! Thanks for this and your awesome speakers.

    I would sincerely hope that speaker which replaces the weight is at least close to the original weight or you just gimped a bit of pulling power, of course most people don't run realistic train lengths so probably not an issue here. Great walk through.

    No resistors in the light wiring?

    • @Musepro7
      @Musepro7  2 года назад

      The LokSound Direct has LED resistors built-in.

      @@Musepro7 Thanks. I didn't hear that if you mentioned that point.

    What type of camera holder are you using to film? I think I need to make a video or two like this.

      I use one of my heavy-duty microphone boom stands from the recording studio, fitted with a camera-shoe mount adapter. This lets me boom the camera over the workbench without getting in my way. The camera is a Canon SL3.

    So if you were to light up the pilots (courtesy lights) and running lights , which LEDs would you use?

    • @Musepro7

      I use 0402 LEDs or Nix Trainz Loco Lights for those.

    JT, I am going to install a soundtraxx eco onto my Athearn RTR GP40X shortly. Your video is very helpful save for a little confusion on my part. I took the hood off and found but one track pickup front and rear. Am I correct? Also is the positive motor wire attached to the clip on top of the motor? Thanks.

      On these RTRs, the trucks each have one wire; this is your right rail pickup on both. The left rail pickup goes through the frame to a single wire on top; this is your left rail pickup for both trucks. I do no recall which motor clip is positive - you'll need to test for your self. If it moves in the wrong direction, simply swap the two wires on the decoder contacts. You can test the motor by using a 9V battery - touch the two motor wires to the battery contacts and when the loco moves forward on your workbench, the Wie touching the positive battery contact is your positive wire.
