Thank you for such a sweet comment!! Although some might argue with me, I do know that it often takes students multiple attempts to pass the TEAS --- because it is so darn tricky!!! The most important things for you to remember for the Reading portion: 1. Read the question first!! That way, you will know what you are looking for in the passage. 2. Manage your time! If after a minute you aren't sure of the answer, then guess - do not leave it blank. This is to ensure you do not run out of time. 3. NEVER choose "Descriptive" or "To Describe." If you think a passage is descriptive, it will be EXPOSITORY - "to inform." You CAN do this! I wish you all the best!!!!

Thanks for the video! Unfortunately the actual TEAS does not ask specific topic questions on what the logical conclusion is , its more like you read an essay and then asks whats the logical conclusion/inference would be on the WHOLE paragraph(which is harder). if you can re-make one like that we would be grateful!
We've never met in person, but we do kinda know each other. When I worked as a TEAS Coordinator, I would refer my students to his videos, as they were the most helpful. Thank you! The logical conclusion can be tricky. I recommend checking the title of the passage (if there is one) because that can often give you a hint. Don't spend too much time on the logical conclusion questions because you do not want to run out of time! Good luck!

Read the questions first! So many students read the passages first, and then they have to reread it after they've read the question. It is not always necessary to read complete passages.Sometimes the answer could be in the title - or in a specific paragraph. Rewatch my Reading videos - and take notes. Also, you only have approximately 1 minute per question, so be sure to manage your time! Good luck to you!

Because I am teaching you "strategies" to pass the Reading portion of the TEAS. "both" is NEVER the correct answer. Easy-peazy - do not over analyze. :)

I haven't recorded any videos yet on the various type of sentences, but I can give you a brief explanation here: A simple sentence has only one subject and one verb (but it can have objects and modifiers). EX: She opened her book. ("She" is the subject, "opened" is the verb, and "her book" is the object.) A compound sentence contains at least two independent clauses. EX: The baby fox heard a noise, and she ran away. (Each independent clause has a subject and a verb, and each independent clause could stand alone as a complete sentence.) Lastly, a complex sentence will have at least one independent clause and at least one dependent clause. EX: Although it was snowing, the children played outside for hours. Hello Ms. McAllister, I am preparing TEAS exam and I did not grow up in the U.S. Therefore, , I do not know Graham Crackers are still popular. From the passage, it said "Dr. Graham claimed that his crackers made girls less interested in sex." Therefore, I chose C: are not popular. Why would C are not the answer? Since his cracker made girls less interested in sex. Thank you:)
I am unfamiliar with this type of question. What was the actual question? If the graham crackers made girls less interested in sex (really...what a stupid dr!), then I my mind they would be popular if they made girls less-likely to engage in sexual activity.
I am not familiar with the TABE test. The grammar portion works for any type of grammar question, but I the Reading strategies were designed specifically for the TEAS. Good luck!
I wouldn't worry too much about one type of question, and you certainly don't want to spend too much time on one question. However, let me try to explain the difference between inference and conclusions: inferencing is "reading between the lines." You reach an understanding based on information that is NOT included in the passage. Concluding is when you consider all the information presented to reach an understanding. professor, the last question number 8 is hard to understand. because i thought "Never" is an extreme word and we should eliminate it from answer choice.
You're right about "never" when choosing the correct answer for most tests. However, in this case, it is the right answer (sorry, I know...the TEAS is very confusing!) Thank you for watching!

Absolutely! And look for key words that appear both in the question and in the answer.

These are easy paragraphs but the actual teas test is different they have 3-4 paragraphs! I’m just like omg really?? 😢😢😢😩
That is why I recommend that students always read the question first; it makes it easier/faster to find the correct answer. Good luck to you!
