Oh wow, my gosh this is absolutely incredible to watch. Its so sad to imagine those soldiers laying in their bunks waiting for the hell to reign, i love how you've taken us around everywhere and in every part. Such an important and fascinating story and it's amazing to see the reconstructed trench's. Thank you for sharing this, honestly it's my favourite video of yours so far ( i really enjoy all of them btw, but this one is just so inspiring, so thank you ) Seeing the overview of the site is wow...Thanks for showing us the history! 💚💗👌
Magnificent tour! I am 54 and 75% French. WW1 is my basis of studies to the point I have my college degree in that period. I have watched great vids of this area before but yours is by far the best! I wanted to go there watching those, I need to go there now. I could and hopefully will with the right guide spend an entire day there in 2024. You have inspired me - thank you.
Absolutely fascinating to see, thank you for sharing this incredibly sad part of history, it must have been quite a humbling experience to visit. A warm hello from fellow hikers and outdoor adventurers in Washington State USA, we look to more of your adventures. # 90 😊
Hello there. I'm glad to bump into your channel. I love this historical hike! Walking along these War trenches made me wonder how it would have been like for the soldiers fighting for our liberty during the war. Interesting to see those place where remains of soldiers were found. You have narrated the historical facts of this place so well. New sub from a fellow hiker. Hope to share this interest through our videos.
Hello, fellow hiker! Visiting these trenches was really insightful for us as well. Made us reflect the past and hope for a better future, though it seems mankind still has a lot to learn 😐. Thanks for the sub and comment and we hope you enjoy your stay 🙌. Greets, The History Hikers
This looks a fascinating place to visit. Although a fantastic reconstruction I am sure the reality that the soldiers faced would have been so much worse than the representation here can convey. So many did not come back and millions that did were so damaged physically and mentally. I am old enough to remember some of those damaged souls but was too young to realise what had happened to them at the time. Hopefully those errors are not about to be repeated.
Amazing watch, been binge watching your vids this weekend as a huge castle and history lover. This was a very touching video. Im an English person in 3/4 ths but my Grandmother was German from Hamburg so anything touching on the wars is really important to me. Brilliant videos and peace and love to you x
Awesome to hear someone besides ourselves binge watching our videos. 😀 We were very moved by this one ourselves (and Vieux Craonne). Thank you for watching and commenting 😊
Hey Watto, thanks for your comment. It was a humbling experience to visit these trenches. We'd want to hope humanity has learned, but it seems some people can't be taught 🙂
Wow. I am so glad to bump into your channel. if I have learned anything in this life of mine; in love we find out who we want to be; in war we find out who we are. Thank you for sharing this amazing video. Greetings from Canada and a new fan.
Hello new fan, welcome to the History Hikers party 😀. Thanks for your kind comment! These trenches were really impressive to us as well, very inspiring. Stay safe (and warm in -40° C 🥶)!
Hey, sorry for our late reply! Thank you for your comment. Visiting these trenches were a real eye opener for us and we were really impressed. Greetings from Belgium!
Thanks for your comment! It's more of a restoration than it actually being preserved. From 2009 onwards a group of volunteers have been digging and rebuilding the trenches to be as close to original as possible 😊

Nice video 👍. Thanks for your sharing 🙏
It's our pleasure! Thank you for commenting! 👌
How old are those sandbags? Were they put in during 2000 era reconstruction? Heartless cruelty visited upon the troops!
These sandbags were put in during the reconstruction yes, after the war the land was used as farmland, so there weren't a lot of sandbags left 😊
Amazing to see, so sad at the same time. Awesome footage though guys 🤍

3:08 im sorry either that was thunder or an EVP of residual haunting. Straight up chilling either way.
That's how we felt yes!
The area is do well preserved. Incredible indeed.
