Hey girl, so creating a slip layer on the nail before you do your normal bead will help. The slip layer you don’t cure before applying the big bead. It helps so the big bead you applies self levels easier.
I used the exact products in the video and followed along and I have ~never~ loved my nails so much. I’ve had dip, acrylic, hard gel and normal gel nails and the hard gel was always my favorite but not a lot of salons offer it here. For just under $200 I got everything and it took me a little under 3 hours to do everything from applying tips, filing, shaping, applying the product, etc. I LOVE IT. Now I just don’t know how to fill it 😅😅 a video on filling hard gel would be awesome!

Edit: Also TGB used to sell to the public world wide but last year they switched to licensed techs only. I'm in the states and I used to buy their products before they made this announcement but I never had to show proof with my account or a new one after. A really great 'builder in a bottle' brand is Luminary, you can use them just as gel polishes or build them up like you would with a builder gel. So far, I've had no issues purchasing anything (and I'm definitely no professional). I'm not sure if they ship to Canada/internationally but The Nail Throne stocks Luminary's products and ships to Canada! You should definitely try them out! I've fallen in love with them and it makes my nails so much stronger.
You can also buy from naio nails, also based in the uk, and the builder in a bottle and there nail polishes are amazing. They sell to the general pupblic
I love my gel nails. I just use the IBD gel with a brush and it takes me no time. There is def a learning curve, but they always look amazing! I may try the Gel Bottle, but I do have some amazing builder gels in a bottle from Amazon.
I just found your channel while scrolling through RUclips. It was really informative. I just started using poly gel and it gets a little clumpy but the build a gel looks so much easier and manageable.
Same, I'm trying to use polygel and it's sticking to everything & the dust when I file, oh mah gah, and I just feel like it doesn't create those same beautiful, straight edges she did with the builder gel! 😭 This is way harder than I thought lol

I think I need to try this , I tried nail tips with polygel and my nails look like hooves . I was going to get acrylic powder but since that dries super quick and I’m a newbie this builds gel looks awesome especially since it self levels . My main issue with polygel and too much slip . Shout out to the ladies who will never go back to the nail shop since quarantine 💅🏾
This is the ONLY enhancement that stays in my nails. Everything else lifts within two days but THIS is literally my holy grail and lasts as long as I want it to. I do my nails every 7-10 days cuz I hate when they grow out but this stuff is AMAZEBALLS
Carly Brooks nail tech here , TheBriCollection is my salon . Your having lifting due to preping , the way or what your doing isn’t effecting you’re lifting . Lifting straight come from prep, Always do you Dehydrate your nail and use primer , buff the nail first . Then clean and remove all dead skin from the nail around the cuticle is a must that is what causes a lifting .

I have builder gel from madam glam that I sometimes use as an overlay to my natural nails and it applies about the same from what I can tell, although more translucent. I have that SunUV lamp and I have never had a problem curing any type of gel polish with it. Your finished manicure is gorgeous! I love cool-toned pinks.

And it's funny that you mentioned having an allergic reaction to dipping powder because that is what I started with as a DIY but I was having a horrible respiratory reaction to it every time. Now that I've switched to hard gel no problems. By the way, just a picky little thing, you called your first thin layer a slip layer but a slip layer is actually thin but left uncured before putting on the next bigger amount of product.

Nail tech here , you did pretty good . Only thing you may need to do prep , prep is soooo important when using that product . Bc when you’re nail grows and grows over the gel it will be a pain to remove but also cause lifting . If you want to know preping I use with this product on client I’ll share , but good thing about this product is you don’t have to use a base or primer bc it’s all in one . You can just buff the nail and go straight into building the nail . Also use the drill to flush out the cuticle area as well so it’ll look more flush it look like it’s coming out of your nails instead of it kind of looking like a press on at the cuticle area

Welcome back. Happy New Year! Your nails turned out great! I haven’t tried this brand yet BUT bought several of Luminary during Black Friday insanity lol (Similar to the product you are using here) LOVE it! I’ve done dip powder, polygel... and LOVE builder gel the best.
One more thing! You're supposed to "scrub" the base coat on the nail so that it fills in all of the little ridges, nooks and crannies etc that you got from filing the nails in the prep step 😊 I highly recommend you to watch Liz from the Nail hub on RUclips, she has a playlist called "nail fundamentals", she practically teaches about EVERYTHING that has anything to do with nails and nail extenstions, for free! She's THE best teacher and explains everything soo good so that anyone can understand, she shows what's right and what's wrong, troubleshooting etc etc. You'll know what I mean once you see the videos 😃🥰

Since my tech cant work for a few months, im soaking in all that RUclips gel wisdom to do my nails myself (i cant fit in other techs timetables). 😂 That SunUV brand lamp you showed was like the first thing i ordered (just different model), so far it has worked really nice and it was affordable, the 30 second option can do a heatspike, but the 90 second gradual option is really nice on it. 👍

Thanks for video, i'll sure save this for later time! Since my tech cant work for a few months, im soaking in all that RUclips gel wisdom to do my nails myself (i cant fit in other techs timetables). 😂 That SunUV brand lamp you showed was like the first thing i ordered (just different model), so far it has worked really nice and it was affordable, the 30 second option can do a heatspike, but the 90 second gradual option is really nice on it. 👍
Was this set as hard to remove as the poly gel?
Nooo, so much easier to remove, thank God. I believe it's a soak off system. File off the top and soak the rest.
