Thank you for your story. As a child, I saw my mother being verbally and physically abused by my father but she didn’t have the strength to divorce him. This was in the 70’s and she didn’t know what to do and she couldn’t speak to any of her friends about it because they wouldn’t believe her because he was so charming and charismatic around people. I was 10 years old at the time and we lived on the 1st floor in SoutH Shore. And the sad part is that our neighbor on the 3rd floor was also being abused by her husband.
I felt horror as I listened to her narrative. I felt anger as she described her interaction with CPD on the scene of the attack. I felt disgusted with CPD's attitude that she was wasting their time because she didn't have a piece of paper. I wish I could say I was surprised when CPD acted like they did her a favor when they finally caught him. She is right about how system is more concerned about the subject's rights than the victim's rights. Thank goodness for victim advocates and thank goodness she found her strength.
Thank you for your transparency.
Thank you for bravery to speak truth to power. Thank you sharing. May it heal others and help others. Praying your continued strength

Sorry about the police response. Many of them devalue women and are abusers as well.
