This fellow makes the most sense of any pastor I have heard. He talks straight from the Bible, telling us what Christ told us, in clear terms. Don't be confused - though these things may seem far off - we are all one heartbeat away from facing our own end. Regardless of when the Temple is built - be ready as if the Temple of your heart has been calling you all your life. I do long for Paradise and the Love that Christ holds dear to us all.

We could go over all sorts of texts in a scholarly manner and come to all sorts of conclusions based on our understanding but the core of Jesus's message was simple. Love God. Love everyone. Have faith. Blessed is the Lord our God is the beginning of most Jewish prayers. I wasn't trying to imply anything about a human king. The following is an excerpt from wikipedia that might shed some light on it: Most blessings begins with the words Barukh Attah Adonai ("Blessed are You, Lord"). When the blessing occurs at the beginning of a prayer, the words Eloheinu Melekh ha-Olam ("our God, King of the Universe") are added. Anyways, blessings and peace to you. Also I would caution against getting so caught up in interpretations and texts to the point where doctrines and beliefs divide and do not further love.
@in777sight also just for the sake of clarity you are right. There are more than 10 commandments in the old testament. There are in fact 613 mitzvot (commandments) in the Torah. A good portion of them deal with how to treat the poor and needy. Things such as, "when you harvest your fields do not harvest the edges of your field but leave it for the poor" and every 50 years is a year of jubilee where ALL debts are forgiven and the land is given rest. Can you imagine how much it would change our current system if we followed that today? There would be no poor.

In any case i do not see what that has to do with living the living God or loving others. I care very little about the teachings of men. I just walk the path that has been set before me and try to be understanding and compassionate. I have no need or desire to argue with anyone over doctrine. Perhaps your perceptions will change over time. Mine certainly have. I hold none of my own beliefs to be true. As I said I just try to walk the path before me in wisdom, peace, and love. I have no desire to continue this conversation unless it leads to practical ways to live in peace and love. I miss churches that teach like this. I mean, you didn't mention your kids, your wife, the drive to the grocery store, your clothing, your "chaos" in your home, none of it. Absolutely refreshing. It's as if I've gone back in time. Great teachings! I've been following for months and felt the need to say something on this Sunday morning, not wanting to go to the latest "happy, I,Me,My" church. Leon, Jesus has not taken His Spirit from believers in Jesus. We need to be born again, and when we are, the Holy Spirit gives us a new nature, "born of God", and He comes to live within us, indwelling us. Jesus said that the disciples knew Him because He was _with_ them, but would be _in_ them, and this began on Pentecost. Jesus called the Holy Spirit the "Comforter", which is definitely what we need, isnt it? Look at the Bible verses where God draws near to us, offering us His comfort and His salvation. Ever since I first heard of the Rapture, first thing I did was search the word to see if it was true, and once I prayed and found out it was true, I've prayed everyday I would be worth. I'm a failure at everything, but I'm blessed to be born at this time in history to see his return. And now it's only days away. Everyone expected him in 2012, just as the scriptures said. But the wise would know. Wow how blessed am I to be called wise by God himself.

@in777sight no need to over complicate things. We could go over all sorts of texts in a scholarly manner and come to all sorts of conclusions based on our understanding but the core of Jesus's message was simple. Love God. Love everyone. Have faith.

@in777sight also just for the sake of clarity you are right. There are more than 10 commandments in the old testament. There are in fact 613 mitzvot (commandments) in the Torah. A good portion of them deal with how to treat the poor and needy. Things such as, "when you harvest your fields do not harvest the edges of your field but leave it for the poor" and every 50 years is a year of jubilee where ALL debts are forgiven and the land is given rest. Can you imagine how much it would change our current system if we followed that today? There would be no poor.
@in777sight I can see you have your mind made up. I have to admit i am not 100% clear what your main point is. It seems to be that abraham or Paul is not correct. In any case i do not see what that has to do with living the living God or loving others. I care very little about the teachings of men. I just walk the path that has been set before me and try to be understanding and compassionate. I have no need or desire to argue with anyone over doctrine. Perhaps your perceptions will change over time. Mine certainly have. I hold none of my own beliefs to be true. As I said I just try to walk the path before me in wisdom, peace, and love.

Leon, Jesus has not taken His Spirit from believers in Jesus. We need to be born again, and when we are, the Holy Spirit gives us a new nature, "born of God", and He comes to live within us, indwelling us. Jesus said that the disciples knew Him because He was _with_ them, but would be _in_ them, and this began on Pentecost. Jesus called the Holy Spirit the "Comforter", which is definitely what we need, isnt it?
