Thank you for this video. I am in university studying cinema and photography, and it has been really hard for me to remind myself that my art is not supposed to be made to be necessarily enjoyed by the masses, but for me to express myself. The problem when you're in this kind of studies is that you are taught that the greatest artists who started movements and rethought art throughout the centuries are the ones who digress from the classical codes and the expectations of the public, and at the same time my art is being judged according to these classical codes. One of my photographies got absolutely lynched by my photography teacher one day because I had decided to play with perspective (I don't really know how to explain with the right words in English, but instead of taking a picture straight forward I tipped my camera a little bit to the side to take the shot). I had been inspired by the work of Germaine Krull and the New Vision, explained the reasoning behind my choice, but still the teacher told me and the class that it was not modern enough and that nobody should take pictures like that. I realize that lately I've been doing what I'm told to do without questioning it, and yeah my grades aren't that bad, but I'm not having fun. That's over, I'm tired of this. I'm going to try not to restrain myself from now on, I know what I love to do.

I think more photographers everyday are very influenced by the instagram photography pehmonon and there are man creatives out there but I think it's also hard differentiating your work from all the others once you've gone in that rabbit hole. experienced this myself. love your videos ❤

Tyler, I've been on the fence about you for years, but your comment "my honest response would have been, who's Richard Avedon, made me laugh at loud. Love you humility and honesty. So much pretentiousness in this industry, your truth is refreshing. Great work.

That is the reason why, likes doesn't mean anything to me anymore, I just photograph and pick some of them which is the best one for me, and then just post them. They like it or not, I don't care, I just do and post what I do with my styles and knowledge that I have. I also believe that our photos are the reflections of ourselves.

You inspire me! I feel like I comment this in every single one of your videos but it’s the truth. You push me to think about my future and want to achieve my dreams even tho I don’t have too much clarity about what those are (if that makes any sense at all)
