THANK YOU so much, my daughters wedding is in a few months and i have been ordering silk flowers online and they are so packaged up !! i didnt know if i could fix them or not, so thank you thank you thank you !!
Happy to help! We love working with silk flowers and it's amazing that just by steaming that they come to look so natural and beautiful! 💐

You're so welcome Steph! Thank you for joining in on the creative fun! 💕💐
Will try on a squashed roses wreath, thanks !
Sounds great! How did it turn out?
@@BalsaCircle Perfectly !! 🥰 Thanks !!
Thank you! Excellent video, the hair dryer was awkward for straightening my leaves and flowers, this was a breeze!
It definitely takes longer with the hair dryer, but in a pinch it'll do! Steamer is a lot faster for sure. Glad your found it helpful!
I have some flocked lambs ear foliage, I'm concerned that the steam would effect the flocking and or the adhesive that was used to add the flocking. Any suggestions?
Hmm, is the flocking on both sides of the leaves? You can try to steam the side that the flocking is not on. You can also try a more gentle method like just putting the arrangement near the shower with hot water on, so the steam is in the room but not directly on the leaves. You can also move the leaves further away from the steam if using a conventional fabric steamer. Hope this helps!
@@BalsaCircle The flocking is on both sides. Thanks for the suggestions, I'll try the shower trick.
My only concern with steaming is some of the petals in my bouquet have ridges and vein like wrinkles to make them appear more real. Which they do. But if I steam them, will that also come out? I went with silk flowers because we're eloping and I have to take it on a plane. It will be crammed in my bag. Would bubble wrap help at all or just use more space? I'm trying to get away with just a carry on 😂
We would just recommend trying a lower steam setting or holding the flowers slightly further away. The wrinkles are likely set with glue towards the base so keep steam away from that area. As with more delicate artificial blooms, it's best to try one section of the bouquet first to see how the flowers will react, and definitely try holding them further from the steamer. Hope this helps and congratulations! No doubt the flowers will look beautiful!
Will this bring the color vibrancy back too? I have silk tulips in my bathroom. No natural sunlight. They seem less vibrant. Thanks.
Thank you for your question! Steaming will not bring back color vibrancy unfortunately, it just helps to open up artificial flowers so they look more natural. However, there are silk flower cleaner sprays that remove dust and that might help bring vibrancy back. You can find spray cleaners for silk flowers on Amazon or your local craft stores may have it also. Hope this helps!
fantastic! thanks!
You're welcome!
Awesome idea! I never knew! But where do you get that steamer?
We got it from Amazon but most stores like Target and WalMart carry them too! Search for 'mini fabric steamer' if you want the one we used in video, there are lots of options!
Does this work on anny artificial flowers like orchids
It will as long as it's either foam or fabric based, most silk flowers are but make sure to double check! If it's made of vinyl or paper then it won't work. Hope this helps!
Can I use a regular clothes iron for steaming my silk gladiolus?
Hm, you may be able to! Just be sure to be careful as steam is extremely hot. You can try testing it on one of the flowers to see if it works. If it's too hot, simply create a steam room in your bathroom by running hot water and placing the flowers in the room (not under the water but close enough to the steam) The moisture should help open up the flowers. Hope this helps!
How about flatten poinsettias after it was stored to look nice again.
Great idea! We'll do some research and make a video about how to best store silk flowers. The main thing is to store theme away from sunlight as the colors can fade over time.

What about foam flowers
Hi! If you skip to 1:04 (ruclips.net/video/CV_Wc4p8qx4/видео.html) that's where we're showing how foam flowers look using the steam method. Hope this helps!
Fix wrinkled poinsettia silk flowers
Have you tried the steam method? If the leaves are fabric, it should work but test it on one leaf first!
