This workstation was well ahead of it's time especially it's drum sets. Also some of the piano and organ sounds in early 90s Casio keyboards are based on lofi Kurzweil samples which is what brought me here.
Jeff Fatt from The Wiggles used the Kurzweil K2000 VP in Wiggly Party: Live in Concert around December 2001. Jazz Organ (We're Dancing With Wags The Dog and Dance The Ooby-Doo), Marimba (Magic Buttons skit), Acoustic Piano (Five Little Ducks), and Celesta (Silent Night) and I hope I see that full concert with Jeff playing the Kurzweil K2000 VP keyboard during those four songs and one skit after Sir Leslie Longley uploads it.
I can only stand those synth sounds which can sound quite warm without annoying harmonics that most romplers suffers even today from. The rest bread and butter sounds are extremely outdated. Thanks for making the video.
That is a matter of opinion. The k2000 has deep editing ability, and many samples from k2500 are available.. I am amazed at how well the piano sounds are even after 30 years. Very useable keyboard.
@@goddem123 I had replaced os also. k2vx is not a version, but model of synth. My synth is k2000 and it has pram extension with Janis 3.87 OS and its sounds as default 01-199 (there are similar to k2vx sounds i guess). But I have loaded original sounds (from the k2000 previous chip to 800-999 patches). So now it has ROM default sounds 01-199 and RAM original k2000 sounds.
The K2k v.3 with none of the ROM blocks has 200 presets & 200 user locations so it can hold/store up to 400 or so from/on the basic macros autoload setup at power up with ROM blocks, upgrades & other expansions as many as a 1000 thanx folks

I have forgot how good this sounds. Owned a K2000VP, K2500R and K2500, many years ago.
Paradoxically, I find this piano is almost better than the triple-strike piano sound of PC1/2 ecc. series, especially on low-middle register.
Jeff Fatt of The Wiggles used a Kurzweil K2000. Actually, a K2000S. Just around 1996. Acoustic Piano, Honkey Tonk, Marimba/Excited Marimba.

Even in 2024: there´s nothing wrong with that acoustic piano preset in a band context!
The keyboard that some Animusic tracks use, like Pipe Dream

Yeah I’m definitely going to revive my PC88 now. Some very familiar sounds,
Very nice. Could you please tell your master settings (Vel Touch and Press Touch) from beginning of video because it is dimly. Thank you.
