- Before each day of corn chopping the vintage corn chopper needs servicing. Here you will watch the farmer sharpening the blades, greasing all zerks, lubricating the chains and adjusting belts. This daily ritual during harvest takes between 30-45 minutes depending if the chopper was cleaned out the previous afternoon. We also watch a team of horses pull a cart fitted with a 175 hp diesel engine to power the chopper. The horses are actually be held back as their normal walk would be a bit too fast for the chopper to handle.

It was nice to see the horses at lunch time 😁
I love much Amish video work life, so very like me thanks so much. :)
I love these kind of videos.
Thank you very very much for watching and commenting!!
I always enjoy your videos even though the content is not new to me, I am a horse farmer myself and frequently travel to Jamesport, MO, an Amish community where I have friends and business partners.
…and I am so appreciative of your time spent watching them and commenting. Many thanks!
I love working so much.
Put a bang board on your boxes watering to much corn
Seems like wasting a lot silage missing wagon
the engine you use for chopping is an air-cooled Deutz, I had it in my old New Holland Clayson 1540 S 110 hp combine harvester, a beautiful machine with a wonderful engine, it worked for many years, the engine never gave any problems, a fantastic engine.
Old Order?? Tractor on the blower and a skid steer to unload the wagons, I have never seen any Old Order Amish doing this.. Looks like this Farmer is half and half
You’ve never been to the 3 largest Amish communities in the country?
