  • My journey into the world of Porsche has been a long twisty road, but it has led me to wonderful places. Here is a bit about my ownership experience and my thoughts on Porsche as a brand.

I owned several Porsches 986 2.7 (RMS leak), 987 Cayman 3.4S (bore scoring), 997.1 3.8 (bore scoring) and a Cayenne diesel (coolant leak). Back in 2017 bought a California T (3.9) and traded it in last summer for a Portofino. In the Ferrari's I really feel driving something special again. That feeling was a bit lost with the Porsches.

I definitely understand what you mean. I love and respect both brands. Ferrari is undoubtedly more special and offers more of a sense of occasion. I do find that the Porsches I’ve owned offer incredible reliability. Sounds like you’ve had bad luck with yours. Glad the Ferraris are treating you well!
I bought my 987.2 Spyder because they resolved many of the reliability issues for that generation. It also is a relatively rare car and offers a little bit of exotic flare in comparison to a lot of other Porsches.

Porsche owners are people who loves the drive...Dull enough to fit a teacher and also Special enough to fit a Collector.

Honestly, for the last year or two Porsche meatriders make me like the brand less. Yeah, they are making really nice cars, but people should stop idolize them so much. Also Porsche seems greedy with all this infinite limited editions and prices for options

I hear ya. I certainly don’t idolize them or think they are the be-all end-all. They are great though, and thankfully you don’t have to buy a brand new one to get the experience. The market appears to be cooling off for them a bit too.
      Cheers

@@Time-Driven I didn’t mean you in particular, I’m talking about people in general. These TikTok kids are doing to Porsche what that did to Supra and than to LFA.

Lexus and Porsche have been my go to for luxury brands
Lexus with reliability and build quality that's insane for it's price
Porsche for performance, prestige, overall quality which is better than most ppl think for the price aswell.

      no bud, not at all,
I own 2 Porsches, do not care for a ferrari at all not even in the farken slightest.
Every time is see a ferrari or lambo i just think, "what a waste of money, I would have 2 911's."
You are showing your life in-experience to think that any Porsche owner would have a "I am likely to break if you track me ferrari, over a, thrash me everyday Porsche."
When you grow up you may learn that quote about how it's better to remain silent and be thought of as a fool than to comment and prove it.@@budthecyborg4575

Not a fan of Ferrari at all. They’re pretty but they break too much, aren’t durable like a Porsche and they aren’t built as well. When you’re an old car guy like me you appreciate the workmanship and the total package of usability every day with superb performance. Ferraris are toys you show off in if you have a small penis or feel inadequate in general. My Porsche gets driven almost every day and it always puts a smile on my face.
