- EFF leader, Julius Malema is leading the party's commemoration of the Freedom Charter in Kliptown, Soweto. Today marks the 67th anniversary of the adoption of the Freedom Charter. The document was adopted in an open field at the Congress of the People in 1955 and has become a blueprint of the political, economic and social structure that the people of South Africa demanded.

It’s interesting to talk about the freedom charter but do we all recall why the charter became critical and necessary in the first place ? Discrimination is indeed unacceptable but also Imperialism-Capitalism and it’s short, medium and long term consequences. Mr Malema is a true enlightened leader, I don’t know if I should trust this video footage. Forgiveness does not and should not mean denial. Economic freedom should be synonymous of Liberation and so of the end of all sorts of oppression.

The Freedom Charter belongs to the ANC not the EFF or any other party. The second chapter of the Constitution is almost a verbatim of the freedom charter.. The EFF will never be or produce anything substantial.
