Follow Extreme skier Fredrik Ericsson on his journey to Nepal to attempt the first ski descent of the 7th highest mountain in the world, Dhaulagiri (8167m)
Fedrick....You were such a great person. You visited my country and skied down from Dhaulagiri Summit (within 150m)! You have inspired me to explore my country Nepal! Unfortunately, you are not with us, Rest In Peace! Govinda Rana (Nepal) currently in England.
Ericsson lost his climbing partner Michalle Faite (Italy) skiing the slopes of K2 in 2009. Ericsson was lower on the steep slope and had to climb back up to try and recover Michalle, he then dragged his body downhill, an amazing feat of bravery risking his own life to do so. He then returned to climb K2 in 2010 along with Fabrizio Zangrilli (USA) and Gerelande Kaltenbrunner (Austria).... Sadly, he fell carrying skies on his back from a little over 8000 meters all the way down to 7000 meters. K2 is still the toughest and cruelest of mountains. in 2009 & 2010 there were ZERO summit success on K2, and over 840 summit success on Everest. Ericsson was showcased in the movie: K2, Siren of the Himalayas. RIP!
A very unassuming guy. I met him at Italian base camp as he was preparing to walk out and he told us he'd climbed to within 150M to the summit but neglected to mention he'd skied down !
You made it look entirely too easy, but I'm sure it wasn't. What about avalanche danger from all the fresh snow? How many camps total did you use? How long was your expedition?
RIP Fred I don't have to point out the "who" below, but unfortunatly some people apparently are born into the world without that little voice in there head that tells them to not offend others with obvious, controversial statements with the intent to make themselves look good. (It's youtube, so that's not surprising)
@crhood2166 and what about people dying after spending their whole life in their house on their computer? At least he will be remembered in an amazing way. You will probably live your whole uneventful life and then be forgotten.
I ski and board so dont get me wrong and its definitely cool some dude is skiing Dhaligiri. But why does it always come across as just another arrogant euroflash ski hotshot going out and doing the same ol thing? Go get a board.
@Imrankniazi haha epic fail, in sweden...they talked about it on the tv, and on many website's wich got pictures that confimes that he did it, so shut it!
@kryptocake Why would I be angry when a stranger does something stupid and dies from it? Where your argument breaks down is "Dead" does NOT equal "happy"...ever! There are people (including myself) who have great lives and don't have to risk death to achieve happiness. To need to put your life on the line to be happy is just pathetic....

Unreal!
Wonderful beautiful scary shit.
RIP mate.
R.I.P. Fredrik Ericsson, only 35 years old.
K2 kills: 298 people managed to climb it. Over 80 died. It's not worth it.

Poor video editing skills. Lovely mountain and a brave soul.
I only see pixels.

So sad. He died on U2.
Sphere723 Don't let Bono hear you say that. I think it was K2.
dave gantly Same thing.
K2 and U2?
dave gantly Old, white, foreign.
Ah, but I'm Irish, so U2 aren't foreign.
