I'm using Documents for photos since many years, it helps in saving those pics according to their time in Google photos, as now I'm on a rooted device with unlimited Google photos storage, I usually take photos from iPhone n then transfer it to my WhatsApp through document, it automatically saves in my storage without taking any memory
