I can indeed confirm, Malaysia gets a butt ton of rain. In fact, in the Monsoon season, every night, there will be rain and quite likely, thunderstorms. And it goes on until the morning.

I want to explain a bit-- Colombia is the wettest country not only because the entire country is very rainy overall, it also has the chocó which has some of the rainiest places in the world. Contrary to India, Colombia isn't affected by monsoon so it rains constantly year-round and climate is always the same. I'm from Costa Rica, we and Panama are both very close to Colombia in precipitation, close to 3000 mm per year, yeah it starts raining at 11 am and don't stop until night😅.

Downpour isn’t considered rain, we still run/on motorbikes against showers, but when it seems like it destroys houses, we might make some tea and indomie to warm up. 8am is better for drying clothes outside, but take it back inside in the afternoon. Oh yes storms do come sometimes at 3am. Forget about boots, it will filled with water anyway, wear shorts and flip flops, it gets clean and dries faster. The lightning pretty much like Voldemort vs Harry Potter, be careful of debris from houses/trees that got struck by it. Anyway, bring umbrella.
As a Colombian, I can confirm that since I was born until now it has rained almost every day without stopping, although in some cases they were killed by natural disasters and lost homes in some family members. Colombia is the second most biodiverse country in the world and the first rainiest country in the world. (without boasting in any country)
as a geography student who studied climates, it will mostly be countries near the equator and with a tropical equatorial climate so probably in south east asia or countries near the equator. And having the wettest place on earth does not mean having the highest rainfall. there is a chance india might come first but it's quite unlikely

One time I was in Malaysia, Cameron Highlands and thought I’d go for a little walk. There was a little drizzle, what’s the big deal? Suddenly the sky just opened up. It was like standing in a warm shower for half an hour. And just as suddenly it was all over. Happened to me again in Thailand many years later. By then it was just something you had to expect.
A few days ago there's literally a flood in a village AND I WAS THERE IT ALMOST FLOOD MY HOUSE IN THE VILLAGE
