- Hello lovely people! I get the question a lot of why I say “special needs baby” or “baby with special needs” I feel if I use those term which are not negative terms then other people would feel more comfortable in come and asking me more about my baby. I get it! It’s hard to know how to ask questions feeling like you don’t know how to word something! Just know you can word it any way and I won’t be offended! Also happy Sunday! Isn’t it crazy how being a SN mom you go from knowing absolutely nothing of medicine, to basically being your child’s own nurse/doctor!! Bless both of you! Such a beautiful family.
Her little cry is so sweet please don’t feel weird about putting her cries in it’s a natural thing all babies do!!!!!!
I feel the same way, I dont mind hearing the cries( I dont want to hear her cries in the sense I don't like her being in pain or sad) , but I don't feel she needs to censor for us.
The other reason I don't mind hearing the cries is b/c they always get her calmed down and I love getting to see her all comfortable and calmed down after she was crying.so hard, like in this video. They are such great parents & it shows ❤

You're doing so great especially considering how young you are, I think there's a stereotype that young parents are clueless or whatever but some older parents can't even provide the level of care and respect you provide baby Kenndal. I have different disabilities than Kenndal, but as a disabled child to two able-bodied parents who saw them advocate for my medical needs and all that stuff, I just wanted to say you're doing great :)

Kendall is the most precious little girl in the world, is her cry just touches my soul.
Nikki- I was remembering my own son and what I did to calm him down and I remembered I used to rub behind his ears and massage his head. Not with lotion or anything of course. lol The Dr said he probably gets a headache from crying so hard and the massage helps to relieve that pain. Maybe try it, you never know. You're doing an incredible job with her! I wanna kiss her chubby cheeks and run my fingers through her gorgeous curls!

I literally tear up watching your videos girl! You are SO beautiful, inside and out! You have become so knowledgeable and educated on your little ones medical needs and I can tell you are the best advocate for her! To make sure your medical team knows the needs of Kenndal not only medically but just as a baby as well, to be there every step to make sure she is getting everything she needs! It is so hard being a young mom, a first time mom, and a mom in general, the hardest most incredible journey ever and then with Kenndal’s unique needs as well, you just amaze me, with what you do every day for her. Kenndal is such a beautiful and unique baby, not just medically! I can see in her eyes how much she loves you back. She is straight from heaven and I see that Mommy and Daddy were picked by God to be this angels parents for a reason, I can tell it is in Gods purpose for you both to be her mom and a dad. The love in your little family is so beautiful, you guys are amazing people, amazing parents. God bless you guys, thank you for sharing your journey.

I know it’s not easy to be a mom I have two but I’m sure it’s more harder on you when there are days that she just out of it and you have no idea what to do but you do it. I just saw the video and the description. I like what you wrote, I'm 29 and have special needs/disabilities and it happens a lot that people think is bad to tell that words but as much as you're more than a disability you have to put a name. Also I always say if you ask with respect There's nothing wrong about it. I have autism, a brain malformation, hearing impairment. Etc. And when someone look my hearing aids and make faces is not nice but if they ask in good ways is ok to want to know.

Don’t worry about posting her crying, my son always screams like someone murdering him when he’s in his pushchair but I know there’s nothing wrong with him, he’s fed, clean, had a nap etc... because I pick him up and he starts smiling 🙄
I’ve had people telling me what they think is wrong with my son out in public but in reality it’s just normal babies cry!

I had a 'special brother'. He was the most honest and friendliest person on earth. When someone was unkind he said: God does not like that. He was a peace maker. I miss him. I hope all mothers know: special kids can make the world a bit better! Some kids maybe can' t write or count: but you can count on their smiles and you can read love on their faces. (Thats what my mother always said).

God bless you nikole. We were parents of our special needs beautiful daughter Kirsten. We just lost her in February. And miss her dearly. She was twenty seven and the love and center of our life. Seizures every day, gtube, scoliosis surgery, non verbal. And it was an honor to care for her throughout her life. We would give anything to have her back with us. We are still in shock and lost without Kirsten in our life.

Kenndal reminds me so much of Kirsten. Kirsten only got to 42 pounds. She was small her whole life. When we would go to Vegas, security was always quick to tell us to leave. They were amazed to find out that she was an adult. She was a beautiful young woman. You will always be in our prayers Nikole. We went through a lot with Kirsten but wouldn’t trade it for all the gold on earth. Jeanette and I were a team. A Groundhog Day(every day was the same routine)team but a team. Jeanette loved giving Kirsten a bath every day. And her long curly hair was her crown that Jeanette cared for and brushed after every bath.
Kirsten, like Kenndal, was lucky to have such wonderful, loving parents. I am so sorry for your loss.
It’s so cute how much you do!...your a great mom!..I know I’ve commented in the past but my girl is almost 17.all you need to clean her sight is saline...that’s it...you will see...my girl has never had an infection ever...just saline and air!...
