Grinding of teeth is normal at that age so dont worry. I know what its like to not sleep, my youngest stopped breathing as a newborn. He was diagnosed with GERD and had seizure like activity. I had to sleep sitting up with him propped up over my shoulder so he would stay upright, not laying down, not in a sitting position, just upright with no pressure on his tummy. When my anxiety actually allowed me to sleep, I would constantly wake up scared that it would happen again. Until he was 8 months old, I slept like that, sitting up. I was a single mom, who worked full time and also had an elementary aged son. I dont know how I survived but somehow we get through! Mommas are strong!
I have been trying to organize my many thoughts after watching this video into something coherent but I think the best way is just to make a list: 1. Please do not apologize for your appearance. You are beautiful and I LOVE how real your videos are and that you're not wearing 5 pounds of makeup like some other people I can think of do (even when they're pretending to wake-up). 2. Another thing I can tell is real and not fake is the love you and Karlos have for each other. I love the way you two are so thoughtful to each other and support each other. 3. You have the most wonderful positive attitude. I know it can't be easy going through a major home renovation but you're plowing through with a smile on your face and making the necessary adjustments. And finally: 4. I can't adequately put into words just how much of an amazing mom you are to Kenndal. I know how utterly exhausted and maybe even a little frustrated, not with Kenndal but the situation, you must be but the main thing I focus on is how much you love that beautiful baby girl and just want the absolute best for her. I wish there was something I could do for you but just please know your family is in my thoughts and prayers every day. .
I am so glad I found your channel. It came at the right time, I was so close to never using youtube again. It's has become filled with people portraying unrealistic lifestyles and picture perfect families that have no depth. Your channel (and some others I have found recently) have opened my eyes that it is important to give a platform for those who live normal yet rare lives that are easily overlooked because they're not flashy. You're a loving beautiful family with so much joy!!! I hope your platform grows so you can use it to bring better awareness and research to your daughter's condition.
How true is that, it's sad because even these picture perfect families will say you only see a snap shot of our lives, were far from being perfect (Catherine from the ace family that said that) but still of course we all compare ourselves which is sad. We should love ourselves for our differences not all strive to be the same. I love this realistic family routine for me it's realistic being a pareof a disabled child myself and at a young age. Also I really didn't have anyone to turn to so I know for a fact these videos will really help some mummas out there who may be struggling. 💓
One day at a time momma! My special needs son will be 12 in a few months. Watching this video brought back memories of those early years...beautiful struggles, that's how I can describe those first few years. HIS grace is sufficient and life is just a series of victories in the making! Your baby girl is so precious!
As a mom of 4 kids and a special education teacher, I am exhausted just watching your video, you are an amazing mom!!! Have you ever considered a sleep consultant for Kenndal? They may be able to help Kenndal achieve better sleep for longer periods, and eventually sleep through the night. God bless!!!
Sweet Nikki, it made my day to find your video. I'm glad you got a vacation--- you needed it. I really enjoy watching your routines. Thank you. Pat fromPa.
She is BEAUTIFUL, I whole haeatedly agree. My son is 17 right now, we adopted him when he was 17 months, he was the size and function as a typical 5-6 month old. I so remeber those early days when it was all so new and diagnoses were coming to us in all directions. We look back now ane wonder how we did it and we ,as you, know it was our faith that got us where we are. My "mantra", was a constant stream of "Thy will be done" whenever we headed into surgery or a new Doctor. Your family is in our prayers and hugs to your Princess👸

You might try the Wubbanub pacifiers that have a pacifier attached to a small stuffed animal. At least with the stuffed animal attached, it'll be easier to help it stay in her mouth and you can keep it propped on your chest. That's the only pacifier my son will take and he loves it.
I mentioned the same thing before seeing your comment! My son has a bilateral cleft lip and palate, so he has a hard time keeping a binky in his mouth on his own. The Wubbanubs work great!

Not to overstep, but if you find she sleeps better on you/by you, you should try "sidecar" ing a single bed or double to her crib. This way ypu can keep her safe by keeping her in her own sleep space but you can lay beside her and still cuddle her, rub her back etc. My son went through a phase where he wouldn't sleep and this was the only way either of us slept. My husband needs to be up early for work too and we found this worked well, I always found thr baby transfer back to his crib always woke him up! This way i just rolled away. But anyways, much love mama, you are doing such an amazing job. Both of you are, you can see how loved your daughter is
Have you tried using a Wubbanub to hold her binky in her mouth? My son has cleft lip and palate so he has a hard time keeping his pacifier in his mouth on his own. My son has the elephant and penguin from Wubbanub. His favorite is the elephant and the long trunk seems to help keep it in his mouth if he is laying down for a nap. Hopefully she will see our comment and try to get one for Kenndal :)
You don't want anything to force the pacifier to stay in her mouth, a weighted thing like that may be okay, but since she's special needs I would not risk it
Alicia Emery The Wubbanubs do not really “force” the pacifier into the babies mouth; they help hold it in the right position for them to keep it in their mouth on their own if they don’t have the best suction. It’s still completely up to the baby as to whether or not they actually take the pacifier.
I will pray for Kenndal and all of you. I worked in Special Education and have a daughter (now she is 40) but at 14 needed brain surgery for her 30 a day seizure disorder. I promise to pray daily for you. God Bless!!
Poor moth... they are basically nocturnal butterflies lol. Anyways, good luck with the double hip surgery! Poor sweetie, but I hope it will help her with whatever the reason is that she needs it! This channel is one of the few family channels that I think is positive and I love it. :D
She truely is an angel like my girl....you both a great parents...I still find this a just a guessing game with special needs parents....but you are doing great my love!...god bless all of you...I have been through a lot in 17 years and I am glad to do what I have done....I would not want it any other way!...we need lots praise sometimes....taking care of gods child like this is very hard...but also rewarding!...🙏🙏🙏❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
I don't know if you realize just how amazing you are. I have 3 kids.. 16 yr old, almost 13 yr old and a 5 yr old and all My kids slept amazing and were happy babies. My oldest was the only one that gave me any issues with sleep and his first few months he would just cry if I didn't constantly hold him. It was nothing like what you go through with Kendall though. My middle child slept all night long from birth and was such an easy baby to care for. My youngest slept pretty good as a baby but he did wake up here and there. Eventually though he pretty much stopped getting up during the night. Even though he's 5, you wouldn't be able to tell because he has severe autism (stage 3) and is completely non verbal. He doesn't say a single word and really never has. He just makes a handful of noises. He also is really behind other kids his age. Some things he does you would think he's older but then other things he's like a toddler. He really only communicates by pointing at things, taking you to what he wants and by crying, making mad noises, and smiling/laughing. He doesn't really show any other emotions like we've never seen him sad before which is kinda nice. Many autistic kids don't sleep well and the doctor that did his autism screening said we were actually extremely lucky with how he is. He loves his sleep and for yrs he slept 12 hrs a night. He'd go to bed between 8 and 9 and wake between 8 and 9 in the morning. The last few months though, mainly since everything shit down due to covid, he started going to bed later. He now is going to sleep usually between 10 and 10:30 and wakes up about 8am so he's still sleeping awesome! He's also an extremely happy child and doesn't get angry much and doesn't have many tantrums. We're definitely aware that we got very lucky. Seeing how well you do with Kendall especially when she won't stop crying amazing. Most people would find that situation super tough and even the most patient people would have trouble coping with her constant crying. I'm sure you get frustrated and stressed out but you don't show it. You one special mama and she is so lucky to have someone like you in her corner!
Just outta sheer curiosity, does Kendall seem to noticeably acknowledge & process (in any capacity) the movies u play for her? @@nikolecunningham Oh no, I'm so sorry to hear that 😔 Well i hope that you guys find something that works, or she gets better as she gets older with the sleeping -- Sending love ❤
Idk if it would help or not but my little brother used to grind his teeth really bad (I think it was bc of anxiety due to family issues) and I would lightly squeeze the side of his jaw like on the joint and he would typically stop fairly soon. It never hurt him at all so I don't think it will hurt her. Again Idk if it will help but I just thought I'd let you know.
Have you try a sleep test? It’s when” An infant who has persistent breathing problems during sleep may need an overnight sleep study. This study is called a polysomnogram. It charts your child's brain waves, heartbeat, and breathing during sleep. It also records arm and leg movements.”
Youre such an amazing woman, mother, and wife. 💞 in case no ones told you yet today, youre incredible.

@@nikolecunningham Oh no, I'm so sorry to hear that 😔 Well i hope that you guys find something that works, or she gets better as she gets older with the sleeping -- Sending love ❤
You are an amazing mom!
I love you and your tiktok!!!!
Have you try a sleep test? It’s when” An infant who has persistent breathing problems during sleep may need an overnight sleep study. This study is called a polysomnogram. It charts your child's brain waves, heartbeat, and breathing during sleep. It also records arm and leg movements.”
Secret Watson_Lomax we have talked with our neurologist about this
