- The FeiyuTech G6MAX 3-axis Gimbal for Mirrorless Camera, GoPro Hero9, iPhone is a good product on paper but the execution and app makes it a poor customer experience. Do not buy this

To fix the vibration and misinformation of this video... you need to open the application on your phone and calibrate the Motor Strength after you have the camera set up on it. On heavier cameras if you don't do that it will violently shake and try to take over the world.
Well I have the same camera with ak2000 and it has the same vibration issue. Even if I choose the motor strength properly, calibrate the gimbal and balance my camera it starts to vibrate the camera. After a firmware upgrade it got fixed but now the regular position is few degrees tilted so I wouldn't buy Feiyutech again. But calibration and motor strenght might fix the problem. I just have had enough with these gimbals.
Omg Lol 😂 yes that’s what mine does. All these “reviews” never review how to actually stabilize the heavier phones like my Pro12 Max, which is what we need, we can get the functions from the app if it works, they just cut and boom it’s done. No help.
This is a great Spoof video, detailing how not to do a product review. Maybe read the directions and know how to use the device first.
Or a bad product
@@TechinfluenceTV nah, Jeffrey Nolin is correct.
I've had nothing but problems with this item. It's damn near impossible to balance it properly.
@@sierrarambler5780 Snap - I had it perfectly balanced on the kit lens, way under the maximum weight and after 5 mins it becomes unstable or leans over and starts to shake. You do need to balance it with the camera switched on, because the kit lens extends slightly which changes the balance. I think they just have very poor quality control, some are ok and some don't work. I will never buy from them again
@@hannahmillington5781 Yes, I had the camera on with lens extended. Still having trouble. Gonna take it to my nephew in Ohio who's a professional photographer, maybe he can get it to work. I tried with my GoPro and still haven't got it working with that yet either. Arghhh!
I think it would be better not to have bought that sweater.
Lolo😅
Try reading the instructions, you can calibrate the gimbal on the gimbal it self you don’t need to use the app. I have this gimbal and once calibrated properly it is awesome with any thing from aSony A6000, GoPro and iPhone 12 Pro Max . It’s NOT a bad product just a review done without proper research.
The G6 Max is an awesome bit of kit and will easily support heavier cameras than those that you are testing. I have three gimbals and this one is far the best. But you DO need to read the instructions and there are plenty of other RUclips set up videos. Mine is brilliant, is easy to calibrate and works fine - just sayin'
You go to the menu, motor setup and you select adapting. It change the motor power based on the weight of the devise. I don't know why they don't tell this anywhere but it's as simple at that and then it works like a charm.
thx
I was having trouble too until I found this option.
Problem being that the settings don't carry over and the camera gets shook every time the gimbal is turned back on
You made a great mistake by first balancing a light camera/smartphone and than put a heavy camera/lens combination without adjusting the motor strength in the app. This is so stupid, complaining a product is not good, when you make yourself the wrong settings… this will not add to the reliability of your reviews, if you don’t know what you are doing.
First read the instructions
Check the weight of your camera to be sure it’s compatible
Take the freaking strap off because never can be balance with it!!!
Check the Feiyu VIDEO BALANCE!!!!
I have one using it with a Canon M6 Mark II, sigma 16mm 1.4 very heavy lens, corner smallrig (to move it more to the back and balance) and it’s working perfect!!!
Agree with the negative comments underneath. Not a review, bad buying advice, based on too little experience with the device and not thinking enough about use cases for people... Perhaps also too biased and too much of a DJI fan?
I got mine last week works like a charm for my Panasonic gh4 as I have no stabilization on the lens and the camera has none either. The 28mm lens am using even with a viltrox lens adapter attached works. Here is some Feiyutech info. "Feiyu G6 Max compared to the G6 Plus with it now being able to support maximum camera payloads of 2.65 pounds." check the combined weight of your camera lens setup. Of course make sure none of the three locks are on and its not damaged. It's amazing to use.
I am not saying it's a poor review but merely reviewing gear that is not properly prepared. This gimbal work for me on my XT-4 Fujifilm with 16-80 lens, GoPro Hero8, and iPhone 13 Pro Max. I like this because I have a gimbal for both my 3 gears that I can carry over during my trip. There is a good video out there on youtube on how to properly balance this gimbal. And one thing more, if you are going to balance your gear take out any unnecessary thing in your camera that adds weight like the strap. when it says 1.2 kg don't go beyond that weight. I agree with some comments here, need to know more the gear, lots of video from the manufacturer on how to balance this gimbal. chao...
I think the guys that answered before me have the solution on gimbal power. As an Engineer, familiar with feedback loop stability, they make sense.
I have operated a Panasonic Lumix FZ-80, larger and heavier than a Go-Pro or a phone by far, and it operated beautifully. So, I think the review, even before we find that servo gain can be raised to compensate, is a bit limited. Need to reconsider and revise.
I bought mine used from someone else at a cut rate who did not understand ways to improve the installation and it was a great purchase.
Todavía no me llega puedo cancelarlo es broma es una respuesta al título 😂
Yikes. Bro, learn how to balance a FeiyuTech gimbal before you shoot a review. Even I, a DJI fanboy, have to give this gimbal credit for punching way above its price point. I used one this weekend with heavier cameras than you have and it was a workhorse. Learn how to actually operate the equipment you have before whining and saying it doesn’t work.
Mine works like a dream
I need a splashproof one and Ronin is not
Then my camera has a weight of 889g so I can not use G6Pro
This G6Max looks like the only option for waterproof and 1.2kg payload
Yep, take off the camera strap.
Mine works perfectly. Learn how to read instructions and use a product before you give it such a bad review!
Mine works perfect for Sony RX 100 and GoPro 3. Follow the instruction videos and balance step for step on a tripod. Then adjust motor strength. I had to reduce it significantly. Good luck 👍
Do you only make DO NOT BUY videos? It would seem so!
No look at my channel
No supiste balancearmo 😂
Tan fácil que es 🤣
Acabo de balancear una Canon T7 + Helios 44m-4 58mm f2 y no tiene nunguna falla ✌️🤘
Please help me, how can I control the phone's camera through the device? What app are you using? I can't zoom through the phone's camera, the device doesn't control the phone's camera.
This gimbal software out of date... If they no going to update to support Gopro 9 yo 11...better stop sell....
So you have show " learning by doing !"
You should have read the Manual First and so some trials First !!
You’re asking that gimbal to do more than it was designed to. Consider the Feiyutech AK2000S for your Sony camera. I own the G6MAX, AK2000S and the AK4500. They each have their role. Heavier cameras need bigger gimbals. Feiyutech makes excellent gimbals. The right tool for the job as the saying goes.
Why didn't you learn how to use the Gimbal before embarking on an instruction vid?
Why put your heading “Don’t Buy” when you at the time we’re reviewing it for the first time?
If Jake Gyllenhaal and Bubbles from Trailer Park Boys had a baby
So kinda joke, why don´t you strip the strap off
Wow, that dislike ratio +86 -369
First make home work before make any review.
That was painfull lol
you first stabilize your brain
I have the same problem
It is perfect for the Sony ZV-1!
i have the same problem with zv-1 shake shake shake
@@AntonShekera I believe you have to calibrate it for the cameras weight
What about a canon rebel t6? I’m new to this and looking for a nice cheap stabilizer
Your first lens I think its too have for the gimbal.. If you read the manual I think there is a weight limit...
How tf are y'all getting this to balance with an iPhone?? I can balance my Canon no problem but there's not enough weight in the front of the iPhone so even when pushed all the way forward on the plate, it falls backwards. If I try to still use the gimbal, it just vibrates. What am I doing wrong?
learn to use a gimbal first you comparing a low budget cam with ronin?? that was a red flag to stop the video 😂😂😂
hi andy hoping to use this with my fuji x-20 can you tell me what editing software you used to produce the video -super good
😂😂😂😂
pretty amateur stuff this video
I’m getting there. My newer stuff is better quality
@@TechinfluenceTV no offense mate, you'll get there... keep going with the hard work and it will pay off!
Hi, can I do Face traking with the G6 Plus
So - what was the problem with wobbling? It's not working with front-heavy lenses?
mate which gimbal do you use?
Calibrated mine and has never failed me
I loved my g6max... Works perfectly
It's not balance btw 😉👍
Buy some eyes mate.
what camera is that ?
Saludos Amigo, gracias por el vídeo. Quisiera preguntar.
In my experience, it is bad. I used a sony nex 6 with 18-55 oss lens. First off, i have tried it all, rebalancing, motor calibration on the gimbal itself and app. Neither work. If the strength is too low it shakes horribly but is quiet. If i set the motor strength adequately it makes a loud, droning vibration sound which is unacceptable for good audio with video. Letting it auto adapt makes the issues 10x worse. Whats odd is that it had none of these issues on day 1 but after coming back home on day 2 and switching it on, i have all these problems occuring. Idk if the balance gets thrown off due to change in temperature but if so, its already useless to me and totally impractical. Its gotta at least be reasonably rugged for my line of work like cmon
DJI OM 5 has been tested which shows the iPhone Pro / Max is too heavy for it to handle.
Then why didn’t they say that . On the packaging it says it can hold up t phones heavier than the weight of the iPhone 12 Pro max
@@TechinfluenceTV That's a good question Andy....... I'm sorry that you along with others had to be on the back end of this.
It’s all good . I do reviews like this so folks don’t have to buy it and then get hosed.
@@TechinfluenceTV Thank you Andy, appreciate it.
I bought a DJI OM 5. I have an iPhone 13 in an OtterBox Defender case, 245g total. The OM 5 constantly complains that the phone is off center. The rating on the DJI site is 230g +/- 60g. That's a huge +/-. And the clamp doesn't fit the fat case. Toss in the limitations the OM 5 has as a gimbal, and I sent it back. The extension stick is nice to get over the top of crowds and some other situations, but wasn't the right one for me.
My is vibrating is well on gopro and phone ... rubbish
Is it compatible for gopro8?
Yesssssss, the question is in IS IT COMPATIBLE WITH GOPRO 9?
@@KostiaBazrov should be compatible with anything with a mount
Which device from DJI would you use? I agree this has issues and if there is something better I can still return this second gimble.
The osmo 3 or osmo 4
Great video! I‘m very interested to buy a light gimbal for my Sony Alpha 6500 with Sony Carl Zeiss 16-70mm F4 and Rode MicroVideo.Together all these items have a load of 803g.
On the specifications of FeiyuTech 6G Max I red that this lens is not compatible with the gimbal.
Is Carl Zeiss not supported by the gimbal and can’t be balanced?
Which functions can be used on this gimbal together with Sony Alpha 6500?
Video on/off, Foto rec, Zoom (digital)?
I have also iPhone 11Pro and iPhone 12 and I’m interested to have Feiyu 6G Max.
Please try to explain how I can use my lens F4 16-70mm Carl Zeiss with 6G Max.
Thanks in advance for help.
I want to like these gimbals but the app is impossible. I’ve bought the scorp, g5,g6 Vilma and sent them back. I agree, don’t waste your money on this garbage. More trouble than it’s worth.
WTF you want !!!
I Have the same setup. Unfortunatel, this lens is too heavy for this gimbal, but I was able to balance adding some extra weight on the camera with my smallrig. Now works very well.
That was the main problem i faced as well. if you start adding accessories it wont stabilize the phone or go pro.
I have questions to all those that say it works great. Please state what camera you are using and if the software in the app is listed with that version of phone. I get that there are a bunch of wires included for you to hard wire this to models like the Sony ZV1 which does not work correctly with this gimble or the other one, Zhiyun Crane M2. Both products have affiliate programs so I think some of these guys are not completely truthful. The Sony ZV1 needs the cord and in my experience has app issues but will function and take picture via the stick. There are things the app does like slow mo and will do it by itself! I mean you can get this stick to slowly move over a two hour time span and create a time lapsed movie. Those special features are app driven and I have not got that to work yet. I can use this and it fully functions in that it cycles through between video and image. It does move and do all the other stick based functions. The stabilize
