    I'm searching for oxygen concentrator right now, first I only want to buy the cheapest one, because at this time price is marked up really high, but after watching your videos, now I'm going to find one that offer 93% oxygen at 5 LPM. Thank you for your explanation.

      This video is misleading. An average human consumes 0.35 to 0.4 liters of oxygen per minute, which is much less than the oxygen compensator normally provides.

    Dear Shomu, you are wrong here.
    An average human inhales 7-8 liters of air (not oxygen) per minute, from which he extracts 5% of air which is pure oxygen. So, basically, humans inhale 0.35-0.4 liter of oxygen per minute. Most oxygen compensators already provide 1-liter oxygen per minute, which is enough. However, it will indeed be not enough for serious Covid patients. For not-so-serious patients, it is enough.

    • @shomusbiologyofficial
      @shomusbiologyofficial  3 года назад +1

      20% of 8 ltr is 1.5 ltr. That much oxygen is present. We exhale 15% out but still we need that 20% to start with. So, we need to supply a person with more than 1.5 ltr of oxygen to meet the need in covid crisis.
      Good you pointed out. I will make another video. But my verdict remains the same. These 1 ltr product won't be sufficient.

    • @niteshroyal30
      @niteshroyal30 3 года назад +2

      @@shomusbiologyofficial An average human consumes 0.35-0.4 liter of oxygen per minute. So, 1 liter of oxygen that concentrators provide is abundant for average humans.
      Nevertheless, the problem with Covid patients is that they cannot process even the abundant oxygen because of lung infections. For them, even 10 liters of pure oxygen will also not be abundant. Patients with serious infections should not be treated at home. Their place is in hospital anyways.

    very good video, only thing i find is its very hard to follow as spoken English is very fast and merges with own language, but at least I know what type of machine to buy, all the proper medical type ones in UK start at about £1200 in 2021, due to the bad state of our nhs system, and my condition (half lungs work now due to pneumonia) I think it will be a good idea to invest in one, even though very expensive better alive than dead.

  • @vijaysankargubbala6626
    @vijaysankargubbala6626 3 года назад

    Shomu da, here is what I understand from the documentation available online about the oxygen levels. Normally a person consumes anything between 7-8 liters of air, out of which 5% is what gets abosrbed. I believe it is not 7-8 liters of oxygen per minute a normal person consumes rather it is amount of air being consumed. With that being said, 8liters of air * 5% is approximately 0.5Ltrs of oxgen per minute. So a 5L concentrator with a purity of 90% supplies around 4.5Ltrs per minute. Since a covid patient's lung gets damaged the absorption rate falls less than 5%, hence a constant supply of anything upto 4.5ltrs of oxygen at 90% would be sufficient for a patient. Please correct me if I'm worng.
